This year, I was thrilled to see it was back and happily made the drive on a Wednesday night, a week before Christmas. The computerized "dancing" light show in Harrisburg, PA features over 50,000 lights synchronized to 13 holiday tunes--and it's absolutely magical. When I arrived, there were only three other cars in the cul-de-sac, so there was plenty of space to enjoy the show at my own pace. A pro tip: make some hot chocolate and maybe even pack cookies! It's the perfect cozy way to experience the lights without spending a dime. Another important tip: do not block driveways while waiting, and do not park facing the house (that's against township code). Instead, hug the curb with your car for a smooth, safe viewing experience. I love that the display is synced with an FM radio station, so you can keep your windows closed and stay warm while watching the lights dance along to classic Christmas songs. The timing, music, and choreography make it feel truly magical. The Linglestown Lights is also proud to support Family Promise of Harrisburg Capital Region. They do amazing work helping families in need, and I highly recommend learning more about them and considering a donation either in person or through their website. The light show runs every day from 5pm to 10pm, and it's a perfect, free, and warm way to spend an evening fully immersed in the holiday season. The Hurricane Chamber that blasted winds up to 91mph. Cool? More like cold. I almost lost my contact lenses. Totally worth it. Even though the exhibits are geared toward kids, there's something magical about rediscovering them as an adult. Nostalgia hits, curiosity kicks in, and the 21+ crowd makes the vibe peaceful, playful, and fun. Between touching a tornado, watching turtles migrate across Earth, and laughing at ourselves while sipping drinks, it was an inexpensive, unique date night during 3rd in the Burg. This was our first show at the Hershey Area Playhouse (Legally Blonde) and we were very impressed!…read moreUpon arrival we were warmly welcomed and given an overview of the layout of the theatre.  The ground floor has the concessions, ticketbooth and restrooms. The second floor has the theatre area. The theatre is very clean and modern.  The theatre is nicely laid out with seats on 3 sides of the "stage" area, which enables the performers to utilize the whole floor area to the seats. The seating space is great! Spacious, with nice leg room and staggered with the seat in front of you, which is very nice and provides an unblocked view.  The performers did a great job and provided the audience with a fun, energetic atmosphere, which even surpassed shows we've seen at the Hershey Theatre.  The sound, pit band and lighting were spot on for the show.  We will definitely be returning for additional shows in the future!

Well, that's what I did. I went to Midtown cinema to see Sinners. It was a rainy, gloomy day, so it was perfect to go to the movie theater. I worked for myself, so I was able to go to a matinee at roughly about 1 PM. It was a very nice experience. Since I since I had the theater to my entire self I purchased a popcorn and a soda and of course the movie ticket! Well I was surprised to only find out that my bill came out to be $32 for a movie midday however I continued to watch the movie and this movie was okay! But that part that threw me off were the vampires. I definitely wasn't expecting that, but that was a great little pot plot twist at the end. I was not too fond of it, but the cinema was very nice. The bathrooms were very clean and the staff made up for it. I actually got a chance to talk to one of the staff members and we talked about movies and I told them how I didn't understand why it was vampires and then also Hoodoo which I came to find out. Is a different type of magic than Voodoo. I love that the film was fictional and based on a folklore, talking to someone at the movie theater, who actually studied film themselves was an amazing experience. I enjoy the conversation with the staff more than the movie.

The roots of the museum go all the way back to 1933. At that time, Hershey founder Milton S. Hershey founded the Hershey American Indian Museum. The museum originally consisted of Native American items, but Hershey began to add artifacts from Pennsylvania German culture to the collection beginning in 1935. In 2009, the M.S. Hershey Foundation moved the collection to its current location on Chocolate Avenue. The theme of the museum was changed to focus on the life, career, and philanthropic legacy of chocolate pioneer Milton S. Hershey. The collection explores his early business failures, the creation of the town, and his mass production of milk chocolate. The museum still retains its Native American and Pennsylvania German collections, but they are no longer on view to the public. My family and I recently visited Hershey while we were visiting our cousins in Pennsylvania. My wife and I had both separately visited Hershey when we were children, but this was the first visit for our own children. Our visit to the museum was a first for all of us. We all enjoyed seeing the various artifacts connected to the life of Milton S. Hershey. Our sons especially liked the various interactive elements, which included touchscreens, animated stories, old commercials to vote on, and custom candy wrapper design stations. The museum also features a Chocolate Lab where participants learn about cocoa harvesting and mold their own take-home chocolate bar. It was really nice to learn that Milton S. Hershey wanted to be remembered most for his philanthropy and helping children in need, rather than his immense wealth or his chocolate empire. For any families looking to visit Hershey and learn its history, we recommend making a stop at the Hershey Story Museum!
