Reasonable price, great owner, and nice location…read more Came in for an oil change and to track down the cause of a recurring stall issue with my Volkswagen Tiguan. The mechanic listened, asked good follow-up questions, made sure he understood the problem before drawing any conclusions, and then diagnosed it cleanly. The part arrived within the window he quoted (2-3 hours), was installed without fuss, and the final bill was reasonable. What stood out as much as the technical work: he flagged a slow coolant leak and a minor oil leak -- this is an older car, so neither was a shock -- but there was no pressure to pile on services. He showed me rough estimates so I'd have them when I'm ready and left the decisions to me. That kind of straightforward, no-upsell approach is rarer than it should be. The waiting area is a genuine plus: free wifi, a table big enough to work at, and a small fridge with complimentary drinks, large TV. My one suggestion would be to add a coffee in the AM. Also, the door to the reception currently reads "B". Might want to avoid any confusion with better signage. That said, I am a big fan of this establishment and will be using them for repairs in the future (apparently sooner than I want :) Bonus: he pointed me to a wonderful Indian place across the street, Biryani, which I'd highly recommend if you have time to kill while your car is being worked on.

I ended up needing more work done and while it was expensive as cars are it didn't cost an arm and a leg. Gia the manager was also just pleasant to talk to and very communicative overall. She even offered to let me come around the desk to type in my credit card number for privacy which I felt was a thoughtful gesture. Overall my experience was great and my car feels better! Thanks honest automotive!

As a woman, I can tell you there's no shortage of mechanics out there who will look at your car and…read morediagnose you with stuff you don't need just to charge you more. Clyde at Pass The Wrench doesn't do that. He's a fine young man who provides quality, affordable service. If the job isn't done that day, you pay him when it is. I seriously lucked out by asking on Reddit if anyone knew of a mobile mechanic that could come to our house and fix out Infiniti, someone recommended him. He answered his phone right away, listened to the issue, and came plenty prepared. Not only was he fantastic with the service he provided, he was able to get us discounts on the parts we needed, willing to work around us very close to Christmas (even offering to work ON Christmas), and it turns out he can do more than just cars. Since moving to NC, all we ever hear about is how everyone in this state has "A Guy" they know that can do fix-it/handy projects around the house. Clyde at Pass The Wrench happens to be That Guy for us now. It's rare you find someone that loves what they do and is willing to do good work at a good price without trying to swindle their customers for a quick buck. When it comes to local businesses, Pass the Wrench is exactly the sort of place I want my money going because the person running it happens to be just an all around good human. He might be based out of Raleigh, but he services all over and will come to you to fix your car. We're out in Clayton, and he came to us without issue. I will personally be recommending him to everyone I know.

Unfortunately I usually cannot find any paint matches. Service is pretty straight forward - enter, find parts or assistance, pay and go about one's business. Seems like every time I've been here the place has been swamped and they've been short staffed. I don't mind the wait because I generally don't come here when I have some place to be right away. The store is clean and the staff is very willing to help out if they can.

When I got home and my mechanic began to replace them, he discovered the box that was suppose to contain the back brake pads, had two new pads and two old, rusty pads and was missing all the shims. The website shows every single set of back brakes contained shims. I called the store right away and asked for the manager who mumbled his name when I asked for it. He said there was nothing he could do unless I drove back to the store. So, we made the half hour drive to get the entire back set of brakes, replaced. When I got there, the first thing the manager did was try to sell me another set! I quickly informed him I wasn't paying for anything else and that I only wanted a new box with four new brake pads. Still, he tried to pressure me into getting a box with shims and said he would give me a 10% discount. Honestly, he was only trying to bait and switch to throw me off as he could see I was quite angry about the whole ordeal. He went to grab a new set and I told him the entire box needed to be checked. He threw the box on the counter and flipped open to box and I, the customer had to open each pad individually. The pads were fine but this box was missing shims! So now, two boxes are missing parts. The manager and I had an exchange and all he could say was that it wasn't his fault and there was nothing he could do. He told me he could order a new box and it would be here on one week. He had no people skills, never apologized, never offered a solution. He did repeat that " this happens all the time!" The manager then tried to make me feel sorry for him citing he only made 9.00 and hour, like that had anything to do with anything. He stated he didn't know the person who I origally sold me the pads a few hours earlier. He said we could call the store manager. I later called that number and it goes back to the store! District manager number was inoperable and district number worked so I left a message. Never again will I buy anything from Auto Zone. Two packages both missing parts. People in management not taking responsibility and not offering any resolution. They also acted like they could care less that my car was taken apart and only had half a brake job! I got my money back for half of my purchase. I went next door and got the correct set with all the parts! Rude staff, inside theft of parts, horrible customer service and they don't care they have inconvenienced you! Stay far, far away from this store!

