I wouldn't trust Dr. Brittany Calderon at Smile Dentistry with my worst enemy's teeth. My…read moreexperience with her has been nothing short of a nightmare--one that has left me in excruciating pain, out of pocket for an emergency root canal, and questioning how someone so incompetent was ever allowed to practice dentistry. I originally went in for a routine cleaning. X-rays were taken, and I was told everything looked fine, except that I supposedly needed two crowns. Trusting the so-called expertise of Dr. Calderon, I agreed to the procedure--one crown at a time. That was the worst decision I could have made. During the crown procedure, she removed far more of my tooth than she "anticipated"--something I wasn't informed of until after the damage was already done. I was in pain, but I expected some discomfort. What I didn't expect was for the pain to intensify so badly over the weekend that by Monday, I could barely function. The pain spread to my ear, I had splitting headaches, and I couldn't even chew. When I went back in, Dr. Calderon barely examined me before immediately claiming that my X-rays showed no issues with the crown or placement. Instead, she suggested that I either had an infection or--conveniently--now needed a root canal. Funny, because at no point before the crown was I ever told I had any issue requiring a root canal. And when I told her I wasn't in pain before the crown, she had the audacity to claim that I would have been eventually. I didn't realize she had a crystal ball that could predict my future pain. Something didn't sit right with me, so I sought a second opinion. And that's when I found out the horrifying truth: I NEVER EVEN NEEDED THE CROWN IN THE FIRST PLACE. The new dentist reviewed my X-rays, took their own, and confirmed that the procedure was unnecessary. They also warned me not to proceed with the second crown Dr. Calderon claimed I needed. But it gets worse--the crown she placed was so poorly done that it directly caused my need for a root canal. Even the assistant at the new office made a comment about the low quality of her work before the doctor even looked at it. So now, thanks to Dr. Calderon's complete lack of skill, I am paying out of pocket to fix a problem she created, suffering through extreme pain, and having to get an emergency root canal--all because she didn't know what she was doing. And instead of admitting her mistake, she tried to cover it up. Dr. Calderon, if you ever see this, I hope you think about the pain and suffering you've caused me every single day. Had you just taken accountability and apologized, I might have been willing to work with you. But instead, you chose to gaslight me into believing this was somehow inevitable. It wasn't. You caused this. And now, I will make it my mission to report you to the California Dental Association, every organization you're affiliated with, and even your alma mater, Loma Linda University. The fact that someone like you was allowed to graduate and practice dentistry is terrifying. To anyone reading this: Stay far, far away from Dr. Calderon and Smile Dentistry. Trusting her was the worst mistake I've ever made, and I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.

They lost the molds for said implants twice, only ended up doing part of the work. Got fed up with "oh you'll have to come back for that" being said to me at every booked appointment (so they could milk my insurance) so I told them I wasn't going to pay for work not rendered. Fast forward to early 2025, try to give them the chance to correct the root canal that is now failing. Booked the appointment, got insurance squared away, had to wait until end of the day to see them to get told "oh you still owe us money, we can't see you." Mind you, I have 3 separate dental plans. No offer to fix their mistake. Wasted my time. Cherry on top? They were telling people in the lobby and the wait line at the end of the day they would have to reschedule appointments because they "were short-staffed." One gentleman in the front row had already been there for FOUR HOURS WAITING. So even if they weren't squeezing me for money, they would've reschedule anyways. Why accept appointments when you know you can't fulfill patient needs? Why not call people to warn them not to come in versus wasting their time? Place is an assembly line to "get 'em in, get 'em out" for quick money making. Was warned this place was a scam. Now I see why. Sharing this on all review platforms.

They took real good care of my teeth, walked me through my treatment and was always there to guide me through any issues along the way. His staff are professional and educated with all services they provide. This is the kind of staff you want care from for yourself and your family. Well recently I have had issues with my teeth, saw Dr. J about a month ago and he is once again going to be caring for my treatment ... I love and are comfortable with Dr. J and his staff. To give a better rating for this business, I will start with the Hemet office. Hemet office: is clean, presentable and still the same outlook I remember from about 8-9 years ago. I do know that it's under slight construction but I also do know that it will turn out even better then before. The kids corner looked the same, but I'm sure they have upcoming plans for that area as well. Some of the staff that I remember my first time around are still there and have great memory, when I had showed up again after all these years - that same staff had greeted me with happiness and provided professionalism all over again. These guys are awesome!! Temecula office: I saw more of the old staff and they are still awesome as well, always a good feeling to know that you are recognized as their patient - even after not showing up for a very long time. The office looked very nice, comfortable, clean and presentable. This office has a little kids section as well but also a little hydration corner for patients. I know from the last time I had visited the Temecula office, it was under construction in the back office, which I know it will turn out as great as before. But no matter what, they still conducted business as usual and kept a clean and professional act and environment.. I want to give a huge thank you to all the staff that I have came in contact with and appreciate your excellent professionalism and care.. I also want to Thank Dr. J's new partner Dr. Waddoups, I had seen him for the 1st time just recently and he has the utmost respect and caring heart for his patients as well. I will continue my treatment with this business, not only for their care but because they are always willing to do what needs to be done for their patients..
