I was driving through Gardnerville and found this quaint Chocolate Shop. The store was clean and inviting. Harvey and Lynn, the owners, were friendly and helpful. They offered samples. There was a vast variety of decadent candies and cookies. They also had a large variety of sugar-free Chocolates. They had cookies for the Presidential Inauguration, with pictures of President Trump and Vice President Vance. They were so cool. I highly recommend this candy shop.

100% recommended this business. All staff is friendly and they offer samples to try while you are shopping. They have a great assortment and offer keto, vegan and sugar free options. I will definitely stop by every time I'm in town.

Update review: I will always support a local business whenever I can. One of the reasons I support local is those business owners care about their customers. I had a mishap on my last visit and was over charged. Lynn the store owner reached out to me make it right. She offered me a check for the difference or items from her store worth the value and she would ship it to me. This shop is a chocolate wonderland, so I chose my favorite chocolate items and came home to my perfectly packaged items sitting next to my door. Their smores cup is the best thing I've ate in a long time! Thank you Lynn! I'll see you in-store on my trip through Gardnerville. If you are passing by and a chocolate fan like me, stop in. I promise you'll thank me later.

Lynn and her team are amazing! I was looking for Tahoe-shaped cookies for favors for my wedding, and I was so excited when I came across the Chocolate Shoppe online. Lynn was able to personalize the label with our wedding info and used purple ribbon to match our wedding colors. The cookies were huge! I think they were about 5 inches tall and almost 3 inches wide. The sugar cookie is coated in chocolate. In my opinion, the cookie is not too sweet for a sugar cookie. It is so big that it took me at least 2 or 3 days to finish 1 cookie. They were the perfect favor for my wedding! I highly recommend the Chocolate Shoppe to everyone!

4/8/2023 If I was offered vanilla or chocolate.. I'd definitely pick chocolate.. Conveniently located and right next to a pet store.. We've always been given treats from the Chocolate Shoppe.. Package is always nice wrapped and listed ingredients to see.. Glad to have stopped in.

Happiness is a box of chocolates and a good book...this definitely fits my hubby and he is quickly converting our lil granddaughter to his wily ways with their search for decadent chocolates to nibble on and enjoy. Low and behold we stumbled upon the Chocolate Shoppe during a wonderful holiday event learning all about the local shop in Gardnerville & the fabulous owner Lynn. She shared about how long they had been in business, about how they have these AMAZING chocolates that are premium quality to include sugar free andd have photo cookies along with other personalized items plus Nevada chocolates! WE were IN!! Headed down to Gardnerville in the Raley's shopping center during the Christmas holiday, the staff was beyond helpful plus offered manyyy FREE samples ~OMChocolately deliciousness!! We grabbed a hand-held shopping basket, filling it to the rim with truffles, turtles, caramels, chocolate covered marshmallows, bordeoux and a Christmas gift basket that was full of a little bit of everything. We even signed up for emails and rewards for our next visits. Thank you Lynn, Chocolate Shoppe and staff, we WILL be back again and again to fill manyyy baskets and I have a feeling that hubby & granddaughter will be coming for special visits too.

Wow this place is awesome!!! Best chocolate shop in the area for sure. Super friendly and helpful staff. They have everything you can think of and was super surprised to find a large selection of sugar free chocolate options as well! We ended up buying a whole bag of stuff and they do custom orders and have awesome molds to make chocolate cowboy boots etc! They ship too so if you fall in love with their KitKats, snickers or nut brittles you can order and have shipped to you. The best thing about the is place was the staff and their selection of items. We will be regulars now that we know they are right here in town!

