Staying in the area and stopped in for Taco Tuesday, delicious! The barrio beef is like barbacoa with more flavor. And the crisping of the tortillas helped it hold up And stay together to be dipped in the extra juice. We've been to so many Mexican restaurants and never had anything like them. A hidden gem honestly! I'm always scared to try "fast food" Mexican places but Chiapas's is SO good. The steak fries are amazing and so are their tacos. Those two things are my favorite on the menu. I've tried the burritos and bowls before and they're good, but not enough meat in my opinion. My burrito was full of beans and my bowl was pretty small. Best mex in town! You select what you want in your burrito, bowl, 2 tacos I love the al pastor and the pollo asado. I wish I took a pic of the burrito I got there the other day the delicious cheese was melted with the pinto beans, green chili, cilantro and onions, and pico toppings. It's really the best in town! Best little secret in Scottsdale! This mom and pop Mexican place is the BOMB! I had the tacos~ carne asada and pastor, both were so good! The frijoles taste just like they do in Mexico. I polished off my meal with homemade horchata that I couldn't get enough of. Everything so was fresh and their prices are very very reasonable! I will definitely be back, can't wait to try more. From the family that brought us the Scottsdale icon, Los Olivos Mexican Patio, we now have a modern, Mexican gem in our South Scottsdale neighborhood. Chispa, a daughter of the Corral family, renovated an old drive -thru liquor joint, improving the look of the Thomas & Hayden corners. Awhile back we ordered take-out lunch burritos but were only three-stars impressed - probably a bad day for Chispa's. We just felt like our food that day was not as flavorful as we hoped. Maybe it's because expectations are just disappointments waiting to happen. Regardless, we debated the wisdom of going back but the reviews on yelp, our unwillingness to cook and Chispa's proximity to our house made it seem like it was worth another shot. The breakfast burritos we had this morning were solid. We really liked the choice of ingredients and the quality of them as well. The burritos weren't cheap ($36) but there was a lot of flavor and a lot to eat in a single burrito. My son had a chorizo & egg with guacamole, Monterrey jack, potato and rice. My wife had potato & egg with avocado salsa, cilantro & onion, Monterrey jack pico de gallo, guacamole, and rice. I had a bacon & egg with avocado salsa, cilantro & onion, potato, roasted green chilies and refried beans. I liked the flavor so much I kept stuffing my maw even though I should've stopped. Chispa's was exceptionally delicious! My wife and I stopped in here on a whim and we were so blown away with the quality of food, the fantastic service and hip atmosphere. We each got tacos for dinner ( I had fish and she had veggie) and the flavors of the tacos were so good especially with the fresh salsa and the avocado sauce was perfect. My wife and I are already talking about when we can go back. This will be a new spot we eat at all the time! We highly recommend it. read more

If you're looking for delicious food that is fast, you've got to try this place. The food was fresh, tasty, and the service was great. We were a little overwhelmed by the menu at first but the cashier recommended the potato and it was amazing! My daughter got the breakfast burrito and she loved it, I've never seen her eat so much of a breakfast burrito before (she's 9). My son got a burrito and my wife got a quesadilla. I was so excited to try this place...and so disappointed with the overall experience and customer service. On October 3rd I remember that this location opened a few miles away from where we live. I was excited to give this place a try and add it to our order out rotation! I placed a mobile order, upon arriving I waited for 12 minutes in the drive-thru line, past my pickup time to retrieve my order. I should have gotten out of line and walked in but I was blocked between two vehicles so committed. Gal at the window seemed caught off guard when I arrived to report that I was picking up an online order. she came back to the window to report that they were out of horchata and she would find her manager later to void the drink from my receipt, which did happen. Disappointed about my horchata and hungry I grabbed my bags and headed home. By the time I got home and opened my bags I realized that my two kids meals which were supposed to include a side of beans and rice were just a single taco each. When I called inquiring as to if there was a mistake, the staff member who answered my call said she wasn't sure and that she would have to check with the kitchen. She came back and let me know that there was a miscommunication in the kitchen and yes there should have been sides with my children's meals. She told me if I drove all the way back over that she would give me the missing sides. Since everyone was so hungry I found some chips and salsa in my cupboards and gave my kids beans and rice from my meal to compensate. I told her that I already waited in line long enough and that my family was very hungry so we would not be driving back to pick up the items they did not include our meal and I would compensate with items around my house. There was no apology, no credit offered, no coupon, nothing. I paid $14.75 (+sales tax and tip) for two basic kids tacos. I paid $10 (+sales tax and tip) for an adult meal with two tacos with two sides. I did not want to leave negative review. Since I placed the order online I completed a survey associated with my receipt regarding my experience that night, indicating that I would like for somebody to call me back so I could share my experience to avoid it in the future and help others avoid it as well. Almost 5 weeks later and no call back, so I'm leaving a review of my experience. The tacos were good but experience and customer service were very disappointing. read more

This time around the pastor is dry, the quesadilla is lacking the added chicken is flavorless. I wanted to try again so bad, I ordered and my husband wouldn't get anything despite being hungry. Sorry it's just not there. If it's any reference our go tos are Los taquitos and Carolinas. I hate to write a bad review, but it's worse every time I've tried it :( read more

I'll give it 5 stars. I loved my bowl with carne asada, green chilies, sour cream, and pico de Gallo. The food was delicious, light, fresh, and very flavorful. I wish there was a little more, but I would probably feel tired and need a nap. It was probably the perfect portion, but it was so good I wanted more.
