Chopsticks have good food, including pretty good kimchi and beef fried rice, egg rolls are also not bad at all for only $.75 each. Service is great with a couple Asian ladies working there who are very friendly and make me smile. Not much in the way of ambiance since they are mostly takeout but it's clean. I didn't pay for it, so can't comment on prices. Was visiting nearby & they bought takeout for 5. For me: * Flavor: Meh. If you are from the northeast or ever lived near a Chinatown, like in San Francisco, this is not how it's prepared. It's southern, so greasy & fried to death, no spices & far too much oil. Fried rice is just that... no veggies are added but you can get a few pieces of greasy, cheap meat added. * Portions: Disappointing. I was stunned when he walked in with 2 plastic bags, that's it. Anywhere else if you order for 5, that's 2 giant paper bags stapled closed. Portions are small, not the overflowing syrefoam box I'm used to that's enough for a reheated 2nd meal. I got egg foo young & beef fried rice. Couldn't find any egg in it, no sprouts or scallions. It was a hunk of fried batter. The on-the-side "gravy" was sweet & a pile of gluey cornstarch. It tasted like someone tossed a packet of sweet & sour into it. I've never had anything but thick brown gravy with EFY... savory, never sweet. It was disgusting & inedible. Rice was bland & plain. Everyone else didn't mind their food (I don't think they rave about it, but they said it's the best in LH, which should be a flashing neon sign) cuz they're not connoisseurs of food (they mostly eat cans & packets of glop from a crockpot) & don't know authentic food of any sort, let alone Chinese. I feel like I ate bland rice & a bunch of fried coating. It was repulsive. People kept laughing at me saying, "Ah, she's slowing down. She must be full." Nah, I was trying not to lose my lunch. I had to sneak out later to buy a couple of pieces of cooked chicken at Grocery Outlet, which wasn't great (too much smoky flavor & pricey), but edible. Sorry... 0* out of 5. I might give less than zero if I found out the price... I'm sure it was at least $10+, not a lunch/dinner special. If that's the best in LH, either go to another town or skip it & make your own at home. It's not hard, you just have to find an Asian market to buy veggies... I know of 2 & I'm just visiting. The vegetable lo mein was disgusting! No flavor vegetables overcook noodles over cook to be honest I don't even think they were lo mein noodles. They tasted way too gummy. The kimchi was good. Absolute disappointment. My co workers and I ordered lunch. Not one thing tasted good and Chopsticks is now the joke of my work. All dishes missed two things: flavor and quality. Pad Thai had barely any sauce: upon stirring the noodles they were all clumped and bare. The chicken in the pad Thai was way over cooked and nasty similar to chewing on styrofoam. The one shrimp in it was good but maybe got out there by mistake. No peanuts, a staple of pad Thai. Cilantro? Again not really pad Thai. Also lacked the most important thing: FLAVOR! Crab Rangoons luke warm, flavorless, and dry. At least there was fake crab in it. Barely edible so we fed it to a stray cat Wings "taste like cardboard or Walmart freezer chicken". They looked like they were put in the container then microwaved to heat up. Even the container looked like it had been microwaved. Terribly overcooked. They were burnt to the bottom of container. Egg rolls overcooked/over fried. Lo Mein (gross mein): tasted like spaghetti noodles with olive oil (or some type of random oil). Shrimp lo mein "terrible" and we had to add soy sauce to make it edible. Some shrimp so maybe that's where the random shrimp came from in the other dishes. I guess they're trying to cut seafood costs. Happy family (dysfunctional family per my co worker) had no flavor and no amount of soy sauce could help this one. Two shrimp in here, maybe another fluke? Wish there were more. No plastic ware, napkins, chop sticks, fortune cookies or anything else conducive to take out lunch. I visited Chopsticks for the first time a few days ago. I ordered my favorite Beef and Broccoli with fried rice. It was horrible. It was beef and broccoli in brown beef gravy, BROWN BEEF GRAVY (for roast beef sandwiches). I've had beef and broccoli from many different restaurants and this was awful. I took one bite, spit it out and threw the whole thing in the garbage. I'd be afraid to try anything else. read more

