The filling tasted fresh although I wished they added some mango chunks and didn't use that much thickener so the mango filling has a more natural flow and texture. 4/5 The green coconut was 2nd. It's pandan flavor and I always appreciate the more natural green color. Its not too sweet and appeals perfectly to an Asian parent like mine 2.5/5 Coffee caramel was our least favorite. It was too sweet and lacked the depth and caramelized sugar taste. I tasted mostly coffee and there was no texture to prevent it from being so one note aside from the chocolate shell. Personally think this one needs more R&D. I should've tried the other coffee ones. Was expecting a gooey caramel filling and a richer, darker coffee :( I love these kinds of desserts and am very picky but I will be back to try more! They change their offerings seasonally so I can't wait.

A Sweet Way to Top Off a Birthday Celebration!…read more Well, since it was my daughter's birthday, it was only fitting that we top off the day with coffee and something sweet! So, off we went to D'Caramel Patisserie, a cute little place that was cozy, clean, and inviting. When we walked in, there were already a few customers enjoying their treats. The place was very clean, well-maintained, and nicely organized. We were greeted by two of the sweetest young ladies, no pun intended! working behind the counter. Ms. Ari and Ms. Paige both had gorgeous smiles and were incredibly polite, friendly, and welcoming. Since we were still pretty full from lunch, we didn't want to overindulge... although being surrounded by all those goodies certainly made that decision a little harder! We settled on a Black Forest NY Roll for $7.95 and an Acorn for $11.75. The Black Forest NY Roll was flaky, filled with pumpkin cream, and very tasty. The Acorn was also delicious. The cream wasn't heavy or overly sweet, it was just right-down tasty! And of course, if you're fixin' to have sweets, coffee is a must! My daughter ordered a 12 oz. hot Latte for $5.45. My wife got a 16 oz. iced Americano with half-and-half for $4.25, and I went with a 12 oz. Cappuccino with caramel for $7.45. We all enjoyed our selected beverages, and they were a perfect way to finish our birthday outing. From what we were told, D'Caramel Patisserie has been open for approximately three years, and it's definitely a cute little place worth checking out. So, if you're in the area and have a hankering for something sweet, come support this local little gem! Stop in, grab yourself a pastry and coffee, and be sure to say hello to the two lovely ladies, Ms. Ari and Ms. Paige. Sometimes, a birthday celebration doesn't need anything fancy--just family, good coffee, something sweet, and a couple of friendly smiles. And that's exactly what we found here!

Each fruit pastry has a beautiful chocolate shell. You crack that open and there is a light and sweet mousse/whipped filling around a breaded and/or layered sweet jelly center. It is so dang good! You must experience it! The service is SUPER friendly. Primarily female workers and I think it's a female owned business? You can tell because the attention to detail is superb. Ambiance is super light filled and good vibes! Clean, cute, and modern. I have been twice and can't wait to go back.

They're also wonderful about accommodating dietary restrictions, which I really appreciated. The food was lovely, and each tea pairing complemented it perfectly. The service was thoughtful too. They checked in at just the right moments without ever feeling intrusive. Such a fun and special experience! I loved it so much that I bought their pink rose tea to take home, and my friend even grabbed one of their tea diffusers.

I had such high expectations for afternoon tea at Potpourri of Silk, and I left very disappointed…read more If you enjoy a traditional afternoon tea that includes finger sandwiches, scones with cream and jam, and delicate sweets with pots of well brewed tea, you may want to skip this place. During our reservation we were the only table for tea. The staff were preparing for a private event later in the day. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Everyone we talked to was absolutely lovely. The restaurant itself was very cute and elegantly decorated. I have zero complaints about either of those things. The service and atmosphere were top notch. The problem was the food and the tea. For the tea, the loose tea was steeped in the tea strainers set over the cups and did not arrive brewed in the pot. Our server poured hot water over the tea at the table and set a timer, then when time was up we lifted the steeped tea leaves ourselves. I do not prefer this method of making tea, it means each cup needs to be individually steeped which is annoying and time consuming, and each cup is weaker than the one before it. You also do not get to select your tea - they offer two teas - one for each part of the experience and each had sweet fruity element that might not be to everyone's taste. As for the food, I was excited to try the chef driven offerings, but I was left very disappointed. To start we got a cup of autumn broth and what they called a scone. It was two very thin layers of somewhat biscuit like bread filled with apple butter and apple slices and was topped with torched cheddar. This was OK, but not what I would consider as a scone course, and it arrived first, not after the savory course. Next, we were served a kale and pumpkin puree salad with quinoa and feta with a granola on top. This was tasty, but an odd paring with the sweeter flavors of the tea they paired with it. From here, things took a left turn. I can't be sure, but many of the items we were served felt a bit stale or dry as if they were prepared the day before. One item - a foccacia with pumpkin hummus - was so dry I couldn't finish it. Other items - the pear and gruyere tart and a small pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting - were very tough and unpleasant to eat. There was no actual sandwiches, just the foccacia with hummus, a dry cornbread wedge with butter, and the pear and cheese tart on the tea stand. To finish, we were served a creme brulee that was overcooked and grainy. The flavor was delicious, but the split texture of the custard made it unpleasant to eat. Overall, I saw the chefs vision for the fall themed tea, but the execution was poorly done. Perhaps it was a bad day, considering they were preparing for the private event, but for the price paid I won't return.
