For a while, it was appointment only at this particular office which was frustrating since I just started coming back here again during this time, and was not aware (I wouldn't have been on any email list regarding this either). This went on for a few months then finally I was told next time in person that they were back open as normal. Now you take a ticket (deli-style) but the wait isn't usually long at all. Plenty of seating, security in the corner, all good. Employees at the window have been nothing but friendly; I almost look forward to coming here since I've never had bad service. I had a complicated problem and Pedro and 2 others came out early am and started examining everything and began the process of elimination and pretty quickly found the source of the problem was coming from the company side of the pipes. They explained everything to me and what needed to happen. While they knew it was an issue they had to fix there were a few options as to what could happen to be able to fix it. They had to turn off the gas and someone else came out a few hours later and did some markings. Then around 6pm or so another crew came to fix the problem. It looked like this was going to be an all night kind of thing. It also looked like it could be a rip the street up fix. (Ugh!) But these super smart people looked into every other option (shout out to Tara and Josue!) and figured out the problem (a clogged pipe) and didn't have to rip anything up! They cleared it and made sure everything was working and were truly happy to see me so happy. These are people that clearly take pride in their work. They were all so smart and professional I was very very impressed. I didn't know what to expect and I will admit my cynical side expected that to fix the problem was going to be a nightmare and it was just the opposite. This morning Pedro called to check in and make sure all was well. I feel very lucky to have that group of people come to help me. I only wish I remembered all their names! They deserve praise!

If you desire a more communal public space, there are plenty of seats in the middle of the library. But if you are looking for a more quiet, subdued, isolated experience, check the far corners of the library at the end of some of the shelves and you'll find perfectly unoccupied spaces to be in your own zone. While I don't love that you have to take a ticket to park, the first two hours here are free. Bonus perk: you don't have to be a resident of Beverly Hills to have a Beverly Hills library card. I signed up for one and I'm looking forward to using this in addition to my LAPL card. Another bonus perk: they offer passport services here.

There are several seating areas with individual tables & chairs, which I like and prefer. Some stations have access to outlets. I came here to study for my real estate exam recently. It was nice to come straight after work & be able to get some studying done in a quiet and aesthetic place. They have free parking with a validation, which is a perk as well! The only complaint I have is that the library closes early, at 7:00 PM. It would be nice if they closed one or two hours later.
