Their menudo and hamburgers are great, feels like you're in Mexico! Excellent service.

Tacos rojos: filled with ground beef.

This place is ok, mediocre at best. I had the tacos rojos, which had 6 ground beef tacos with rice and beans. They were ok, but too greasy for my taste. They came topped off with lettuce and yellow cheese. The chips and salsa served were ok also. Chips were very salty for my taste. I would come back, but order something else. I'd like to try the caldo de res at some point. Given I haven't found a great Mexican food place here (which is sad given it's a border town), I'd come back. I had high expectations for this place, which of course weren't met.

Food was ok but the place was full of smoke me and my wife came out smelling all Smokey and I think it's to pricey for the food we got.

Gaona's in Eagle Pass serves delicious breakfast and lunch I've never had dinner, and the prices are great.

Image your grandma's best patch of beans. You remembering how good she makes them? Now forget about them because these are better!!!! They're the perfect amount of spicey, with a flawless flavor that makes you go mmmm. Now, my husband ordered an order of mini tacos. 5 come in an order. He chose the mixto order. Which means he was able to pick five different types of meat to go into each taco (one flavor in each). * Sirloin, bistec, chicken, etc.* He was in love!!! He was in such a good mood after eating these tacos, I took advantage of his mood and ordered my whole wish list from Amazon. The green sauce on the right of his tacos in the pic is sensational as well. If I wasn't a Christian, I would have put that bottle right into my purse. The only grievance I have is that their tea is flavored. But I'm basic so that might not bother most people. But it sure did break my heart that they don't have plain regular sweet tea. And the service needs work. They're not rude what so ever, they just forget you're there sometimes. Ladies if you're in the Eagle pass area and been wanting a new purse.....bring your husband here and you'll have that purse looking captivating on your arm in no time. Ps, they have wifi is you can order it while waiting for the check.

This time we ordered the green enchiladas and a ribeye steak. The enchiladas were good but the steak was blue! I asked for medium well and this thing was still mooing. We ordered takeout so I had to cook it myself just to make it edible. The plate also came with a half baked potato and it was just that "half baked". Most of it was still raw. Very disappointed.

Probably some of the best in Eagle Pass and priced in par with other places but I would say the quality here is better. Lengua is $14.99 a pound. Yes, this might as well be gold bullion. I'm not joking. It's damn good. And worth every penny. Depending on how much you ask for, it may come sliced so make up the weight you want. When I stopped, I ordered a pound and got pretty much the entire tongue (makes for an awesome pic for those that don't eat or never eaten it). Barbacoa was $5.99 for mix and $9.99 for all meat (cheek). Both were really good and they typically drain it for you so you don't get a whole lot of grease. Barbacoa is only served on Sundays. Rain or shine. Year round. Find it!

My coworker went on and on about their famous bacon burgers and ripe avocados so much, that I just had to check the place out. It's a small establishment with several parking spaces outside. Inside you can find canned goods, drinks, vegetables and a meat department. The bacon burgers are to die for! I mean they are a bit expensive but definitely worth every penny! We asked around for those "always ripe avocados" and were given a pick from over 10 ripe avocados. Wow! It would have been a challenge to get those at any of the major grocery stores. I was only in Eagle Pass for work and I miss those burgers right about NOW :(
