If you live in the inner west of Brisbane, at Indooroopilly, oh how we envy you. You are now proud…read morecustodians of Qld & Brisbane's first Koko Black salon, at Indooroopilly Shopping centre. Koko Black is all about indulgent quality chocolate & more. Not only can you buy an assortment of all things chocolate, as gifts or for your own treat (as you would with any boutique chocolatier shop), you can also come in here to sit down to experience full table service and order from their salon menu. There's appetisers, ice cream, savoury, desserts, warm brews & sweet things "for the young at heart". We liked that their menu caters for those with allergies & intolerances as well. Starting off with some hot chocolate, how could we possibly decide which item to order when they all sound so amazing? Easy. Go for the dessert degustation, which for two people at $26, is a great way to taste most of the dessert items. The dessert degustation is a plate of: (1) Chocolate alchemy cake, (2) Raspberry Mousse, (3) Chocolate hazelnut cluster, (4) Belgian mousse, & (5) Chocolate ice cream. What an absolutely devine experience! Not only is the service great, but you Lose yourself in bite after bite, igniting the senses & arousing moments of joy. Amazing! No, our mouths did not have a party where everyone was invited. Our mouths had a freakin 4 day festival where everyone danced non-stop, until the speakers blew up. So damn good. We may not live on this side of town, but we just became kokoholics. Do yourselves a favour & get addicted; check out Koko Black at Indooroopilly shopping centre.

I got the Belgian hot choccy and mousse tart. Both were way too rich and the hot choccy tasted awful... I felt so sick and vomited when I got home. Unhappy times :(

So I was out for dinner at Market Square and, as you do, had probably eaten way too much. No room…read morefor dessert, I thought. But nope! - along came a girl with free samples of froyo - and they weren't bad so off to this new shop it was. I had no idea where "oops!" actually was, but never fear, it wasn't hard to spot: just follow the blaring K-pop. Sadly my appalling karaoke effort wasn't successful in scoring any free toppings, but more on that later. First things first, because I know you're all dying to know: yes, they make the froyo for you. No self serve here, but the variety is everything you'd expect: I think about 8 flavours of frozen yoghurt, the original and fruity flavours and then green tea. There's plenty of toppings too. Naturally, I opted for the mango pearls (popping boba) because that's how I roll. But at a quick glance it looked like they had all the usual suspects. The froyo itself was pretty good, and nothing unusual to report. Maybe I'm not enough of a conoisseur to write an essay about the quality of frozen yoghurt, but no complaints - it was up to the standard of any of the big chains if not a little better! The emphasis at Oops is definitely on the yoghurt itself - I got a LOT for the size of my cup! The flip side of that, though, is that toppings aren't included (that's right, aren't included) and cost extra, unless you join in their little marketing ploy by liking the Facebook page prior to purchase ;) I've never seen the no-toppings approach before, and with a normal mix of stuff like you might get at Berryme or Noggi, this would work out to be really expensive REALLY fast. If you love your froyo pure and unadulterated, though, it's great. Early days, but the staff were also cool and friendly and the atmosphere was good. So check it out.
