This place has great food, big portions, and a cool atmosphere. However, as awesome as those are, the staff was amazing. Extremely attentive and helpful. A group of us were in town working on Easter Sunday and started looking for a place open that day. We decided to drive 45 min and give this place a try. I am happy we did. Selena, her family, and her staff welcomed us in, and within a short time, we felt like we were at a friend's house. Stopped by for a late lunch when visiting Eagle Pass. It was a pretty decent BBQ spot, not crazy expensive and worth the visit. The place has a TINY parking lot so watch out. It will get packed. We parked at the abandoned lot next door and took our chances. We must have started something because when we left it looked like the auxiliary parking. After entering, we did a huge u-turn to the right and gathered with the long line waiting for the meet cutter. Right before the main show, there's a menu on the left. We went with the Paco's special at the top of the specials. It came with sausage, ribs, brisket and two sides. The sausage tasted like smooth beef jerky and really enjoyed it. Loved it with their BBQ sauce. The ribs were a bit small, dry, and don't remember when they last were heated. That was a pass. The brisket was good but not great. It was kinda smooth but definitely lacked a flavor profile. No worries, the BBQ sauce was great with it. For the sides we had the creamed corn which was PERFECT and the mac & cheese. Sadly, I'm not a fan of the side, but my lunch date said they were very good. Sadly, I think I miss ordered. I saw someone with one of my favorites after picking up the order and was like: Oh Man I should have ordered that!! Next time I come I am definitely going to try the GINORMOUS chicken fried steak. They made everyone eating order a drinks and very explicitly stated "you cannot share drinks". I was going to order a water and was not allowed to. If I'm at a restaurant and mandated to order a drink because you don't share drinks, that's ridiculous and I would not be going back. 1) for assuming that I didn't just want my water and 2) I know how much I drink, and I didn't even finish the sweet tea that I was made to order. We did not get any refills or anything.on top of that, I learned they charge for refills... so what's the point of everyone forced to buy a drink? Absolutely Unprofessional and Overpriced After waiting 30 minutes just to order and another 30 minutes seated, we were told our order was pushed to the back of the line simply because we ordered a quesadilla. That is unacceptable and shows extremely poor management. The food is wildly overpriced for what you get. A patty melt, quesadilla, Texas Twinkie, and two drinks came out to $51.86--for mediocre portions and quality. To make it worse, they advertise "high-end Texas BBQ" while using Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce (and Great Value products) and passing it off as their own. That's not Texas BBQ. The building is small, overcrowded, and they clearly can't handle a rush. Staff continued taking new orders while ours was put on hold. Multiple customers around us complained and asked for refunds as well. Save your money. Buc-ee's BBQ is better than this place, and I mean that seriously. We got a refund and left for Whataburger rather than wait two hours for food that should've taken minutes. We understand that this isn't fast food however we expected more high quality service for such highly recommended and priced BBQ. The brisket was just average and the chicken fried steak was so hard to cut and chew. Side are nothing to talk about either. We heard about this place through a cousin of my cousin Decided while we were in the area we would check it out and I'm glad we did! First in line on a Sunday at 11:00 A.M., thank you Jesus! Order at the front for BBQ or if you want to try the Chicken Fried Steak (see picture below ) order from the cashier. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We ordered Brisket, Pork Ribs, Sausage (not homemade but that's okay) and the usual sides, beans & potato salad (this IS homemade AND delicious). The beans have Chicharron in them, very cool in my opinion. My sister ordered the Smoked Turkey and that was spot on! So were the Pork Ribs absolutely spot on Ribs!! I hate to say this because my husbands' ribs are the best of course, but these were most excellent. I was not a fan of the brisket, it had more of a pot roast taste & feel, even a little tough. But everything else was a winner! They do get busy, after we left all the tables started to fill up and there was a line. Indoor dining & outdoor dining on better weather days. Something I noticed when they were making my plate..the whole team was examining the cuts of brisket to make sure it was up to par to serve. On our recent trip to the casino, we went and tried out this place. We originally went to go and try the enormous chicken fried steak they serve, but the bbq smelled so good, that we opted to eat that instead. My husband had the Texas toast brisket sandwich, and I had the two-meat plate with brisket, ribs, potato salad and cream corn. We also tried an off menu item, called a twinkie. It's a bacon stuffed jalapeño which has brisket and some cheeses and, in my husband's opinion that was the star of the show. He liked them so much he brought home a couple to have later for dinner. The staff was friendly and attentive. The place itself is quite small and all the tables were all occupied that I thought we would have to wait for a long time, but luckily we didn't. I did feel it was a bit pricey for just the two of us, but would definitely go back on my next visit to Eagle pass. read more

