Before even setting foot in the Chloé boutique, I knew what I wanted. Unfortunately, the customer service at the beginning of my visit was a bit off. The boutique is small, and there were only a couple other shoppers, one of whom was in the process of checking out. Several aloof employees were hanging out near the shoe area, and I definitely saw one woman look at me and then continue about her business. I hope these customer service reps work on commission, because the staff members who did end up assisting me were great (the only two staffers doing anything of value in the store).
A woman asked if she could help me and then brought out the bag I wanted to see, along with a couple other options as well, which was great. I had a brief moment of panic after asking about this specific bag that they might be out of stock, as was the case when I asked about a bag at another nearby retailer (not Chloé). Not an issue here, which was a relief! I should also add that everything in this store is unbelievably beautiful and feminine. I wanted it all!
I made my decision quickly and we were off to the check-out process. My husband and I were offered beverages, which was great, because I needed a cold glass of water to keep myself from hyperventilating over the large chunk of dough I was dropping. The woman who helped me, along with a gentleman, got all my tax paperwork taken care of, and explained everything. All I had to do with the paperwork was get it scanned at the airport and toss it in a mailbox. Easy peasy... though I'm still waiting on that refund several weeks later.
As for Chloé, my experience ended on a positive note and I love my new bag. If you're visiting from the States you will really luck out with any high end purchases at this time. The same bag would have cost several hundred more at home. I'll be returning to Chloé on my next Paris trip for sure. read more