There's no doubt that Lynn & and her wonderful team at The Chocolate Shoppe are the happiest of chocolatiers around and they're spreading their joy and passion through smiles, and of course, delicious and beautiful confections. What started as a wholesale business dating to 1994 turned into a retail shop in Gardnerville that would shortly turn into a pillar of the community that locals could depend on for phenomenal service and delicious treats. Whether a regular or a new customer, The Chocolate Shoppe will treat you the same, eager to serve you with smiles and assistance in helping you find the perfect treat to brighten up your day. The Chocolate Shoppe caters to every occasion, working with their customers to customize the perfect gifts, be it special photos printed on yummy cookies or themed and well-thought out selections made into beautiful baskets. Whatever idea you have, they will try their best to make it come to life since they make everything in house and have that flexibility. The grounds of the shop go into full swing when the holidays arrive throughout the year, with holiday-themed treats out the door.  Whatever the holiday, The Chocolate Shoppe works throughout the year in customizing treats, making them fun and festive for all to enjoy. If awards were being given out for the most outgoing, most festive, most passionate, top tastiest, and best all-around chocolate shop, I would give all of them to The Chocolate Shoppe, located in Gardnerville, NV. I am truly honored to have met such passionate owners and workers that run the Choclate Shoppe. Reasons Why I Love the Chocolate Shoppe -Passionate owners and workers make the best chocolates -No one does holidays treats like them -They have free samples -They have a motto that everything has to taste as good as it looks (they hit the nail on the head with this motto) -Ashley's Bordeoux is enough reason to order online or visit their shop -They welcome and are happy to do custom orders -Their staff sings while they work -No refined sugars and artificial ingredients -They do custom baskets for every occasion -They print images on cookies and other treats like rice krispies -They ship chocolates in USA and Canada for convenience -They're on route to California on the 395 (you pass Gardenville from Reno when traveling to San Deigo and the like) -It smells divine inside -Their Roka will put the pink container Almond Roca from childhood to shame -The drive to Gardnerville is beautiful -Anything from their shop makes for a perfect gift -Confections made in small batches, homemade, individually wrapped Notes: -They're found right next door to Raley's. -There's a cute town only 15 minutes away, Genoa, that arguably has the oldest bar in Nevada.  The city is super charming and holds a popular annual event called the Candy Dance Festival, which I will add to my blog in the future. -Lake Tahoe is so close. -Follow them on Facebook for the latest updates.

The second time for a Carmel Apple with nuts. It was ok. Yesterday we stopped in for chocolates. The first time we went in it was too busy to look around. We came back after the show and picked up 4. 2 delicious mint, a salted Carmel, and marshmallow. They are priced by piece not weight, like sees does. The total came to $7. He loved his mint ones and ate both for dessert after our steak dinner. I had the salted caramel one and it was Devine, so Carmel-y and it stuck to my teeth. I'm saving up the marshmallow one. This is a great dessert shop. They also sell all types of Carmel apples. I'd go with the plain Carmel one next time, the nuts took away from the Carmel. They have at least a half dozen of flavors, they sell candy, peanut brittle, chocolate dipped champagne glasses, cheesecake, ect. They even have a tiny seating area outside. This is a fun tasty place.

It was rainy, and so everybody was indoors, and it was kind of crowded, but that's a testament to the quality of the food. Our bartender, Maddy, was energetic and friendly, and it didn't hurt that she grew up six doors down on our street. My wife, ever the hugger, was thrilled to see her, and you could tell they had a mutual fondness for each other. So if you're into day drinking, and it's a Sunday, this is a great stop. Quality, alcohol, friendly faces, what look like good food, and a clean and pleasant environment made this the place to stop. Rest assured, we will be back

We had a confirmed reservation for eight at 1:00 pm on a Friday following a wedding ceremony. What should have been a joyful post-wedding lunch became frustrating due to the general manager's attitude. Although the reservation was made, we were told they could not ensure the table that would comfortably fit eight adults -- several over 6 feet tall. We were also informed they would not guarantee any table even a few minutes early so we could place simple floral arrangement on it before bride arrived. Our party was fully prepared to order off the regular menu and pay whatever it took for what would likely have been a one-hour lunch. During the conversation, the manager repeatedly emphasized that they are "always busy," which felt dismissive rather than helpful. The overall tone came across as VERY condescending, especially given the occasion. For a restaurant known for hospitality, this was disappointing. The lunch was booked at another restaurant. Sadly, none of us will be back to The Pink House while the current manager is employed there.

We got a chocolate croissant (only decent thing I got, but don't compare it to an artisanal made croissant where it's a dark golden brown with flaky crispy buttery layers). Their "croissants" are more like anemic, soft, moist bread. Also, got a cheese Danish. Starbucks sells a better cheese Danish than this place. The Danish was dry and hard and the center filling looked like it was pre-made frozen and just placed on top of the Danish. Finally, the worst of the worst, I got a personal size dutch apple crumble pie. Now THIS looked like it was made from scratch and I had hopes for this one. However, I took a piece of the crumble topping and ate it. It had an unusual funny taste. Almost like it was made with lavender. Didn't taste quite right. Then, when I got back to my hotel, I really dug into it. It wasn't just the crumble that was off, but the entire pie tasted of rancid spoiled butter. I had to spit it out, it was horrible. I can't believe they would serve that. I don't know how old that thing was, but they need better quality control. The only people I could see giving this place 5 stars on the food, are locals. Tahoe is behind when it comes to quality high end artisanal pastries. I have yet to find a decent coffee shop. Their sign boasts "Voted Best in Tahoe", but you'll see that almost every spot here has the same sign, from ice cream shops to bakeries to whatever else because there's literally nothing here. If you're from a big city, don't come here. Service was pleasant. No complaints.
