I absolutely LOVE San Martin and I honestly do not know why I have yet to come back sooner!…read more I recently popped back into San martin after not being there for a while, and OMG! I was instantly reminded why it is such a Dallas GEM! I did not pop in to eat this time, but to find a nice spot to work with a friend on our laptops and yap over a coffee! And while we weren't planning to do much, the experience was still a 10/10! I ended up ordering a White Chocolate latte and it was AMAZING! You can tell they actually put time and effort into their coffee and lattes! Everything is also brewed fresh! Which I love! My friend ordered a artesian hot chocolate and wow! It was probably some of the best hot chocolate I have ever had! It was def made with real cocoa! We did end up splurging on some pastries, because DUH! It's it so hard to ignore the bakery section when it is so stunning and filled with beautiful baked goods! I got a oreo croissant and tortuga concha! I did not eat them (My bf did) but they looked so great! I did try my friends banana custard filled bread and that was great! I would go back for it! Overall, we ended up sitting inside of their beautiful space for hours, just talking and catching up! It was amazing and comfy! We def want to return for some of their dinner and drink specials too! Highly recommend!

We came out for their opening and unfortunately had a pretty disappointing experience…read more We arrived at 4:30 AM and got in line. Based on our count, we were around #40, #41, and #42, so we should have been within the first 50 people to receive the free bag. However, by the time we made it inside, they had already run out. The biggest issue was the lack of organization. There was no ticketing or clear system to keep track of who was actually in line. We also noticed people arriving later and joining friends and family who were already in line, which made the whole process feel unfair. I understand openings can be hectic, but when you're advertising something for the first 50 customers, there should be a system in place to make sure those who actually waited in line are counted. We got there extremely early for a reason, so it was definitely disappointing to miss out because of poor crowd control.

Poor Customer Service…read more I had a disappointing experience at Village Baking Company in Oak Lawn with an employee named Savannah. I paid for a 16-ounce tea but was initially given a 12-ounce. When I asked her to correct it, she simply poured the 12-ounce drink into a 16-ounce cup, leaving me with the same amount of tea despite paying the difference for the larger size. When I politely asked her to remove some ice and add more tea, she was dismissive and told me that if I didn't like it, I could go to another location. Her response was rude and unprofessional. I was simply asking for what I paid for. Savannah could benefit from additional customer service training. I've always had pleasant experiences at other locations, but this encounter left a very negative impression.

My review is for the pastries at the Mockingbird location…read moreBought 3 of their handmade pastries, averaging about $8-10 per pastry, we tried the mango, the coffee caramel, and the green coconut. 4.5/5 Mango was my favorite! The filling tasted fresh although I wished they added some mango chunks and didn't use that much thickener so the mango filling has a more natural flow and texture. 4/5 The green coconut was 2nd. It's pandan flavor and I always appreciate the more natural green color. Its not too sweet and appeals perfectly to an Asian parent like mine 2.5/5 Coffee caramel was our least favorite. It was too sweet and lacked the depth and caramelized sugar taste. I tasted mostly coffee and there was no texture to prevent it from being so one note aside from the chocolate shell. Personally think this one needs more R&D. I should've tried the other coffee ones. Was expecting a gooey caramel filling and a richer, darker coffee :( I love these kinds of desserts and am very picky but I will be back to try more! They change their offerings seasonally so I can't wait.

Everything felt casual and welcoming, with an old-fashioned charm that made the space feel really special. The staff were super nice too and gave us really good recommendations. We ordered the Bonnie and Pie'd. It's a coffee, toffee, and chocolate pie. The chocolate gave it that rich, deep sweetness, while the coffee brought in a little bitterness that kept everything from becoming too sweet. Then those little hits of toffee, adding a buttery, caramel-like flavor and a bit of chewiness. The graham cracker crust was probably my favorite part of the texture. It had that toasted, slightly salty crunch that worked really well with the soft filling. It was rich without being overwhelming, and every bite had something different going on. Sweet, chocolatey, buttery, a little bitter from the coffee, and that crunchy graham cracker underneath. The coffee on the side was definitely the right call.

Friendly service by the Buzz and Bustle staff who patiently explained each pastry flavor, and I conveniently tried their cappuccino, which tasted great. Plenty of cafe seating inside and outside. The parking garage elevator/stairs is close to the shop, so getting in and out once you know the layout is not bad. The chai was watery, and the matcha tasted mostly like milk with a hint of green coloring. Honestly, the mint-green color told me everything before I even took a sip.
