The owner, John, was personable and helpful and offered sound advice on vinyl records and caring for my new player. In addition to picking up albums from Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and Bob Marley, I also picked up some handmade incense and a cleaning kit. Dragon Song carries used CDs, cassette tapes, and LPs - yes that's right - real vinyl albums! They also carry an assortment of other things: incense, figurines, wall tapestries and such. I believe you can bring in your used CDs, tapes, and albums and sell them to Dragon Song, I'd check on the details first before hauling a bunch of stuff over there. The proprietor of the shop was telling me that he is seeing a huge resurgence in vinyl. I used to visit the old location - this was my first time at the new location - and quite frankly - until I stumbled across the new location, I thought they had gone out of business! Very cool shop!

I looked at the prices of some of their home appliances and it was fairly priced. What put me off about this place was the restroom mainly. It was so dirty, and not maintained. I blame mostly customers for throwing stuff on the ground including dirty toilet paper, who does that? There were not a lot of employees but someone should check in on the bathrooms because it was so gross. The employee at the checkout was so sweet and welcoming though, so I think I would come back if I'm in the area again.

HUGE used book store and well worth the drive!…read more Their trade in process was really straightforward - when you walk in there's a trade in counter where they ask you to put your books into bins. I had one large bag that I sorted between two bins, one for books and the other for single issue comics and DVDs/non-books. About 45 minutes later I got a text that my trade-in was ready. I came back to the same counter after browsing the store and they offered me in-store credit or a lower amount in cash. They also returned the items they didn't want and I had the option to take them with me or leave them as a donation. I think it was a fair deal for what I donated, and I opted for the in-store credit. The store has a great mix of used books, dvds, comics, vinyl, and more that's pretty well organized. I will say there's a fair amount of duplicates of certain titles and it was interesting that some were priced higher than others - so check all the labels! In general the prices were reasonable with a few exceptions - I saw a really worn copy of a new hardback that they were selling for the list price ($35!) even though it had been out long enough that other books sellers were discounting it already. But then I also got a box set of dvds for $10 and a bunch of kids books for $0.50-2.00. It was easy to spend that in-store credit!

A wonderful bookstore with great staff and plenty of room to browse…read more I stopped at the Barnes & Noble bookstore in Manassas and had a wonderful experience. The store was easy to find and there was plenty of parking available when we visited. This is the kind of bookstore that reminds me why I still enjoy going to a physical bookstore rather than simply looking for books online. The front of the store has large windows that let in plenty of light, the ceilings are high, and there is a lot of room between the main aisles, which gives the store a very open and comfortable feeling. The store was also very clean and well organized. There was a very nice selection of books separated into the different categories, making it fairly easy to browse if you aren't looking for a specific title. What really made the visit enjoyable, however, was the staff. I was looking for several books and they were very helpful in quickly directing me to the sections I wanted to peruse. They were knowledgeable about the books and also offered some suggestions based on what I was looking for, which is one of the things I really appreciate about a good bookstore. My one disappointment was the relatively small Science Fiction section compared with the much larger Fantasy section. Since I read quite a bit of Science Fiction, I would have liked to see a larger selection devoted to it. That was a fairly minor drawback, though, compared with everything else I liked about the store. Overall, this is a wonderful Barnes & Noble with a great selection of books, knowledgeable and helpful staff, a clean and spacious interior, plenty of parking, and a convenient location. The new Barnes & Nobles Booksellers bookstore finally opened this morning in Gainesville, VA. It's…read morelocated in "The Shops at Stonewall" retail complex in the space previously occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond. I stopped in to check it out. The place was packed! It's a large B&N - much larger than the new one in Manassas that opened last year. And it has a B&N Cafe - which the new Manassas location does not have. After wandering the store, I picked up a hardcover of "The Silmarillion," one that I had not seen before. It's essentially re-packaging the outside of the book - but I wanted another copy. The checkout line was a bit long - there are 4 cashier stations. Paid with Apple Pay. Then headed over to the cafe to caffeinate. They continue to feature Starbucks coffee. I ordered a Venti cold brew with Half n' Half - and a blueberry scone heated up - to enjoy in the Cafe. Also paid with Apple Pay. The store has free WiFi available.
