Just arrived to Puerto Rico and one of the few cafe's that was open early for breakfast. Close to the airport and even closer to the port for cruises. Staff attentive and friendly. One of them offered use of their outlet to charge my husband's phone. Cafe was very open, with plenty of windows that allowed for excellent lighting. Cafe offered a breakfast buffet or à la carte. We opted to à la carte and the buffet was too pricey for the options offered, which was nothing out of the ordinary, American breakfast. Chicken Longaniza Benedict seasoned well and perfectly cooked. The Sheraton PR Breakfast was just ok. Sausage bland and tasted waxy. Overall, staff friendliness made this a pleasant dining experience. read more

We were staying in the Sheraton so this was an easy stop for breakfast. The buffet is rather pricey so we stuck with ordering from the menu. I chose the oatmeal which came with granola, raisins, and cinnamon. I would have much rather had brown sugar instead of cinnamon. I also like a little bit of milk with my oatmeal and it did not come with that. It was just ok. Husband got some huge breakfast with just about everything. His over-medium eggs were cooked perfectly (which rarely happens). I ate his French toast which was very good. He also had potatoes, toast, and bacon. It was a lot to eat so I was happy to help him out. He loved his breakfast so I upped my rating by a star. Service was good. Latte was good, although they were a bit small so I ordered two. Typical hotel breakfast aura. Lots of business people and a view of a parking ramp. read more

I'm rating my breakfast and service 5 stars. I could have done a more self serve breakfast but wanted a sit down full service type meal and got it. Joseph E was all smiles and helpful a nice way to start your morning especially if you are solo. I had the Breakfast Quesadilla with bacon instead of the sweet ham. The sweet ham was new for me and I was reluctant to try it. Unless you are an oversize eater, this will be to much food for 1 meal. Joseph offered me a to-go box and I took it after he told me there is a microwave on the 4th floor I could use. No microwaves in my Sheraton hotel room. There is a small refrigerator though. The Quesadilla is 5 stars worthy too. I even enjoyed the coffee. The milk was served warm instead of cold, a nice touch. So the milk doesn't turn your coffee cold. We decided to just do deserts. I ordered the churros with dipping sauces (chocolate, berry and caramel). We also ordered the flan de maíz. They brought the churros out in a wagon (see photos) announcing "churros." They were hot and all the dipping sauces were delicious. We struggled with the flan de maíz. The corn didn't quit mix with the flan so we ate the two separately. Overall it was quite a desert adventure. read more

Incredibly welcoming and accommodating service, tasty food, and nice restaurant! Chef Jorge and Chef Eric accommodated gluten free, dairy free, poultry free, salt free, and hot food even when their restaurant was not open (lunches and dinners), gave me the food on a tray in ceramic bowls with metal utensils to avoid plastic with hot food that creates environmental hormones that make us sick and also help me eat in the room, and used the money I paid to the conference for some meals to give me the meals I can eat. They also worked with me for the budget I had per meal. I arrived earlier and called Chef Jorge for breakfast, but he still cooked clams with yellow rice. It tested so good and helped after a long trip. Their butternut squash soup tasted very good; I had it for all breakfasts. Their pulled pork and fish with yellow rice and pico de gallo tasted very good as well. When I paid more than the usual price to the conference for certain meals, they gave us more fish or beverages. Chef Jorge called me earlier to arrange the meals (even breakfasts at 6:30am I needed), and Chef Eric arranged time with me for meals. They let me know their phone numbers, so that we can text one another for the time of the meals. Chef Eric arranged free parking on the first evening, even though we took out food when the restaurant did not open. Thanks to them, I could survive and function during a conference that usually makes me suffer from all gluten, dairy, and cold/raw food. The restaurant itself was very nice and open as well; it looked like a happy place with the sunlight and kind servers. Stayed at Sheraton Resort and Casino Puerto Rico for a conference. Até at the Choices breakfast buffet daily and it was amazing! The coffee was excellent, dark enough and served at perfect immediately drinkable temperature. The buffet is fantastic! They have scrambled eggs, but you have the option of ordering eggs any style for no additional charge. I ordered poached eggs one day and omelete the order, both fantastic! There are also several amazing roasted vegetables and a large selection of delicious fruit that taste like fruit is supposed to taste! Staff was fantastic too, super kind, asked if I wanted to speak English or Spanish which was refreshing compared to just assuming. Overall fantastic breakfast/brunch place at the Sheraton in PR. read more

Llegamos y esperamos varios minutos y nos ubicaron en nuestra mesa. Luego pedí un plato que eran Tostadas de Pulpo y las trajeron rápido. Y enseguida pedimos nuestros respectivos platos. Luego de 1 hora y 10 minutos esperando por muestra platos llegó la gerente al cargo a informar que había un problema con nuestra órdenes. Nos pregunto que habíamos pedido por que había una confusión. Se disculpó por la situación ocurrida y luego trajeron el primer plato que había pedido!! Lo que me había comido primero no era mi plato. Bueno al final de todo casi dos horas nos dijeron que no teníamos que pagar por la situación ocurrida. Nos dieron Piña Coladas, nuestros platos casi por que se volvieron a confundirse y que si queríamos postres pero ya era imposible comer. Agradezco la intervención de la gerente de turno y el mesero se disculpó varias veces por la situación ocurrida. Cosas que pasan algunas veces. I am staying at the Sheraton and had a voucher for breakfast here. I got the Continental breakfast dish and am disappointed. Tons of bread and some basic cut fruit. All of the bread items taste pre-packaged. Completely forgettable. Prompt service and fast seating give it the extra star. read more

