Was in the neighborhood so popped in searching for some wedding attire for my boys. Searched around and was disappointed to see some cat&jack and lower end brands mixed in. In my opinion prices were a bit high for used items. Saw a baby bjorn bouncer for $50 when i see them on FB being sold for less. Nike sneakers were perhaps 50% off retail price, but with some patience and waiting for a good sale, you can definitely snag some for the same price brand new. Toy selection looked sub par. A lot of the toy items i feel like i can find for free on buy nothing groups, as parents are usually desperate to get rid of them. I saw a pair of Zara trousers that were perfect but because they were new with tag and retailed at $35, they were selling them for $20. Still a bit high considering I am purchasing from a thrift store and have limited selection, so I had to pass on it. I am better off buying a new pair of pants on sale, especially for something that will be worn 1-2x If you're in a pinch and cannot wait for something to go on sale, might be a good place to pick up something last minute. read more

It's a little croweded but items are sorted and catergorized. I wish they would open up to accept more sellers as the items need to be rotated and have more variety. Bought two size 7 dresses here for my daughter. One for holiday family picture and one for Halloween costume. They were purple and pretty. Not pristine (has some thin threads hanging), but cute and I know she will enjoy them! As a Chloe's customer for over 15 years, I've seen many owners and employees come and go. With new owners, processes, quality, and service have changed, sometimes for the better, other times for the worse. Yet, I continue to return to Chloe's because I believe in supporting local businesses and the eco-friendly nature of kids consignment. I'm finally frustrated enough to write this review in the hopes that Chloe's will return to customer/consignor friendly ways of the past. The current ridiculous process of calling a month in advance for a possible consignment appointment only a month out and only on certain days, is extremely frustrating and a waste of time. On top of that, once you think you understand their process, they open the consignment window early which messes up the scheduling. Busy parents do not have time to continually call to make appointments and try to stay on top of ever changing processes. If Chloe's cannot figure out how to accept consignments on any day or schedule appointments any day, the very least they could do is remove the limit on monthly scheduling. My other option, I know, is to take my business elsewhere and I'm getting close to that. read more

The best children's consignment store in the Bay Area and my favorite store on Irving! I love that not only you can purchase or consign clothing/shoes but there's also lots of kid gear, useful toys, etc at this store. Lots of brand new, never used items too! This location gets lots of new things every time I stop by. Customer service is incredible! Michelle is always ready to help answer questions. She has the biggest smile on her face regardless of the time of day. Just today, I was picking up bulky items and called her when I was outside. ***Terrible customer service***don't sell or buy anything unless you want to be left flying.in the wind if there's an issue. So I bought what I thought were soccer cleats at Chloe's Closet in Berkeley. They were labeled as soccer cleats. They're actually baseball cleats. The next day, I then left a message asking them to call me back so I knew what I could do to return them. They never called back. I left another message. I thought their Berkeley store was closed, so I went to their SF store. They wouldn't take them because I hadn't returned them within the week. And I hadn't returned them bc the Berkeley location didn't call me back. I don't recommend this store. I've been going for years. I've never had to return anything until now. The lack of concern was mind blowing. So don't buy or sell anything here unless you're prepared to have no customer service if anything goes wrong. They actually said they didn't mis-labeled the cleats because they label all their cleats as soccer cleats--so it's your fault if you don't know anything about cleats and you trust their label. read more

This is a decent place for kids resell items. Prices are a little high on some items. They sell cat & jack and H&M for about the same prices as they sell it at the stores new. Some of the clothes here look pretty worn and most of the brands they sell are not high end. But, sometimes you get good prices on higher end items like crewcuts, mini boden, Janie & jack, etc... limited selection on shoes for older kids. I've made minimal purchases here. I haven't tried consigning because I normally try reselling my daughter's clothes that are in good condition on resell apps or gifting to my sister for her little one. I've sold at places like crossroads so I know if I take a little initiative then I can get much more reselling on my own. Giving 4 stars since it's green and I believe in recycling. Also, once in awhile I do check out goodwill and I've found crewcuts and mini Boden there with clear tags on them which I've bought so I think they do end up donating unsold items to goodwill. read more

It's a consignment shop so go in with an open mind and hope you can find some treasure. That said, I have a couple of issues with this store: rude salespeople on each occasion I've stopped in (only three times but still), and overpriced merchandise for clothing that is, by and large, a little too well-worn. Sizes seem to stop at age 5 and there are far more girls' clothes for sale, at least at this location. Chloe's Closet also has a small selection of classic children's books and games but again, the prices seem too high for a consignment store. Clothes, some shoes, toys and baby gear, it's worth a quick stop if you're strolling on Irving, just manage your expectations. read more

