They will send an "appraiser" out who will inflate your homes value and decide what repairs THEY want done. They also use this "appraiser" as an inspector to judge work done. Shady business practices, at best. We have done all repairs listed on the "Escrow Holdback Agreement" but NOW Shannon is demanding more repairs not listed. Supreme Lending and Shannon are now holding our excess funds (+$8000.00) hostage. Not to mention, the foundation repair company still has not been paid for their services rendered. A full 3 weeks post work. All paperwork signed on our side. $17,000.00+ is owed to this company. We know even "when" we complete their latest demands, we will NEVER see our monies. Supreme Lending and Shannon Lasater have a great scam going. They will lend you money but won't ACTUALLY release those funds to you. They will add barriers and do all they can to keep your money. Their poor communication, lack of follow-through and inability to appropriately manage documentation led to severe delays in the timeline of our home purchase. Their inefficiency caused us to incur hundreds of dollars in additional out-of-state moving costs. On top of all this, they literally blamed US for their incompetence. Overall, what a mess. With numbers aside though, I have received by far the best customer service from Todd. He is courteous, very responsive (seriously, I've called the guy at 10pm), and most importantly, he didn't give me the run around like some of the other lenders. Long story short, Emily Franke of SWBC Mortgage royally screwed me over. Just wait for that review- OH, it's comin'. I was lucky enough to have a good real estate broker who put me in contact with Todd after this all happened. While others rushed me off the phone, ignored crucial information, and/or confused me even more, my first phone call with Todd was a whole hour long. He took the time (on a Saturday!) to review every single detail and explain everything that I needed to know. I was extremely pressed for time, and Todd spent the day on Sunday doing about a week's worth of work in order for me to get the house that I wanted. Since then, he has been constantly in touch to update me on the status of...well...everything (by "everything" I mean the million things needed to come together to close on a house). He even went above and beyond to find me a hazard insurance policy that was $300 less than anything else I was quoted (yes, with the same amount of coverage)! I mean, c'mon, you can't tell me that your lender has ever done that for you. I'm ecstatic. Wait, that wasn't convincing enough. I'M ECSTATIC. SO FLIPPIN' ECSTATIC. I'm moving into the perfect house, and I can confidently say that this would not be happening if it wasn't for Todd Turlington.
