    Great fajitas
    David R.

I've eaten here a couple of times when I visit Eagle Pass. Both times have been the same! Great service, very good food and leaves you wanting to come back next time! I had the fajitas (beef and chicken) this time. They were very good! I really like the 3 dips they bring with chips before the meal. As my waiter told me, "the one on the right will make your tongue sweat!" All three are good and he's right, one is really hot to me. The restaurant is beautiful! When you come in the door, you see the dessert case and if you're lucky , you might hear the waiter/waitress's sing Happy Birthday to someone. When in Eagle Pass, Parrilla De San Miguel should be on your list to visit! Go get Full

My food was very COLD!!! My wife's food was very warm/hot. I took one bite of enchilada it was very cold, took a bite of another enchilada and it was cold as well. I told the waiter, he took my plate and came back with my plate, they obviously microwaved it. It was finally hot, the taste was okay but nothing to brag about. I didn't mind the 45 minute wait on the food even though the place was not packed and they had plenty of waiters. We hadn't eaten in this place in over 5 years, I won't be stopping by anytime soon.

Came here after winning at the casino. Ordered a steak that was very delicious & cooked to my liking, med well. The service was good & the ambiance was welcoming. No wait, we were greeted & seated immediately. The desserts were great, a work of art! I ordered the red velvet, super awesome. The price wasn't bad either considering I ate steak. Will be coming back for more, desserts.

    Tampiquena

Unique restaurant with great ambiance. Servers very friendly and food is oh so delicious. I got the tampiquena: steak, beans, rice, and an enchilada. Perfectly flavored with just a touch of spiciness. The beans have an unusual slightly smoky flavor I absolutely loved. Even the chips made my mouth water. Love everything about this place.

Tampiquena plate... includes 2 enchiladas (not pictured), 12oz Ribeye, charro beans, rice, and grilled onion/jalapeno medley.

This place has a very elegant vibe. I sat in the bar area which had plenty of TVs. Beers were ice cold. The service was quick and consistent. My dinner was pretty good besides the bland enchiladas. My steak was cooked to my order.

Went back here yesterday (Saturday) right before 5pm. It was pretty packed in here but service was still good and fast. Drinks: had the mojito and mango margarita on the rocks this time. Mojito taste refreshing but no alcohol. The margarita in the rocks was much better, good flavor and strong enough. Food: had the tacos camaron pastor which were soo yummy and comes with a side of fries. Also had the championes huerfanos (shrimp sautéed with mushrooms in white wine sauce) to go. It comes with corn or flour tortillas or you can mix them. The flavor on that was soo good! The shrimps were small though, size of salad shrimps. My buddies had the molcajete, they said it was 5 stars.

The food was amazing. It arrived promptly and was instantly dazzled by the fantastic aesthetic. The place was wonderfully decorated. The service was quick. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a great dining experience. The flavors of the dishes were well-balanced and delicious. The presentation of each plate was also impressive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

"Had a terrible experience at parrilla ] today. They mixed up our drinks, and the waiter kept making faces at us. Then, a younger lady at the front who asked if we were okay and we explained our situation. She said she would take care of it but rolled her eyes at us. When they finally brought my water, the waiter handed it to my friend, saying, 'Oh, this isn't yours, it's hers,' based on a paper inside the cup--like, how could he even tell since we both had water? Overall, the customer service was horrible."

    Tampiquena

This place, for the hype, did not impress me. The food is good and the service was good. The hype is probably that it's the best-looking restaurant in Eagle Pass. My steak was cooked the way I wanted. I ordered the Tampiquena.

Raw Ribeye that was ordered very well done.

We placed a telephone order for a tampiqueña Ribeye VERY WELL DONE and they served it RAW and my husband didn't realize it until he reached the middle portion of the steak. All the center and bottom half was raw. We took it back and a "manager" named LAURA refused to replace or exchange it because my husband picked at the well done portion of the steak. She, however, offered to take that semi eaten ribeye and throw it back on the same grill as other customer's steaks and food. That's not sanitary nor ethical! She humiliated and berated him in front of many customers with her snotty remarks about how everyone likes their steak differently and offended my husband for liking his steak well done even though she stated she wouldn't eat it raw either. His steak was raw! She refused to make it right and refused to provide him with the contact information for her supervisor or the owner. When he asked her why she stated because they don't care, they don't want any of the customers contacting them. This restaurant is a place where we go to often and spend countless hours and amounts of money for birthday celebrations, special occasions, and our weekly family dining. This place has disappointed us beyond recovery. And it's okay because Laura made it very clear that they don't care. Luis took the order correctly, as evident by the receipt, but a cook decided to rush the steak and serve it raw. Ashley willingly and shamelessly delivered Laura's messages to us by telephone and when my husband went in person, Laura in the flesh humiliated him and belittled his taste for a well done steak. That's okay. One day they will be sitting at the other side of the dining table with raw meat.

