ohhhhhhhhh my god so good the pho broth is nicely spicy and the noodle stir fry is so good. id never considered cilantro in stir fry but i have to call my mom and tell her about this now read more

We were staying right next door and passed by it a few times. Last day of our stay we decided go try it out. All in the family were craving some vietnamese pho. The place did not disappoint. It was exactly what we had expected. Value for your money. All the dishes came out quick and hot. read more

I personally did not go to the restaurant I went by yelp reviews, the service was excellent, the food was great call Ma and they follow the directions that I had placed for my delivery. I do recommend them! The food was so good that I did not take any pictures! read more

They have made some positive changes to the place. They put more booths, a TV screen and hired more waiters/waitresses. It went from wanting to simply take out food to your house, to wanting to sit down for a meal. The service is great, the atmosphere is good and the food very fresh and delicious. My favorite is the Pho-tofu soup and egg rolls. Excellent place to have a good meal! read more

Stumbled upon this gem on our stop over in Monterey. The place is clean, organised and the staff are professional. I like it that it is Vietnamese fusion style and that is reflected in the use of less salt in the food. The Green Papaya salad was so fresh. We had spicy Pho beef soup and it hit the spot! Not burning chili heat but just right. Meat was tender and lots of side vegetables that came with it. Definitely a must 'go to' again next time we're in the area. read more

Pretty good food, the boba is fantastic here. Portions seemed small at first but I left satisfied after a few appetizers and an entree. They do offer a larger portion for an extra $2. They did take a bit long to give us our boba and didn't check in to ask if we needed anything else until the very end. Overall pretty good experience and I will be returning. read more

We are locals on the Central Coast who have frequented this business since Covid hit in 2019. Overall, our experience (with take out and dine-in) has been hit and miss with food (consistency and taste) and service, at both Monterey and Seaside locations. Today, we ordered the combination pho (which arrived with bland broth and with finely chopped noodles, as opposed to whole fresh noodles, as was the case in the past. The yellow curry (which was just grilled chicken ya'll, had no sauce or curry on it, We questioned it and were told "it's the way the plate is served." Managers and employees have displayed indifference and belligerent behaviors when receiving client feedback. This restaurant would benefit from listening to its customers' feedback by taking client concerns seriously. Improvement in the quality of food, freshness and consistency of the plates served, as well as vast improvement in customer service are needed for us to return. If you have a choice to spend your money on eating out, find another place where the restaurant actually provides you a quality service that matches the food to the menu pictures displayed. read more

Enviroment: Lively! Good for big parties if you come at the right time. I had a party of 10 and got seated immediately. But then again...it was like 4pm Service: Friendly and Food: This is what got docked down. Pho was okay...not the best. I had a regular size and there was only 4 slices of meat. Their Pho had a floral taste to it which was unique but didn't suit my taste. Boba was okay too...nothing much to say about that. read more

Sandwiches and soups are delicious, the best! Prices are incredible. But this location is unreliable, they are always out of one key ingredient or another, (IE out of bread for sandwiches), or their delivery person didnt go to work (90% of the time), so delivery is unavailable, and finally, they Close early all the time, when its slow, so they are very unreliable. otherwise the food and service (when they are open) is 5*s but service reliability is 2*s read more

My girlfriend ordered the Won Ton bowl and on the menu it describes 2 shrimp is included in the serving. My girlfriend only found 1. The waitress asked us how everything was and I explained to her we only received 1 shrimp but your menus stated we would get 2 shrimp. She explained that 1 shrimp is cut in half. WOW! The basil and the sprouts that came with my Pho looked old and brown. They also don't tell you there's and extra charge for using your credit card. Do not come here! read more

Chopstix did a wee-bit better this time around than my prior experience. I didn't have to wait 20 minutes to get my food like the time before. I got the 5 spice chicken over noodles and avocado snow. The chicken was well cooked, but lacked ALL of the 5 spices. This dish was missing some serious flavor! The snow tasted artificial. I know they are made with powder no matter where you go, but it doesn't compare to the yummy smoothness of the avocado smoothie at Bahn Mi in Marina. Overall Thoughts: I like that I didn't have to wait so long like last time. .5 star better than last time ....barely. read more

Yeeech, worst vietnamese food ive ever tasted. Broth taste like soap with chili, fried rice was like mexican rice, meat was tough unedible and tasteless, noodles clumped up. The cook must be having a bad day read more

