I requested an appointment with a person that has been a "stylist" for years. I requested someone…read morethat has experience with thick hair. My appointment was for 5pm. She was running behind, which was fine, no biggie. Sat in the chair at 5:20. A quick "consult" and off to the bowl to be shampoo'ed. Back in the chair. "trust the process" is my mentality when it comes to haircuts. I trust that the stylist knows what they are doing. She was taking large sections of my hair and pulling it straight up. No worries, I figured its was a trick she had learned. I was out the door by 6 because she has someone else waiting.... So I was rushed in and out and charged $85.00. After 2 weeks of living with this choppy, uneven haircut, I am going somewhere else to try and fix it.

Worst haircut--and overall experience--I've had in a very long time in a salon. I am left wondering…read moreif this person switched careers and is brand new at it. Because she is TERRIBLE. The "layers" are all choppy and drastically uneven. I cannot even put my hair in a ponytail because she cut super short "underlayers"... She only put conditioner "on the ends" for some reason (I have wavy, coarse hair that needs conditioner!), but I thought she'd then add product/serum. Nope. So then she PULLED and damaged my hair with a comb for the next 20 minutes while I suffered. I asked if they had product and she said no. I mean, what? Then she questioned my preference to "keep the length" and ignored my preference. So then while she has the scissors and I'm reiterating that I only want a minimal TRIM (because I knew this was not going well), she tells me how her "boyfriend worked for Trump" and "well the Republicans will have to get back in [the White House]" (to work in DC). &(@^$ It's so bad. I have chunks of hair just hanging there. I'll have to wait weeks for it to grow out before finding a professional to fix it.

I have been coming to Salon Fiber for about 2 years and LOVE the salon. I found them after leaving…read morea longtime stylist at another salon that was no longer convenient to my hours or home. I was super stressed about finding a new salon/stylist and did exhaustive research on local salons via Yelp, google reviews, and Instagram. Through many visits and following the salon on social media I can tell that all of the stylists here are talented. From balayage, to bold pops of color, to event hair, they have broad skill sets on hand. I was interested in balayage for a more natural look after doing a double process of dying my roots + foil highlights for many years. I have been seeing stylist Briley for about a year and love the way my hair looks. Briley is excellent at achieving beautiful natural looking balayage. I love that it doesn't look super obvious that I've colored my hair whether I've gone lighter for summer, or darker for fall, it is a subtle enhancement that works well with my original coloring. I appreciate how detail oriented she is, always talking through the details of what I'm looking for in cut and color. I also appreciate the recommendations I've received from the stylists here on how to upkeep my color and overall hair health. They carry some specialty lines of products that I was not familiar with before coming here, and I absolutely love the italian line Davines that they offer. One important thing to note is that you need to allow a bit of extra time to find street or lot parking in Phoenixville. There is a lot right across the street and behind the salon, as well as a few spots right out front. But, depending on the time and day of week (or if there is an event in town), parking can require a few extra minutes.

I visited this salon with high expectations after reading all of the rave reviews and seeing this…read morebusiness specializes in beautiful color work. Given that the prices here are premium, I expected to tap into their marketed expertise to treat my hair woes. I am super bummed to report this salon fell short of those expectations for my visits. I don't feel that I left with amazing hair and reaching the goals discussed with the stylist, or that I even had above average service. I came in to have my roots and ends match a seemingly complex service for me, and eventually after ongoing visits to have my overall hair color lightened. The person who I saw I feel overpromised and underdelivered. Between both of my visits there were many issues which I experienced that amounted to a negative vibe. I felt that the stylist was rushing a lot during a visit which caused her to splatter my face and clothes with lightening product unapologetically. The stylist got dark hair dye which stained very visibly all over my face and was ready to let me leave this way. I had to insist to clean off my own face with wipes. The next visit I needed to remind about this and no notes were taken to proactively avoid. Despite the discussion and understanding with the stylist about what I want for my hair, I noticed there was a difference between my roots and rest of my hair after a lightening service and simultaneous root touch up. I did expect for there to be better matching - this was noticed and confirmed by a different salon which I had a consult with to treat my hair. During one visit when I asked for a hair trim, it was not very detail oriented. Later while looking at my hair, I did see many parts of my ends which weren't trimmed and still had damage. The observation about lack of detail orientation was confirmed at a the different visit. There was another stylist next to me who was obsessing over a client's cut and measuring and cutting from every which angle to ensure perfection - I did not not have anywhere close to this level of attention, QA, outcome for a less complex trim! Then I noticed they were obsessing just to post on social in their in house backdrop/lighting mini studio, which made me wonder if that level of excellence is selective. During my second visit my blow dry was not smooth at all as it was rushed due to end of the night. The service also seemed a bit unapproachable as despite me conveying I need to get in in 4 weeks she was proposing 6 weeks or at times in the middle of the work day. Who in any job can reasonably travel and step away for 2-3 hours in the middle of the work day? Not until I repeated (again), was a more creative solution proposed which would meet my conveyed needs. Egh this lack of empathy in the customer service was yet another turn off. Due to these issues I chose to not proceed with visiting this salon another time, or making it a part of my ongoing hair maintenance routine. There are many beautiful photos on IG from the stylist I saw, and I'm so bummed about my own experience having spent on a premium experience and not being able to leave with awesome hair! I really did feel this salon experience failed to wow me during either of the visits despite giving them more than one try. Given the difference of results, I wonder if this salon is selective about who/when they offer execllent service versus mediocre as I experienced which is too much a gamble when you're paying such premium prices. Unfortunately given how long this business books out, I do not feel it is a practical salon to visit if you have a fast paced lifestyle and are in need of regular hair services. These were all rookie mistakes for a business charging so high - think twice!

Earl is a true master…read more I moved about a year ago back to the main line. I was truly never happy with any barber in the area. I work in the city and had some solid haircuts there but the service was lackluster and at $55 quite the rip off. Then there was Earl. Great haircut. Took his time to make it perfect and a just the right amount of interesting conversation. All for under $20. My hair is the stiff and coarse Asian hair that barbers find challenging because every mistake shows. Earl was more than up to the challenge. How good was the hair cut? So good, I bright my 2 year old to get his haircut. I was worried because he usually goes to the kids salon with the cars as barber chairs and TVs. Earl Connected right away. I put a tablet in my kids hand and he just smiled through it. It seemed to me like he knew he was about to get a serious haircut with a nice hard part and all. We walked out with what my wife said was "his best haircut yet." I uploaded some pictures for you to see. I saw the other female stylist cut a another little boy's hair at the same time and she did a fantastic job as well. Price was $13 for a kid's cut. You just can't beat the value! Don't hesitate on giving them a try.