The rice was gross and did not taste fresh. The chicken was bland and the egg rolls were meh. This restaurant serves too large of a variety of food that is not even all from the same culture. Almost of the food does not even come from the same country. A large part of the menu seems to be Chinese so I do not understand why there are Vietnamese pho or some Korean dishes. I have been eating here since 1991 when I was 16 and worked across the parking lot at Hardee's (now a Burger King). I occasionally waited on the owner and she was always the nicest lady when I came into Chopsticks. They had the best chicken fried rice on the planet and the shrimp egg roll was pretty delicious. Each year the fried rice gets a little worse (although it was pretty fab for 20 years). Tonight our egg rolls sat on the counter for 15 minutes while the other food cooked. The chicken in my fried Rice was hard as a rock and the shrimp egg roll was cold and hard. The ladies at the front counter was rude and uncaring. I've memorized the phone number (one of the few I know in the days of smart phones) but after tonight I am going to try to block it from my memory, because I don't see a trip in the future. I wish I could ask Cindy what happened to this little restaurant that could because it no longer seems to even try and it makes me a little sad. read more

As I alluded to in my review (5 years ago, wow!) Chopsticks is kind of a local institution. Before we had Chinese food - we had Chopsticks. I have been coming here occasionally since I was a little kid living in Lynn Haven, and I have come to appreciate the nostalgia value behind this virtually unchanged, unique "Oriental" eatery. This is not your one-size-fits all China 1 or Red Dragon order-by-the-pictures type Chinese food. I still haven't got much more adventurous with my menu choices here, but the reason for the star bump, besides nostalgia value, is that the prices are still the same as they were in 1995. This is my second trip to this lovely restaurant. I just moved back to this area three days ago. This place is a unexpected hidden gem. I first tried their Udon Noodle Soup and was so impressed. I woke up this morning at 5:00 a.m. By 9:30 I was starving and wanted breakfast. I started looking to see what restaurants Doordash offered. I actually wanted Waffle House, but alas they do not deliver for this restaurant. You know... the one we've all ended up at around 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning after a night of adult beveraging. I don't mean me... I've never done such a thing! (I'm sorry... that was Fake News.) Anyway, I saw a picture of an eggroll and decided that I would wait until 11:30 and have Doordash delivery from Chopsticks Oriental. What the hell was I thinking?! This was the first time we've ordered from them. With my ongoing quest to discover THE BEST Chinese food wherever I happen to be living, I've come across some of what I thought were pretty lousy restaurants. This one is the winner of that title. I gave it a rating of 1 star because there were no zero stars to be found, plus the eggrolls were kinda okay. I offer up no photos just in case you're craving Chinese food. I don't want your appetite ruined. So, here's what we ordered: #1 Shrimp w/Lobster Sauce: (The lobster sauce, the little bit that it had, was congealed and if there was lobster stock in that dish I'll kiss your a.. um, lobster tail. The shrimp was overcooked and it was sort of like chewing on rubber bands.) # 2 Moo Goo Gai Pan: (The chicken, [ if that's what it really was ], was tougher than hockey pucks. I guess to make up for that they had a vast array of cookery on the veggies, ranging from "hammered and slimy" to "harder than Chinese arithmetic". Who knew you can have food so differently cooked in one dish? *shrug* That takes years of experience, I guess. This, too, was supposed to be a dish laden with a rich white sauce. Ummm... sauce? Really? Again, what little there was, was cold, gelatinous, and as tasteless as an Andrew Dice Clay poem. His poems make me laugh, the Moo Goo made me angry. Still have a hankerin' for Chinese food? Wait there's more...) #3 Sweet and Sour Pork: (That's what they claim anyway. They gave us a big heaping helping, around 25-30 pieces of deep-fried breaded pork and one itty bitty cup of sweet and sour sauce. This dish was more rubbery than B.F. Goodrich. So much for GBD. (Golden Brown Deliciousness) More like Good-Bye Digestive (tract). ) #4 Chicken Egg Drop Soup: Ugh! It was more spoiled than a teenage Paris Hilton. BTW... Who screws up Egg Drop Soup?!? I've read some of the other reviews and see that it has some extreme reviews. People really love it or really hate it. Not too many in-betweeners. What a waste of $35.00. I'm still hungry. The food is great! The service, not so much. They can never understand me on the phone, and are always quite rude. Last time I used them, they called me three times because they didn't hear my card info correctly, then after delivering my food (which never should have been delivered if the card did not read correctly), they sent the driver back to my house (so long after that the food was already gone), to write down my card info correctly. I was extremely uncomfortable having him come back to my home after already dropping off my food. I would've preferred they refused to deliver than show up at my door like that. I've eaten at or gotten delivery from Chopsticks probably 50 or more times. The staff is so friendly and although the store always seems extremely busy, the food comes out fast and my order has never been wrong. My personal favorites are the Pho, Udon noodle soup, and Szechuan beef. The crab rangoon here is different than most Chinese places, but in a good way. It's addictive. read more