I probably ordered at least 50 times from this place. I admit I like going for safe choice when it comes to food than venture around to find new. But this place has the BEST bubble teas in the area! I am a bubble tea drinker with almost 10 years experience lol, and if you are used to drinking Kungfu tea, Cha time, Bubble island, GongCha..... this place will help you quench your nostalgic thirst. Thank you Chopstix for being there for me and working with Ubereats to deliver fresh to my front door. P.s. Their pho is pretty good too. Just wish they put sliced onions in it and a bit more generous with dipping sauce. read more

Really good Vietnamese fusion fair. Try the lemon grass anything. I especially like the chicken and beef.

Ordered a vegetarian pho soup and they give you a small side plate of basil leaves and this critter comes crawling out. They weren't apologetic about it at all. I'm extremely grossed out and my stomach has been upset since leaving the restaurant earlier. I won't ever be back. read more

This used to be a quality ingredients and respectful food place to get grub. Now it is disgusting. The chicken is old meat by taste. The salad had rotting lettuce and old cucumber...The boba tea is more ice. Mike your restaurant food and service needs to be addressed. I had to drink down my beverage to stop from throwing up the rotten cucumber. I do not recommend until there is a better cook and quality fresh ingredients. Someone request a health inspection please. I have been farting all night after eating but constipated. read more

Very great food very nice place I drive every time I go to the north just to eat there I love there food

4 stars because Chopstix serves delicious food, at large amounts and reasonable prices, it is one of two places that sells good boba drinks, and it's the closest thing to Vietnamese food in the area. I do prefer the pho from Noodle Bar at Seaside, though. The pho broth and soup selections aren't quite like Little Saigon in Southern California, but fill that pho craving nonetheless. You can't go wrong with their appetizers such as the spring rolls, egg rolls, and calamari. The noodle dishes and rice dishes are delicious as well. Service is hit or miss, either because of traffic or the servers seem a bit inexperienced, but they try. Even with the quality of customer service and pho here, the boba, menu variety, and affordable prices in an expensive town make up for it. read more

Three to three-and-a-half stars. It's probably better for take out than it is for dining in (it can be rather loud & frenzied in there). The veggie spring rolls were pretty tasty, especially with the peanut sauce, but I found them a little gummy, and I didn't really notice the presence of the veggie ham. The bun bo hue chay (spicy vegetarian noodle soup) was good--as was the portion. Just the right level of spicy for me. The best thing we had was the green papaya salad--delicious and refreshing. Service was friendly but kind of scattered. read more

With so many reviews complaining about slow service, when we entered and saw there were no tables available (8pm) we were apprehensive. We needn't have been. We were seated in less than 5 minutes, ordered in another few minutes, and had our food less than 10 minutes after that. Our server was friendly (and cute!), and the food prices are scarily cheap. I had the Wonton soup, described as coming with "chicken, shrimp, and mixed vegetables". I'm not a fan of pork, so the pork wontons didn't do much for me, but there were quite a few (about a dozen, or so it seemed). The chicken and mixed veggies were also reasonably abundant, especially for a $6.50 price tag (for large; regular size is only $5.50). However, there were only TWO, count 'em TWO, shrimp (in a size that definitely lived up to their name), which seemed to me to be a bit too few. My companion had the Bun Bo Hue, which is a spicy beef soup with vermicelli noodles. It was "average", which is I think a good summary for both our meals. Given the price and the service, however, I think it was more than acceptable. An excellent value, just don't expect the food to wow you. read more

House milk tea boba here is amazing. Lemongrass chicken plate is also good, the problem with Chopstix is the service. It's friendly enough, but highly disorganized. If you order to-go, make sure to open the box and check you got the right thing, don't just take their word for it. read more

Chopstix - House milk tea boba and mango slush boba - Vietnamese Near Me - Monterey, California

Oh what to do when you aren't familiar with the area and craving milk tea? I pull up my trusty yelp app and search away. And it led me here. Pretty disappointed to see not many milk tea shops in this area. The next one was in salinas! This place a little further away from the main attractions of cannery row and the aquarium. There is a small parking lot on the side of the building. Came in and ordered only the milk tea. As I was waiting, I spied on the food people were devouring and it looked tasty. I'll probably have to come back to try the food. The almond milk tea and regular milk tea was good enough for the area that has none. A tad on the sweeter side but the chewy pearls made up for it. read more

