Kid gained weight since ordering Choicelunch the past 6 months. now we have to stop subscribing the plan. Sure, my kid doesn't like to eat normal veggies like broccoli or cucumbers. But maybe you could cook some tasteless veggies like Spanish or zucchini into pancake. use better carbs instead of white rice, refined grains, pasta, Hawaii bread... private school parents care about healthy food more than just hooking the kids with carb and sugar. Here are some suggestions to implement: 1, The Asian choices are too limited if you don't like carb (noodles). I hope you could add more healthier alternatives like Chinese stir fry tomato scrambled egg over brown rice; or LuRouFan : a Taiwanese braised pork over brown rice. Those are going to get you more Bay Area private school parents (high percentage of Asian fam) convert. 2, adding Spanish into scrambled egg for breakfast for lunch will show some effort to help kids eat healthy. Or add fine grated carrot onion into burger patties. (I understand some kids don't like tomato slice or cucumber or onion, but Spanish/zucchini is tasteless. ) please invest in healthier options of the same foo. 3, there are way too many pasta (refined carb heavy) dishes. Those will cause insulin spike and pre-diabetes if consumed daily like us. Introducing good carb alternative like sweet potato, brown rice. 4, if you could switch the oil to olive oil when cooking cheese burgers, or pasta, that would be great. Our school switched to Choice Lunch last year because the user experience was better for families and there are more options. Personally I miss our previous provider "School Foodies." Choice lunch contracts their Friday pizza out to local Papa John's in the area. I have a friend who owns a Papa John's who was contacted for the contract and he was shocked at their low ball offer. They also now offer pizza pockets everyday of the week and it's all bread and barely any filling. The kids take two bites and throw it away. The only item I believe is worth ordering (as an adult) are the salads. A few times the salad was inedible because the lettuce was wet, soggy, brown and Choice Lunch refunded my money right away. *Their customer service is excellent.* You are better off making your child buttered noodles at home (save $6.46 for the small and $7.82 large). read more

I tried ordering for the month October in the mid September but it wasn't available on the system. So by the time October 1 came guess what..I miss the order deadline. But the company already charged me for the entire month of October already. What's worse.. They didn't provide my child emergency lunch like they said on the website. It's a total lie! So no lunch for her on October 3 and 4 but they charged me for it. I have the every day plan. Don't trust the emergency lunch they claim to provide. It's non existent! Oh and the order reminder is also non existent! They give you a very tight time frame to order lunch. If you miss it, too bad for your kids but they will still charge you on the plan. This place is a scam! Oh and they don't have real people answering your call. Just a machine message that tell to email them but take forever to respond. I wish school would just leave this place and give us a better option. I'll bring it up in our next meeting. This is to respond to the business. 1) your emergency lunch is not due to availability. I spoke to my school, you guys have not given out emergency lunch this school year or last school year. 2) you already know in your system how many students are in the Every day meal plan, so when you see they did not select an entree, your know which one would need an emergency lunch. So, yes you can see in advanced which kid would need emergency lunch since you know who signed up for the meal plan, which you already charged to our account! 3) I check my spam folder. No, you guys don't send order reminder even when I have that on. You also don't give us the option to order months in advance. I couldn't order for October when I looked in mid September! read more

Love using Choice Lunch every other day for my daughter's lunches. Having to prepare a lunch every day was rather daunting with her starting school, and Choice Lunch has made it less so. Having this option available at my daughters school has been so helpful. It has saved me time every day from having to worry about what to pack for lunch. My daughter dislikes sandwiches and lunchables, which would be the Togo options I would go to if choicelunch wasn't available. With Choicelunch my daughter picks out her lunch for the week and snacks and drinks. I went through the reviews of Choicelunch and some of them are quite old. I am hoping to give an update for parents wondering if they should utilize this service or pack their child a lunch. I only use Choicelunch one or two times per week. I try my best to pack lunch for my daughter. However, when I am unable to do so, I feel confident that she is receiving a nutritionally balanced, delicious meal. The proof is in the pudding - her teachers tell me she eats the vegetables and fruit that joins the entree. My daughter also tells me the food is yummy. Choicelunch has an easy to use website and they offer a large number of choices per day which is super impressive when you think about it - having to prep all of of those options on a daily basis means they are over there working hard at getting children what they want! I also think the prices are very fair given this service saves me time and the product is quality. Personally, I am very happy with them and will continue to order from Choicelunch. read more

DO NOT waste your money on this horrible company. My daughter has only been signed up for three weeks and I am getting ready to pull out. How does a company justify making a mistake as big as a child not receiving any lunch at all? This has happened not once but twice now to my kindergartener. Customer service is literally non existent, as others have mentioned. For 17.00 per meal, I'm starting to think that this is one step up from a scam. Several times when my daughter actually has received her lunch, the sides such as cucumber and jicama have come home completely putrid, covered in white slime. Disgusting on all accounts, especially given that they market themselves as such a trustworthy company that "feeds your kids like their own." What a joke! read more

I love their Mac & Cheese! I was so impressed that on the day we cancelled school due to smoke from the Camp Fire, they donated all our hot lunches and those of all the other schools that closed, 5500 hot lunches in all, to the Hope Center in Oroville, Butte County. They even credited our families for the meals despite the late cancellation. I am so happy to partner with such a caring, committed company to provide hot lunches for the students at our school. We have been really happy with Choicelunch. I am the Managing Director at a school who uses them, as well as a parent of 3 children who get their lunches daily. As a parent I have been really impressed with the food quality and options. My kids LOVE the bean and cheese burritos, chow mien, BBQ chicken and overtime the variety has grown as their tastes have. I have even eaten the meals myself on occasion and they are really good. The prices are reasonable and their flexibility is really impressive. It is so nice to be able to adjust their lunches up to a day before. As a provider they are reliable, friendly, flexible and focused on quality. Anytime there has been an issue (which doesn't happen often) they have been quick to remedy it. All of their staff, from the account managers to the delivery folks, are friendly and professional. They are also a fantastic company as well. When the schools closed recently due to the fires they refunded all of our parents, which clearly was going to leave them on the hook for what turned out to be over 5000 meals! At $5 a pop (on average) that is approximately $25,000 in meals that they were willing to forgo, despite the fact that they had already made the investment. To make it even more impressive, their staff figured out how to get all of those meals to the front lines of the fires to help those who had been displaced. If that doesn't say something about the character of their staff and ownership, I am not sure what does. In summary, if you are looking for convenient, well priced, healthy, good variety and quality hot lunches for your child, I highly recommend choice lunch. If you are a school looking for a new option for your students, you will be in great hands with Choicelunch. read more
