Chong is the Chinese Restaurant that never disappoints! The food is freshly prepared, flavourful and they are piping hot. I particularly like their General Tso Chicken and vegetable fried rice: the perfect amount of seasoning, and a lot of food in one plate. People working there are very amicable and there is prompt service both when you sit in to eat as well as on takeaway. It is a place we come when we need a Chinese comfort food. read more

My first order in this place. I ordered egg drop soup when I got home the color of the soup was oranges with chunks of eggs in it not mixed in it. I order beef and broccoli, lo mei, special fried rice, chicken wings, and some ribs. When I received the order the beef and broccoli was sad amount of beef. This was 13$ so I called them to tell them what was going on. The lady that took my order number and asked for my phone number, name, and description on the driver that delivery food. After 5 mins another lady called me which I'm guessing was the owner since I really don't think any one would want to hire this lady called tell me that she packed my order and she added EQUAL amounts of steak to broccoli. We can both see ain't no EQUAL amounts here. She processed to scream on the top of her lungs that she is here to help customers but she made no mistake this time and I was lying. I asked her if I should send her pictures but she just processed to repeat over and over she made no mistake, not acknowledging me now once after I asked if she needed a picture. The One star is for the Wong tong cream cheese. Customer service is horrible. They hung up on me after I was patiently waiting for 30 minutes then they block my number when I tried to call back . It's Highly requested that there needs to be new management ASAP. Focus on hiring a whole new team because what this place has is a bad reputation. This place is really good overall. The fried rice is loaded with ham, shrimp, chicken, pork, bean sprouts, scallions and is absolutely delicious. I was really surprised that it comes with combination plates. Most other places just gives you fried rice with pork or chicken. The ribs were delicious. Moist, tender and not too sweet. The egg roll was ok. Not the best. The fan tail shrimp were a little overcooked and too crunchy. I still loved the food overall. Definitely a quick good lunch spot to visit. I ordered carry out tonight from this restaurant. I was really craving Chinese food and based on all the reviews I read for the Chinese restaurants in the area, I wasn't expecting much. I also find it interesting how the Chinese food restaurants have such hit or miss reviews. I couldn't find a single restaurant with consistently good or bad reviews. Frustrating! I decided to take a leap of faith and try this one. Glad I did as I was pleasantly satisfied. This restaurant, like many of the others in the area, serves a variety of both Chinese and Latin food. If you want to sip a cortadito with your General Tso's chicken, there ya go ( not that I would ever combine the two).. Anyway, I digress.. The woman who answered the phone was very nice. She didn't speak much English but we were able to get by with my Spanglish. I ordered a quart of the roast pork fried rice ($7.29) and the chicken with broccoli ($8.99). I ordered carry out so I can't comment on the delivery service. I was told that it would take 15 minutes and sure enough it was ready by the time I got there. The pork fried rice was delicious. It could've used a few more pieces of pork but it was very tasty. The chicken and broccoli was also very good. Yummy Chinese food in the heart of little Havana! I would definitely recommend only take out as the place is not well lit and the atmosphere isn't great. The food is fantastic. My favorites off their menu are the crispy wontons with cream cheese and their dipping sauce. The Chinese fried drive with all the proteins. Chicken wings are bomb.com! Took a chance on Chong's my first night in little Havana and I was pleasantly surprised. Even though virtually everyone I met spoke very little to no English I was still able to order an amazing meal. I tried the crab Rangoon as an appetizer that was actually made with real lump crab meat, cream cheese, and black pepper. I honestly did not expect real crab meat and the portion size (I got about ten!). So obviously I was excited, Rangoon's were made to order and had a nice crunch to them. To drink I ordered the Passionfruit aguas fresca (amazing)! Finally for my entree I decided to step completely out of the box and order the Oxtail (a staple in Latin and Caribbean culture) and again to my surprise everything was delicious. I got a large portion of food with rice and yellow plantains. Chong's is very unique because the menu is trilingual and the pictures outside (with the authentic menu description made me really want to see what Chong's was all about). Overall really satisfied I walked in, the restaurant had only two other patrons so there was virtually no wait time. I got so much food for under 25$ that of course I took it back to the hotel and had it for a midnight snack :) loved everything and I'll be back to try something else. read more

Good food great price. It's hard to find a place with Real Cantonese Chop Suey Combinations and awesome fried rice. I added steak to my fried rice for a $2 up charge. I ate like a champion, all my favorites for $10.05 tax included. The place was clean and smelled very clean. The service was very nice and attentive. All they are missing is a steak chop suey combo and complimentary hot tea like their other location in Coral Gables which also has egg drop soup with their tasty combos. read more

Let me start by saying, I created a yelp because of my disappointment with my order from Chong's. I ordered three items: The Latin Roasted Pork Special (it comes with rice and maduros). Fried Rice with Chicken Lo Mein with Chicken I found the restaurant with google and their menu was listed. I called for delivery and they took my order and read me my total and it sounded like $20.76. The total read to me over the phone seemed to be aligned with the menu. They took my address down wrong and apparently the driver got lost. When he finally got to me about an hour later the order was completely wrong. Here is what I received. 1. Pork with Chinese vegetables. 2. Maduros 3. 2 sides of white rice 4. "Chicken Fried Rice" although the chicken had more of a tofu consistency and i'm nervous to consume any of it. 5. Lo Mein (although there are barely any noodles and mostly just vegetables and something that resembles pork, but is suppose to be chicken) Not only was all the food wrong but they charged me for each individual side rather than the special price that was listed. When I contacted the restaurant to inform them of the mistake they said the menu on google is not correct and I should go to their website. I did and they still had the same items I ordered with slightly higher prices. The lady apologized and said unfortunately she could only make one of the orders right and couldn't send me replacement orders for the meals they messed up. I work in a restaurant, I was willing to even give the food back yet they didn't want to make it right for their customer. Rather than 20.76 I paid 32.00 for food that I ended up throwing in the garbage shoot! I highly suggest they contact google to fix the prices so more customers don't feel this way. Love this place! I've been coming here ever since I was a little girl. I'm obsessed with their lo mein, I have it all the time. For only 5$ they give you at least two servings of lo mein noodles (without meat). Their beef fried rice and side of fries are delicious as well! The servers seem nice. The place itself is a little run down (restaurant owners cant do anything about it since the building is owned by someone else) but makes up for it with good cheap authentic chinese food. The food is fresh, they make everthing to order. They get a lot of regular customers coming in every day. Its the only Chinese restaurant I keep going back to. read more