Love this spot for lunch. Simple, quick and delicious dishes, most about 7 bucks each. If you're a fan of bubble tea they've got all the flavors you could think of and they're nicely balanced/not sickeningly sweet. The boba always tastes fresh too, yum Great service too, fast and friendly. I like the 5b pho with tripe and all the beef cuts, and the chicken stir fry is delish, but ask for it with rice- it stays crispier that way. read more

I'm not sure if there was a chance in management, but there has definitely been a change in service. We have been coming here for over a couple years or so but we haven't been back for the past several months. The regular workers and servers are gone and have been replaced by people who definitely need more help. The last time we went, it took 15 minutes to get our waters and another 10 to ask to get our orders taken. Some system needs to be put in place so that orders are not misplaced, tables don't get double the water they need, and customers are seated in the order they arrived. If you still like the food but don't want the headache of coming in, I suggest you call in your order as those seem to take priority over the people dining in. I'd give five stars for their food and boba and drinks. I'd give one start for effort in costumer service. Hence the average of 3 starts. read more

I really enjoy getting a Boba tea every once in a while but I walked into this business and the owner was sitting at a table texting, he did not look at me or addressed me and he got up and walked to the counter, I mentioned I was picking up a T, he then continued to text. He then reached into the refrigerator and grabbed my tea, swiped my card and well he stood there with my card in his hand finished his text and then handed the card to me. This was not professional at all and so I said to him I'm sorry I interrupted his text and he said no no this is business, I am updating the website. He has all day to finish his text, he could've been attentive to this customer, this will be the last time I go there unfortunately. read more

I simply asked for my drink to be remade because I was given the wrong order and one of the employees gave me right away attitude.

Great value!!! Read about this place in the Monterey Weekly and had to try... Glad I did! Yumo!! I had the Mandarin Wings which were ok @ only $5.50! They hubby had the lemongrass beef (highly recommend) @ only $5.50 as well! Realized that u had to purchase $15 in order to use our debit card so decided to order specialty drinks & appetizer... Skip the calamari appetizer... But DO NOT skip their delish little drinks! DO try the matcha green tea!! Yummy!!! Will def be back!!! read more

As a vegan, this place has good options for vegans and vegetarians. I really like the glass noodle plate and the spicy bbq tofu plate as well. It's not spicy at all but just add sracha and you got your self battling tears like a really bad heartbreak. Also the veggie spring rolls are super delicious. Don't forget to dip them with the peanut sauce! It's like riding down the chocolate river from Willy wonka's chocolate factory but with peanut sau read more

I ordered lemongrass chicken with vermicelli noodles. The dish didn't even taste the slightest of lemongrass. The only seasoning on the chicken that was noticable was black pepper. Their BBQ pork dish was supposed to come with veggies. It came with 1 slice of cucumber, 1 slive of tomato, and a little bit of shredded lettuce. The heated pork was placed on top of the veggies, causing them to wilt. One of their servers was asked for two bowls so a dish could be split among small children. She brought the dishes and simply plopped them on the table and walked away. She did not look like she wanted to be there. I get that behind the scenes she might be having a rough day, so perhaps this part of the review isn't warranted. Let's also hope their don't ever turn on the ceiling fans because the clumps of dirt would fly off the fan blades into your food. Perhaps they only good thing I can say is their generous portion sizes. read more

Great spot for sandwiches, pho, snacks, and boba. I like the sandwiches a lot and the boba for lunch. They have a lot of different styles of making their boba like with ice, with or without milk, boba or jelly. You can order ahead online. Also multiple locations. read more

When I was there, we were grateful to dine in. It's three stars because the soup was ok, the boba was super hard. I had to ask for more hoisin sauce, fish sauce and chili oil just for it to taste good. Also, I could tell that the chicken in my pho was old. It wasn't fresh. Don't use old ingredients. I won't be going back, especially when there are other options. read more

We pretty much always go here when we are in Monterey. Hot pho after a cold and windy tidepooling at Lover's Point is perfect. Flavors are authentic but a little mild. Price is good. Menu is diverse. They do more than just pho. But, portion sizes can be small. Expect service to be very very slow and sometimes there is a bit of a wait. To hack this, I recommend either using Yelp eats or the phone to call and order the Vietnamese sandwiches ahead instead of eating at the restaurant. Pearl tea was good too. read more