I found this place with no issues but parking was another story. I really didn't know where to park so I just parked next to the garage and thought that would work. lol. It did. I walked in and didn't know if I should seat myself so I just stood there and then I was told to sit anywhere. I chose to sit at a booth but after I got settled I realized I should have sat at a table because the table at the booth was too low and it slanted, sloped to the left. As I was looking around I noticed all the booths were like that. I decided to get the buffet. It was quick and I could see the food and decide accordingly. There was a good selection but I didn't see enchiladas. . . well what I think of as a traditional enchilada with cheese and sauce. I choose carnitas, picadillo, potato taquitos, caldo de rez, rice, carne guisado, and not sure if it was a taco or chalupa, and a lemonade. I didn't eat all this lol it was more so a tasting menu. Everything I had tasted good but I was missing that cheesy enchilada. I also had some chips and salsa. . . Red and a green guacamole type. They make homemade tortillas so I asked for two of each. I had so much food that I ended up taking the flour tortillas with me and ate them the next day. Staff were very attentive and the drink was sooo big they never had to come back to fill it. I didn't realize the buffet was $20. . . but if you can eat then it's worth it. I also didn't realize they had a menu to order from. If I'm in the area I'd give it another try.

Visit date: 04/27/2026 Time range: 7AM-8:30AM…read moredelivery, pickup, or dine in: Dine in Y'all I was born and raised in South Texas. I feel that it is my job to know exactly where the best tacos are located in all of the cities in South Texas. That being said I looked up a few places online in Eagle pass, Texas and then I really deep dived. This restaurant was hidden amongst the MANY MANY options. Only having 14 reviews on yelp I said let me give it a try. I get there parking lot is empty and it's actually a bit confusing how to park. I finally decided to make up the parking myself and parked my car. Walked inside and was greeted by a friendly waitress. Only about three people working there. Dining room was empty. I will say it was around 7:00AM when I walked in on a Monday so I didn't expect no one to be there. That concerned me a little. However, I was given the menu it was all in Spanish. Luckily I understand most Spanish, but just can't speak it. I told the waitress who spoke English and Spanish what I wanted. Which was 2 potato, egg, and cheese tacos on flour; 1 bacon, egg, and cheese on flour and 1 Mexican coke to start and 1 to go. This is my go to breakfast taco order. The order came out rather quickly, but also not too quickly if that makes sense. The waitress brought it out on a beautiful hand painted authentic Mexican plate. The style kind of reminded me of my travels to Puebla, Mexico. I felt right at home. The tortillas were a nice color, the potatoes and bacon weren't soggy, and the cheese was melted! Those are my automatic failures for a restaurant if it is messed up on my breakfast taco and so far Gaona's had passed. Now time for my first bite. WOW. The texture, of the entire taco was amazing. The taco was a decent temperature not too hot which I like. The one thing I really want to rave about and that I know a lot of my family would love- is that the tortilla was TOSTADA and guess what... I didn't have to ask!!!!! Everywhere I go we always ask for our tortillas to be tostada, but this morning I was so exhausted from work the day before that I completely forgot. A tortilla makes the taco. The egg was cooked well, bacon was in strips and CRISPY, but NOT burnt and the potatoes (chef kiss) were perfection. I would say out of all the taco places I've tried this would rank in my top five. One thing I did find myself gravitating to was adding a bit more salt to my taco, but I grew up in a sodium loving family. So my love for salt is unmatched. After I finished my tacos I stayed a little bit longer to finish some work at my table and the waitress still checked up on me even though I should have left a long time ago. It hit around 8AM and people started to come in and this was the crowd I was hoping for as I was concerned no one would be there. This crowd though wasn't just any crowd... I could tell these families coming in with abuelas, abuelos, tíos/tias, primos/primas, the entire familia showing up weren't just guests they were actually regulars. It seemed everyone who enter had been there multiple times already and had their designated tables. That's what I love about a small restaurant like that to the staff you are family and that's what makes the tacos even better. This place is a hole in the wall, but that's a wall I would also run through! Go try it out you won't regret it! Just good luck parking if you are the first one there and there aren't any cars parked already, because when I was leaving all the cars outside were totally parked differently than me, but somehow their way made a lot more sense. Here's what I ordered and cost down below: - 1 Taco Tocino Con huevo: $4.49 - 2 Taco de Papa con Huevo: $3.49ea -2 Coca Cola Mexicana: $4.49ea Total gross amount of order not including tip: $20.51 I'll be back next quarter for sure!