He charges $100 just for a diagnostic on your vehicle and once he gets your vehicle he gives an improper diagnostic. I have a Chrysler 300 that was not starting. He had my car for a month and never once lifted the car to do a full diagnostic on the car all he did was put a battery in it, completely ignoring all the other internal issues that were wrong with the car. he began to list a bunch of things that were not wrong with the car because he in fact did not know what was wrong with the car, with the attempt to get more money for doing absolutely nothing . I have children and Vinny gave the OK to drive my car to Texas and back with my two year-old and unborn child in the car knowing that all he had done was replaced the battery leaving the car to suffer from further damage .He is literally a con man that will tell you anything just to be able to drive around in your car for a month or longer while procrastinating and acting like he knows what to do to fix your car. He is not licensed as he is unable to finish the proper testing in order to get licensing to be listed as a registered mechanic. He will destroy your vehicle and leave you to have to pay more money,out-of-pocket to have a different diagnostic done by a different mechanic as well as labor, andparts. I highly recommend that you do not take your vehicle to this con artist and save yourself the time and money and stress and get it taken to a real mechanic that will work in a timely fashion and actually fix your vehicle. Best of luck to all people who go through this evil man.

These guys serviced my diesel truck and lexus exactly as they said they would on several occasions. They were upfront on estimates, and have not had any rework to deal with. Pricing on tires is solid. Work done has been both minor and major, and all done correctly. Timing belt, major top end diesel work, and small stuff like tires were all completed correctly. In the past I have done complete rebuilds on diesel and gas engines of various makes and no longer have the time to do it myself. Review #500 takes me to Downtown Creedmoor for a new local business. I brought my little yellow…read morecar here for some brake work and wiring issues. Jeff seemed to know his way around my old C3. There were still more wiring and brake issues to be resolved, but I decided I needed to be able to eat before I dumped a ton more cash into this car. I just wanted it to be drivable without worrying about whether or not the 3500lbs of steel, leather, plastic and fiberglass would stop and whether or not I'd get rear ended if I could stop. It took about 50 miles for the new brakes/rotor to finally break in - unfortunately, the car still won't stop on a dime if I need it to. Not sure how to resolve that - maybe it's as simple as bleeding the brakes again (a two person job - something my daddy taught me how to do when I was 10 years old), or maybe it's an indication of needing a new master cylinder - something I would have no business messing with. While the jury is still out on this shop, Jeff did indeed tighten up some of the seals that appeared to be leaking. Kudos and credit for no more spots in my driveway. Pricing/Hours scared me for the brake work and about what I expected for the wiring issues. Time will tell when I bring it back for the balance of the brake work we discussed and for other work that needs to be done to make this car "safer" to drive. I just want to have a place to take this car where I can trust the people working on it for their expertise and their integrity. This may or may not be that place. Quick update - took the little yellow car back for round two because the dash light for the brakes came on... seems I still have a leaky caliper. Jeff got the system up and working again, no charge this time, but two weeks later, running into the same problem again. Not sure what the issue is - burned right through another set of new pads on that wheel. Last Update: After taking my C3 to another shop, and to a mechanic who specializes in Corvettes, I'm being told the rotors and calipers are all still original and none were ever replaced. I will not be back to Main Street Automotive for anything.
