We also loved walking through the market inside -- there were SO many good things! Amazing cheeses, meats, snacks, and everything you could possibly want to put together for a picnic with your wine. They were also running a great wine promotion while we were there, which of course we had to take advantage of! Beautiful property, great wine, great atmosphere, and even better hospitality. Our tour guide was knowledgeable sharing about the history of the vineyard and answering questions the guests had. He also poured a little more of the wines he brought out if we wanted more. You start by checking in at the bottom of the hill. You then take the gondola up to the winery where you'll start with a white wine. We then proceeded to go on a walking tour where we were able to learn more about the long history of Sterling Vineyards. Along the way we were able to take in arguably the best views in all of the valley while enjoying wine that started from grapes that were grown in the vineyards below. We each chose different tasting flights so we could try a wider variety of wines, and Mike did a fantastic job walking us through everything. He was knowledgeable, welcoming, and made the tasting feel relaxed and personalized rather than rushed. During our conversation, I mentioned that I had never done a barrel tasting before, and Mike surprised me by arranging one for us on the spot.