I could have gone for a more smoky flavor, but definitely not bad. The brisket was tender and moist as it should be! I would have liked a spicier bbq sauce option as well. The Sausage is what really left me wanting. The flavor was very mild in my opinion and seemed a bit fatty. Though I didn't order it, I saw the "Famous Chicken Fried Steak" go by my table, and it was HUGE! The entire size of the tray. Probably 12" x 18", smothered in gravy. Originally I scoffed when I saw the $30 price on the menu, but I get it now. You can probably feed 4-6 with one. I'll be trying that if I find myself back in the Wagon Wheel. Since we just had Salt Lick BBQ, we wanted to try something different. My wife's country fried steak was enormous! Lots of flavor, crunchy and tender. Best country fried steak I have ever had. The Mac n cheese side was delicious, very creamy and the chicharron topping added another level of flavor. The fish and chips could have been better. My plate was forgotten and when they brought out my wife's plate, they asked what I was waiting for. When I said fish, they both looked at each other and I'm guessing my order was never placed or given to someone else. I had to wait another 12 minutes. By them I had already filled up with the country fried steak. The fish was flaky but it felt like I was eating salmon. The bottom layer of fish was very hard and chewy. I had to scrap the fish off the hard bottom layer. They also use packet tarter sauce. Over all, just stay away from the fish. I did read a lot of complaints from the last few reviews about the horrible customer service. They are very attentive but their failure to have my order complete is why my rating is so low. A friend of ours told us about this place she found on Facebook and we knew we just had to try it. The restaurant is pretty small but for a Saturday afternoon, we didn't have to wait too long and the staff was so nice and accommodating to our party! You walk in and are immediately greeted with a smile and menu! You order before you're seated! The Famous Chicken Fried could easily feed 2-3 people! They use top sirloin beef and their breading is nicely seasoned and we loved that it doesn't fall apart when cutting, as most steaks I've had tend to do, which I hate! They put just the right amount of delicious white country gravy too! Now to the sides. So the order comes with two 8oz sides so we got the mashed potatoes and loaded green beans. But I'm a sucker for Mac and cheese so I had to order an extra side of their chicharron Mac and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I thought it might have been mixed into the Mac so at first, I was a little hesitant but they sprinkle crunchy chicharron on the top which was a nice added texture. The mashed potatoes were tasty and I liked that they sprinkled some shredded cheese, the loaded green beans were a little on the salty side but I didn't mind too much, in fact, it was quite addicting. They Texas toast was nicely toasted and tasted buttery. I also ordered a sausage link to taste and the flavor was spot on. My mom and I paid about 50 bucks, for the meal and our drinks, this did not include tip, which we left on our way out in their tip jar. I highly recommend tipping of course because this place was awesome and the food did not take long at all! Overall, I think this place is pretty reasonably priced as far as BBQ spots go and for the amount of food they serve. We didn't order any, but our friends said their pork ribs were fall off the bone delicious. I knew I would be too full to try the brisket for dine in, so I ordered a chopped brisket sandwich with potato chips to go which was about 15 bucks. If you are in the Eagle Pass area, I can't recommend this place enough. Stop by, be prepared to wait and if you're patient enough, you won't be disappointed! read more

Service is great and the portion size is amazing although the price has gone up since the YouTuber showed up. Salt on the table is your best friend. This place relies on portion size and instagrammable plating. What's the point of big portions if you ain't going to want more later because it has no taste? If only they added or changed the seasoning because it is cooked well. Go with no expectations and you might fine yourself having a decent meal. Best thing are the onion rings. My wife and I had to come to Eagle Pass "Wagon Wheel" to try their Chicken Fried steak. We can in from Killeen, Texas to visit with family in Carrizo and took them to the Wagon Wheel. They had fajitas and we ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. The fajitas were awesome but had a small serving, and the Chicken Fried Steak huge but over cooked. The side were average but the customers service was awesome, and friendly. We're checked on by the owner in which we told her about the steaks being over cooked and she offered to replace them. We turned it down and told her it was ok. She told us next time if anything is wrong she will make it right, but you have to speak up. Just keep an eye on the Chicken Fried Steak. The rest of the food around us looked great , burgers were huge we should've ordered the burgers. read more