I've been buying and selling at Chloe's Closet for 10 years. You can't be picky or micro manage your items. I drop off bags and a couple months later, I have $$ to spend on other clothes and toys for My kids. They also save me the trouble of having to go through my stuff to determine if it's donation or sellable. I feel it's a great store and the people who work there are accommodating and nice. I like the selection in here but it's so filled to the brim it's hard to sort through. They had a great selection of snow/ski/winter items ... it's a little odd for a kids clothing store that strollers do not fit in this place- so I have to remember to wear my child when I come in instead. I have both sold and bought at Chloe's for year. They are a wonderful small business that I am delighted to support, and they make buying and selling gently used children's clothes, books and toys a breeze (a great way to lessen our impact on the environment!). The women who work there are always friendly and in a great mood, and I've had many great finds there of brands I would otherwise never buy--it's like any used clothing shopping folks, you have to put in some time and effort to hunt for what you want, but it is always worth it to me! And I appreciate that they do the work of donating any clothes/items they can't resell, saves me that trip. read more

Maybe you will love this place if you try to make money off of your old stuff instead of donating it... But I stopped in to grab a pair of shoes for a friend's kid (long story) and their CIRCO shoes were priced at $11. $11 for Target brand shoes? The shoes were probably $10.99 new. Really overpriced for used stuff. Have more fun by meeting your neighbors at garage sales, or use Craig's List for used kids stuff. This place's prices are nearly the same as new. read more

This is an awful disappointment, especially when I read about how stylish and reasonably priced the clothes are. The reality is that the brands are low end, the selection was very basic (not stylish or cute) and all the clothes looked dingy. You also lose years off your life WAITING! And waiting and waiting and waiting... When offered a choice between a % for clothing exchange or pithy % of cash, I still wanted the money! In the end a bag full of brand name clothes mostly in washed but not worn condition, in season, netted me $12! And I had to pick it up in store or else they would charge me $5 just to mail me the check! And after all that they encouraged me to come back with more clothes! Because it worked out so well for me last time? But seriously this place is taking advantage of our desperation a) Because raising kids in this city is so expensive people think buying new clothes is wasteful. The reality is that there are fantastic end of season sales at anywhere from Hanna Anderson, Tea Collection and Gap to Cat Jack for Target and Carters. (Get on their email lists!) With some strategic spending all for the SAME price!!!They will also last longer in new condition! And b) We have such a paucity of space in our homes that we are desperate to get rid of anything we don't need. But this place is a waste of time - which is precious as parents! I would recommend donating your used clothes for the good karma! On Facebook groups like Buy Nothing SF your generosity in one area could find you in luck for receiving something you need. And you'd be helping out another family instead of being taken advantage of by a store. read more

It's a good store to do some "just for fun" shopping, but like any consignment shop, it's not ideal if you're looking for something specific. That being said, they usually have a good stock of blankets, stretchy wraps, and hats. I've found some good quality gear too- I bought a nice swing and exersaucer here. Consignment is easy- you can drop off & donate or wait to watch them go through your stuff. They will make you an account and keep track of the $ you've earned. The Irving location is Very Small. Your stroller will not fit here. The Bernal location is larger and has a great selection of toys as well as clothes. I was especially impressed with Bernal's selection of sleep sacks. read more

I am only rating this place 4 stars because I can find used dance wear which can be very difficult to find. The dance shoes (tap and ballet) are thrown into a box so you have to sit there and sort through it but you can find almost new shoes for $5-$6 which is a HUGE bargain compared to $30 brand new. I have not purchased anything else at this store used and in my very quick glance, found the pricing to be mixed... low for some items but very high for a lot of not so nice items. But thanks for having great used toddler dance wear. I took 1 star off because parking and traffic is TERRIBLE in this location. Maybe if it were a few blocks closer to 19th but that intersection is super busy. read more

After reading the other reviews, I realized I'm not the only one. It's very disappointing. These were not old worn out clothes. This was my first and last time I will ever go in to this store, which is really sad as I have a 1 year old and live in this hood. And love the ideals of buying and selling used clothes. I usually donate my unwanted clothing but my child has received so much that still have the tags on them I thought why not give this a shot and we can trade or get store credit. Anyways to cut a long story short the middle aged lady in there today pretty much called me a racist when she was explaining what happens to the clothes she mentioned that the clothes usually get sent to homeless children in Mexico. When I replied really I would like it to stay in san Francisco that their are plenty of homeless kids here. To which she replied that if this offends you that Choles Closet is not the place for me.....ok lady I would rather cut my loses and bring the unused clothes to a local charity. It was so bad that another customer followed me out and said how rude she was. I'm only writing this as I'm fuming from the insult. read more

