I had a pleasant workout with Chris through the FitSpot app at a local gym. He was very punctual, patient and motivating.

His music (he's also a DJ) is amazing and he puts so much effort into having his cycling drills match his awesome music. He's so motivating, so funny and sooo much fun! The gym and locker room has gotten increasingly dirty. Never clean towels, the shampoos and soap dispensers are always empty. Constantly out of razors, washcloths, q-tips and all the other things they show you when you first take the tour. They shut off the steamroom early and start packing up the gym hours before they close which is super uncomfortable while you are still trying to use equipment. The staff is usually gossiping at the front desk or sitting in the laundry room on their phones. They used to have a great member party every year, but haven't had it the last few years. It really seems like they have funneled all their money into the LA and Nashville location and don't care at all about the original members at their Long Beach Location. I"m finally making the move to Club Studio cause this place has continued to get worse and worse.

I'm always greeted by smiling faces that make me feel welcome. The gym has a variety of equipment and weights so workouts stay fresh and motivating. The music is fun and keeps me going. I train with OJ (the owner) but I've done a few sessions with other trainers and they have all been great. The trainers listen and meet you where you're at and give you that extra push when needed. I've seen results and feel stronger than when I started. I see all fitness levels at the gym so they will meet you where you're at.

I've gained about 20 pounds and I haven't been able to take it off and not because I've been trying, but I haven't been motivated to try. So I knew it was time to make a change. I walked in there and met Krystina (I think that's how you spell her name.) She was really friendly and motivating, and we made an appointment for a consultation for the next day (yesterday.) I already knew that if I felt rushed or pushed or if it felt sales-y, then I wasn't going to do it. But she was so nice there was like not only zero pressure it was like minus hundred pressure lol. She seemed like she was mainly interested in getting to know me and find out what my needs were. Struggled through the work that we did together, but she was super motivating and spotted me when I needed it. I will be starting with her next month and I can't wait. I know that this is going to be a transformational journey and I don't mean physically.

And like many, started, failed, threw money at the gyms right after New Years. Finally came to the realization I couldn't do it on my own. I after searching Yelp locally, I found Barot Bros Fitness. I requested an appointment and Jay, returned my call that evening. When I told him what times I was available, said it would be best to go with his brother, Jolin. Went in a couple days later and had a consultation, included a standard basic health questionnaire and mini workout so he could assess. I'm not going to lie here, you might be in sticker shock when you get the price quote, but if you are serious about your health and fitness, not short term but rather long term, that shouldn't be an issue. If you can't or don't want, don't waste your time or theirs. It is has been about 6 months I've been with Jolin and that investment has been worth it. He works on a specific plan to your needs, and pushes you to do better, to be your best self. The motivational quotes are really inspiring around the gym. Jolin also talks the talk. It's like a nutritionist telling you what to eat to lose weight, as they sit there stuffing their face with donuts. He does his own works outs regularly. Jolin's experience is extensive, his clientele impressive, but it is the connection you also have to have with your trainer to be successful, and a genuine interest your trainer has in making sure YOU meet YOUR goals. Also, when learning a new exercise, he takes the time to show you. Watches you do a couple and if you aren't doing correctly, makes sure you are, even if it take the whole session. You know you got a great trainer when you having a tough day, perhaps mentally, and you hear, "keep pushing"in your head. Wish I found Barot Bro earlier.

He is extremely knowledgable, and everything we do has a clear purpose. I've already seen progress, and I have been feeling stronger and more confident. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a true professional.

I prefer Naples fitness over other gyms because of the one-on-one attention that is given along with a clean and professional gym. David does a great job listening to his clients in what outcome they are looking for then works together with you to achieve that. I appreciate how knowledgeable David is about the human body and how he adjusts workouts based on my needs and abilities. He also creates and designs a work out program specifically to me. I can discuss diet and stretches that help me on my own time. When injured David takes the time to focus on the issue with stretches, mobility and muscle massages. Overall there's nothing bad I can say about Naples Fitness and I'm thankful I have a gym like this to go to.

Naples Fitness is so awesome that I lost a pound just walking in the door. Seriously, they're THAT…read moregood. ;) To be fair and give an honest assessment, I must share that I do know the owner Dave, but that does not mean my review is slanted as a result. I have had personal training before, both in a gym and independently. The NF studio rates top notch in my book. The clean and spacious environment affords great equipment and a welcoming atmosphere. Want to watch TV? Done. Want good music to pump iron too? Done. Need a locker for your valuables? Done. And how about the nicest bathroom I've ever seen in a fitness studio? Done, yet again. Dave is a great person and fantastic personal trainer. He is super friendly and wants to tune into you completely for the best workout. Dave is there to motivate you, ignore your excuses, get you pumped and make sure you do it all effectively and safely. While I don't know the other trainers individually, when I met them at the Seal Beach 5/10k, they were all super friendly and highly supportive of all the event participants running on behalf of Naples Fitness. A core reason I like NF is their involvement and support for community events while also supporting health and fitness. Whether it's in getting a group to do a community run, take donations for the Ronald McDonald house, or give away free beach boot camp classes in exchange for food, NF and their staff are never too busy to do great things on a local level. I love my city, and so does Naples Fitness. So, what you really want to know about is the workout, right? Each exercise and workout is tailored specifically to you, your ability, your initial fitness level and your goals. The workouts structured for me have been great, some familiar to me and some new, and completely doable both in and outside the fitness studio. The hardest, and while I hesitate to admit it, but also the best part of the time I worked with Dave was when he worked on my hamstrings and tight muscles. I've never had that done for me, and while it totally caused me to cringe, wince, cry and maybe curse a little, it was the best part of my workout and long over due. I just might sign up for that torture alone. Ultimately, it isn't my review that's going to get you to get off the couch and sign up. It's going to be your choice, and when you're ready, choose Naples Fitness.

I hang out with her a lot, but it wasn't until this past Saturday when I've actually worked out with her at one of her Saturday morning boot camp sessions by the beach. We've been saying we should work out together forEVER but it was usually a scheduling thing that prevented me from doing anything regular with her. Besides, I was always training for one marathon or another and when you're doing that there's very little time for other kinds of physical training (well, for me, anyway :P). Since my next half marathon training won't be starting up for a few months, I thought it'd be a great chance to check out one of her boot camp sessions. It was a great cross-training opportunity for me, since I run mostly and even when I do weights at the gym I don't really push myself all that much. Plus, it's not as expensive when you do a group class. Spring is here and it's really nice to be exercising outdoors anyway. I must say, my first workout was pretty intense--I ended up doing all the stuff I usually avoid, like lunges, push ups, running up and down stairs, etc etc. It was very challenging, which was great, but if some of the stuff gets to be too much you can totally modify to suit your fitness level. Jesika never yells or screams at you (unless you want her to) but she'll work you hard. Even though I whined and complained and got really sore from taxing some unused muscles, I'll be going back for more next week.
