I live across the country but was able to have a gift purchased and delivered to an elderly relative. Very easy. Good service.

Zan and her crew are great people. However, this experience was different. The idea was that we'd work together to pack and label boxes for storage, for donation, for my cousins, for my Mom's apartment, and for my house. Different boxes for different locations. However, she and her 2 colleagues came in and dispersed throughout the house, each one packing items and sealing boxes without my knowing what was in each box. Labels like "Kitchen misc" aren't helpful. They broke the handle off one cup in a set of four that had matching saucers and chipped my Mom's vintage Corningware casserole dish and it can no longer be used for cooking. When I went searching for the empty collector card tins I had sold to a man but hadn't shipped yet, I couldn't find them among any of the unpacked items or labeled on any box. I went downstairs and found a black contractor bag marked "Trash", opened it, and found the tins. They had decided they were trash without checking with me and tossed them all into a trash bag. This made me worried about what was in all the boxes they had sealed. I opened one box and found parts of a set of dishes. In one box were the ceramic dishes, in another box were the matching trivets and lids, and in another box were the matching wire carrying baskets. This also happened with a set of collector glasses and with pitchers and their matching basins or platters. I had asked them specifically to keep all sets together. In a big contractor bag marked "Donation", I found they had taken 2 pair of brand-new shoes out of their boxes and tossed them into the bag and threw away the boxes and tissue paper. I had posted those shoes on Marketplace. This isn't a situation where all boxes go to just one place and items are unpacked knowing that all the items will stay in that one place, as is done when people move. All these items were going to different people at different places. They told me it doesn't matter what goes in the donation boxes because there are workers at the donation centers who open each box and put sets together. However, I doubt that workers would open 30 boxes at one time, unwrap every item in every box, and take the time to put sets together. It's not fair to expect workers to do that. Most likely, the workers would just throw the un-matched items away. $600 for 3 people for 4 hours and I ended up having to open each box to find things, put sets back together, and re-wrap and re-box them all. I wish they had included me in the entire process.

The clutter was really starting to bother me. However, getting a handle on my problem rooms seemed too daunting a task. I looked at everything, and saw what could easily be a full week's worth of work. I had been curious about hiring an organizing professional to come help, but I was highly skeptical. After all, shouldn't that be something I should be able to just do for myself? After getting to know owner, and organizer extraordinaire Eliza, I quickly saw the value she offered. While I might have eventually taken care of my organizational needs on my own, she was a driving force to actually make it happen. It is no longer something I am putting off and letting bother me. It's now done, and out of the way. I can move forward with my life, be more productive, and have one less thing hanging over me to get done. That's a great value in my mind. Eliza was a joy to work with. She treated the whole process in such a professional manner. She emailed me with her policies and procedures well in advance of our session, helping me to properly prepare, and allowing me to know what to expect. On the day of our organizing session, she showed up on time, and ready to work! With Eliza working beside me, we were able to take care of both of my problem rooms in a single day. She helped me to get everything condensed and organized. We also jettisoned a great deal of trash, recycled what we could, and made several trips to donate items to charity. She planned out a system of labeled containers to help me stay organized and keep things out of my way. She helped me to reclaim a large chunk of my house. Best of all, my wife and son can now use the living room again! Yay! Bottom line, I was very pleased with Eliza and Simplicana. Highly recommended!

Though I didn't succeed at the whole teaching thing, I did learn a lot from her organizational techniques. From physical files to accountability charts, Eliza makes organization manageable. I even recommended her to my company to help revamp our entire company's organization and communication systems. And I am hiring her to help me with my current move. I just can't say enough about how helpful her tips are. The best part is that she doesn't just do it for you, she gives you strategies that will continue to serve you in any environment.