We are staying at the Sheraton and didn't want to go far for dessert and just some apps. So we decided to try the restaurant next to the cafe. It was very gorgeous and staff is extreme friendly. This is one of the restaurants inside the Sheraton and the least appealing of the four. The breakfast buffet (they also have an a la carte menu) is a typical hot table with scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, and sausage plus waffles, some melon and fruit choices, and yogurt. The price is $20 weekdays and $25 on weekends with the omelette bar. The hostess, servers, and the manager are very nice but not very attentive. Of course not much was required of them since it was a self-service buffet, but I still had to ask the manager for a refill on my coffee and orange juice. Twice. Servers walk past with a pot of hot coffee directly to their own tables and never check whether other tables might like a refill while they are nearby. Dinner is good, although the menu is limited. The salads seem small to me at $9 and $10 each without adding protein. My favorite dish is the shredded pork cannolis. read more

My husband and I returned to Choices the next evening with friends. Again, the food was excellent! Even better was that we had a different server, Veronica, who was so friendly, so sweet, and so attentive. The night before we had Gabriel, who was certainly competent, but just lacked that friendliness that I like to see in a server. Three of us had the fish tacos and they were superb. I believe the other person had a ceviche dish and it looked delicious. I have no idea why this restaurant only has three and a half stars. The food was AMAZING! Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the steak fajitas, which came with a spicy marinade. The choice salad was good, and don't even get me started on the fried chicken appetizer, it was to die for. In the morning, we went for breakfast and again was not disappointed. I'm a frequent visitor of the Sheraton and for all of the shortcomings the hotel has the restaurant is pretty great. The service is courteous and diligent and they're a pretty chill staff. The menu has changed once since I started going, however, its now very simple and clean. I've had the churrasco steak and the lemon salmon many times here. Both are great meals. This place is def a 3 $ restaurant, but you get a great filling meal from whatever you order. We started with a brunch buffet. Most of the food was gone (out, empty) and wasn't replaced. Very little choice and $25 each. Not worth it. Then we had lunch another day. I ordered a cubano sandwich. It was a plain hoagie with lunchmeat, processed Swiss cheese and a squirt of mustard and 2 pickle slices. It was like what my son has at school lunch. Girl that takes you to the table was nice and friendly. Then slow:- Took 25 mins to get wine. Only 6 others in restaurant. Food was incredibly salty, chorizo tasteless, wings ok but salty. Service was terrible. Slow is an understatement, unprofessional and frankly strange. Asked for table to be cleaned after tapas, met with a chuckle as if I was joking. Didn't clean table. Nor did girl who collected plates or same waiter bringing coffee and dessert. When the girl brought us dessert she went to get us spoons. Waiter questioned why she was getting new spoons, we could just use the coffee spoons!! When i pointed out that maybe I didn't want coffee tasting dessert, another chuckle. This is inside the Sheration San Juan Hotel and Casino but unlike most hotel restaurants this is a gem of a restaurant. It morphs from a breakfast cafe to a light lunch restaurant and at night blossoms into a true gourmet experience. Take my advice, graze through their tapas menu as every dish I tried was excellent. The dumplings, duck on to stones, seafood plate, everything was something I could have again and again. Their main courses are equally as tasty but they are very big portions so bring your appetite. The servers we had were Derek, Marc, Jorge and Gabriel...all were excellent, well-versed in their dishes and made the mean so excellent. We've been there four times now and our final dinner in San Juan will be there. read more

We didn't know what to expect since we were staying in the Condado area and got this pay $29 for $60 worth of open consumption. We thought this was going to be a sort of generic hotel restaurant so before going we tried to find the menu. The restaurant's Facebook page had a Modern Latino menu that seemed interesting but the page had not been updated in a while so we didn't know if it was current. When we arrived the menu posted at the entrance was somewhat different but still had a similar theme to the one on FB. We were promptly seated and given the menus and were surprised that yet again the actual menu was more Mediterranean Latino than anything else. We ordered the Veal Ossobuco, Shrimp Pasta and Brick Chicken and from the Kid's Menu the Sliders and Kid's Pasta. We got a basket of bread which was warm and fresh and also decided to go for a Spanish Naan Pizza as an appetizer. Kids were served first and liked what they had. We waited a bit more, ate all the bread and finally our food came along with the appetizer and drinks. Well, we were definitely pleasantly surprised, presentation, taste size, it all was great. Ossobuco was fork-tender as our waiter said, Chicken was tasty, and the Shrimps were jumbo, though the Pasta was bit smaller size-wise (still enough left for to takeout). For dessert we shared a Chocolate Lava Cake which was good. Though prices for our main dishes were a bit on the high side (mid $20s) and thankfully we had the "Gustazos" offer, we enjoyed our meal and would definitely recommend this place. read more

Everyone was very nice, seated us quickly, but waiters kind of stood around, nice that they weren't bothering us but they also took awhile to come around and the restaurant wasnt that full... Food was average, my wife got the foccacia sandwich and liked it, I got the turkey melt or turkey club and my bread was rubbery and turkey was dry. Honestly might try them again but that meal wasn't how we wanted to start our honeymoon. read more
