When visiting Eagle Pass, Choche's BBQ has to be a stop you make. I recently celebrated my birthday at Choche's and everything was perfect! We started off with the Brisket Nachos which included chips from a local tortilla factory, queso blanco, brisket, and pico de gallo (you can also ask for pico de gallo on side). The chips had the right amount of saltiness and paired with the queso and brisket - it was the perfect appetizer to open the lunch with. For our group, we did get two (2) large nachos but asked to split it into 4 plates (to feed 15). It was more than enough!!! For our main meal, we went with the "El Comp" package which included enough food to feed 8-12 (we were a party of 15). The meal package included: a whole Brisket, a rack of Pork ribs, 4 Chicken leg quarters (which I asked to split to make 8 pieces), 3, 32oz sides (we chose Potato Salad and the Ruffles Mac and Cheese). The brisket was tender, the ribs fell off the bone and the chicken was seasoned perfectly. I personally loved the ribs and brisket - no BBQ sauce needed! Everyone had multiple servings from the divided portions and it hit the spot! The sides were the perfect compliment to the main course and I will always sing the praises of the best Mac and Cheese that features crumbled Ruffles Queso chips (everyone absolutely loved the crunchy and soft textures). Not pictured: Texas Twinkies (brisket and cheese stuffed jalapeños wrapped in bacon and covered in BBQ sauce. They were a good mix of sweet and spicy and also a big hit! In addition to the meal, Choche's has pickles, BBQ sauce, onions and bread slices setup for you to add to your meal. We really enjoyed visiting Choche's BBQ and celebrating my birthday with all the good vibes. On weekends, there may be live music or if a sporting event, it's on the TVs. So first off the food is amazing and so consistent the one bad thing is that I never buy enough to take more home because I always want thirds and fourths . The brisket is so juicy and cooked perfect with that beautiful ring. The sausage is good and well the amazing turkey I've yet to try becuase it sells out which makes me believe it has to be that delicious. We got the huge brisket sandwich and the bread alone was yummy and was large portion of meat. The three meat plate the meat on the ribs was falling off and the pulled pork was just as good. As for the sides I'm not too crazy about becuase I just want to be a carnivore but the corn was yummy and the potato salad is more mayo based and definitely yummy. The pickled onions are sooo good and free refills and variety of teas are perfect. The service from the owners are always fantastic they are there to give you suggestions and the price was just right. The pieeeeee ughh soooo good we got the award winning key lime pie and I was soooo sad I didn't take more home becuase my poor husband didn't get to have much because I didn't want to share. The place itself doesn't look like much from the outside but don't let that fool you the inside is so nice and backyard or home feel making you feel welcomed and they have a full bar which is perfect. Wow, this is good eating! Dropped by while traveling, met with owner himself. They were out of pork belly, so we had brisket & pork ribs. Man, the brisket is soft & moist, thick slices on bread! Forget about it! I was hooked, my wife had the pork ribs. The meat falls of the bone, seasoned perfectly! No sauce needed! The atmosphere is great & welcoming. This place is an amazing hidden gem. It is hidden with 2 other establishments but is very big once you get in. The prices are very reasonable and the food is amazing. Being a native of Texas this place has some top tier bbq. With that being said they have won numerous awards and recently in 2024 some bbq awards at the SA Rodeo. Eagle pass isn't known for very much these days regarding food but this should put them on the map. They service is good and the restaurant has a huge area if you want to have a big gathering. This spot is really good BBQ. The plates are huge! Three meat plate can feed 2-3 people. But most of all the quality of the bbq is definitely above average and this coming from a person that has eaten a FUC ton of BBQ. You will mot break the bank either. The staff is awesome too, once they know its your first time here then it all makes sense. Eagle Pass does have a way of treating you like you have been there all your life. Ok now for the hard part of your bbq adventure here at Choche's...This restaurant has challenge that is you can find the from entrance in under 17.5 minutes then you win the rubber tortilla.
