Although I've had a different, but each equally capable stylist each time, all are experienced, positive, outgoing and worth the time. This visit I was introduced to Von. Von is an exceptional experienced woman who, earlier was a medical professional who did hair styling just for friends and acquaintances. Now, that's full time, with family. Mature and experienced, friendly and thoroughly professional. Cutting Cave, I have my ticket to future appointments covered! This establishment doesn't just ruin hair--it ruins your faith in humanity. First, the atmosphere. Imagine a cross between a run-down garage and a medieval torture chamber. The chairs creak ominously, and the mirrors are cracked, as if every customer had a moment of horror so profound they shattered the glass. The smell? A pungent blend of burnt hair, stale coffee, and despair. The staff... oh, the staff. They seem to have been handpicked for their lack of barbering skills. My barber (whose name tag simply said "Oops") wielded scissors like a toddler with safety shears. They confidently started shaving the middle of my head first, muttering something about "starting with the soul patch of the scalp." Their tools are relics from another century. The clippers sparked mid-use, and the scissors were so dull they seemed to tear rather than cut. I swear I saw one barber using a butter knife to shape a beard. The results? Let's just say I left looking like an abstract art installation. My "fade" was more of a "free fall," and my sideburns were two completely different lengths--one ended at my ear, the other somewhere near my chin. To top it off, they charged me extra for the "premium experience," which I assume was the complimentary spray of expired cologne that left me smelling like a musty basement. Would I go back? Only if every other barbershop in the multiverse vanished. Even then, I might take up wearing hats permanently. Avoid this place unless you're ready for an interdimensional bad-hair day. For a woman, to find that perfect place to get her hair done is a necessity. For men, it's different, but when they do find that one place, or better yet, that perfect stylist, it almost becomes a necessity. Enter The Stray Hare. For as long as I've lived here, there was only one place that I went, mainly because it was close to home. I had my fair share of stylists that came and went, but I finally found the perfect one. When I found out that she was managing The Stray Hare, it was only natural to jump ship and follow her, despite it being on the opposite end of Pooler Parkway. When you walk in, a vibe just hits you. Great music playing, free drinks and beer, an array of colored chairs, happy employees, and did I mention free beer? The ambience is more than you'd expect from a barber shop/hair styling shop. It has that local feel to it, almost like you want to hang out, drink a beer, and chat it up. If you haven't tried this place out, it's a must. They do kids cuts and girls cuts as well. Much of the staff is from a "sporty" place on the other side of Pooler, so they are well experienced and just all around great people. I first want to say this is a great barbershop I usually go to Melissa and she does a fantastic job but recently I had to do a last minute haircut with another girl and 2 things were terrible 1 I told her I didn't enjoy taking much and she continued to tell me about how her husband hates her kid and what not which is highly unprofessional and 2 she didn't clean her clippers and I chose a medium skin fade that day so I bumped up bad for over a week the back of my head was more red than a bottle of old spice shampoo so hedge your bets and pick the right stylist read more

Well, they lost a perspective customer! I showed up shortly after 6:00 PM as I work until 5:30 PM. If I remember correctly, there were four stylists with customers in the chairs and three customers waiting. The young lady I spoke with at the register said that she'd be happy to schedule me for an appointment the following day, but "we're booked solid". I don't have time during the day to leave work to get my hair cut, I was expecting to get it cut when I walked into the barbershop. Very disappointed in the response given by the stylist. Apparently not everyone has the same work ethics. 7:00 PM means walking out the door and locking the doors behind them instead of walking in the door at 6:05 PM and STILL get your haircut. I guess finding a good barbershop IS difficult to find that has "reasonable" hours of operation! Let's see how they respond to the negative review! read more

So after failed attempts to find a good place for me and my kids to get a hair cut in the pooler area my wife and I googled "barbershop near me" and The Stray Hare came up..... I personally did not get a hair cut, but both my son and daughter did. The staff was super friendly with the kids as well as myself. They also did a fantastic job with great prices, not to mention the place is super clean. I called a head and they could see us within the hour, but did say they take walk in's.