Our experiences with Chloe's closet have been almost entirely sub-par, and we will not be shopping or consigning here in the future. As customers we have bought very few things here because most items seem to be priced too high for their brand and condition. Of the three or so things we have purchased here, two have been toys that turned out to be broken. As consigners we have been dissappointed by the following: 1) No matter how many items they take and what those items are we never seem to have a balance of more than $2-3 on our account. I am talking here about barely worn winter jackets, once-worn toddler water shoes from Brooks Shoes for Kids, rain pants, Skip Hop Diaper bags in good condition, etc. 2) If the prices were lower, or if they had a long enough markdown period, my guess is that more items would sell. This would make it better for both buyers and sellers. 3) When I asked where they donate the items they do no sell they said, "To a church in the Mission" (which is great), but did not name the church. 4) They sort the consignment items out of sight and do not provide a list of items consigned, nor do they keep good records (from the consigner's perpective) about what is sold vs. what is donated. When I asked on my last visit what was sold, I was told "strings" which is neither an item nor a brand that I consigned with them. read more

Seems like a great idea but I was disappointed with the high prices and low quality. I checked out a few baby items and they showed a fair amount of wear. Prices were suprisiningly high -- a few onsies were around $10. There was a blanket thing that was $25. And an Old Navy Maternity sweater for $15. These seem like prices for new items on sale, not used/worn items. For me, quality needs to go up or prices down. I'll probably stop in again to check it out, but it seems like more of a needle in a haystack than I place I'll use regularly. read more

Chloe's closet is a god send for bargain shopping for the kid (why buy new anyways?? The kid doesn't know!). We love coming here making our treks into the city, indian food, then chloe's closet has become a ritual. They have great selection of clothing and shoes, great place to go for the kiddo. read more

Can't recommend Chloe's Closet enough. I've been in the bay area for 15 years and have shopped and sold at the Sunset, Bernal, and Berkeley locations. It's just excellent to reuse kids items - too much waste in the world. Their prices are good, not thrift store cheap but also better than thrift store quality. Probably half or more of our two boys's cleats, shoes, crocs, boots, etc have been through Chloe's, along with many clothing items. Plus its super easy to sell there, and when they have surplus they donate to worthy and local causes. The best! read more

Yes, it's smaller than Bernal Heights- but I have to say I have found some really great stuff here. I've dropped off a bunch of stuff and received hardly any credit [sad face] but I really love what I can find: new stuff with the tags on it, extra cute "brand name" clothes that are hardly used, pajamas, socks and almost like new shoes! Love this place- great for new mom's who are on a budget and love hunting for a bit of treasure. read more

Having checked out both SF locations for baby clothes, I much prefer this one. The one in Bernal is larger, but the Inner Sunset location has nicer ambience, better clothes and friendlier staff. Also, the Inner Sunset is a way better neighborhood to chill out in, given the park, coffee shops, etc that are right there. At Bernal, despite the larger selection, I walked out with two onesies that were pretty worn (one even had a very faint stain). At this location I got a pristine cable knit one piece, a velour one piece, a stripy sweater, a dressy vest (with a little handkerchief built into the pocket!! So cute) and a pair of blue striped pants with green accent drawstring. I could have gotten more but was trying not to go too crazy! I'll definitely be frequenting this place to see what else I can score. read more

My wife and I stopped in here to kill some time. Little did we know we'd be walking out with our hands full of clothes and shoes for our daughter. The shop is a little tight, they definitely make use of the space they have. But, the staff was super helpful. We will definitely be coming back to pick up some more clothes when she moves into the next size. read more

A good selection and very well priced. We managed to get 6 or 7 pieces for about $50. The only downfall is how small the store is. Expect there to be at least 2 or 3 strollers in the store plus moms and kids to match. Staff was friendly and helpful. Can't wait to check out the other location in Albany. read more

I really like this shop. I have found many beautiful clothes for my daughter, as well as some organic sleepers, and shirts. My daughter loves coming in here to look at the books and toys, and we always walk out with something. I also consign here, and have found it to be really easy...no need to make an appt to drop off items which is a plus! I opted for the store credit option, and always look forward to using it in the shop. It feels good to buy locally at Chloe's and not spend a fortune on clothes! read more

Really good if you are doing a trade vs. selling. I've gotten awesome things in here, specifically jeans, jackets, rain and snow gear for my son. Yes it's tiny, but what are you gonna do. I always try to bring clothing that I know is going to sell, (no stains, in good condition, etc.). The women who work there are very nice and helpful. read more
