I was recommended by my room Mate to try this doctor for my arm pain .. my first odd experience was making the appointment, the person on the other end was very stale , not a happy one ! I got there also no greeting or acknowledgement, I went and told the receptionist my name . I sat and waited . They took me to a computer room to watch videos that explains a little bit about the doctor and what he does . The place is very old , but the doctor is very sweet . I came in with a problem thinking the doctor would explain what was wrong with my arms & pain, what I needed and what can he do for me .. there was no type of explanation, I did lay on a bed with acupuncture for about 20 min . They did give me instructions to take home , what not to eat or bathe in , there was no follow up appt Nor an explanation about this list of instructions. neither the receptionist or the doctor explained anything of a plan or next appt or my diagnosis.. it was a very strange appointment.. The problem still exist , I spent $180 for the visit , I think the first visit should of been a consultation (no charge ) to find out exactly what I needed. But it was a waste of my time & money . If you have never tried acupuncture and have been thinking about it you really have to try Dr. Lai! When I went last year right before Covid, the only way that I can explain it is that afterward I felt like myself again. This year, I explained some of my concerns and it feels like a miracle! I have noticed huge improvements in my pain, posture, mood, and tension. And I have only been twice. I had never been to a chiropractor before because I've heard of bad experiences and I've seen crazy videos online. I finally decided to go in to see Dr. Lai and he completely changed my view!! I went in because I had reoccurring lower back pain for years. I had tried going to the doctors, heating pads, pain killers and nothing seemed to work so I didn't have much hope. After my first session I was shocked! My back immediately felt better and after a few sessions it is almost completely gone. Everyone here is so kind and they make you feel so welcomed. I had my first acupuncture experience here for worker's comp. I thought it was a good experience, albeit weird. The weird part was the doctor's approach to speaking with patients. I thought he just had a quirky personality at first, but it really just comes across as condescending. Even if you're intelligent, it doesn't behoove you to talk down to patients. Also, your room is shared with another person who is also getting acupuncture at the same time. So, taking a nap while receiving treatment was challenging because the old, disgusting, intermittently working headphones they give you to drown out the other patient's sleeping sounds don't do their job! It wasn't until I received treatment for other issues at a holistic center in Ventura that I understood just how bad Chiropuncture was. If you've never had acupuncture, avoid this place because you might keep going back like I did just because you don't know any better. The positive reviews left by other people also help to make you feel like you're just overexaggerating how bad the experience is. If you have had acupuncture before, you will know after your first visit that you will never come back. So do yourself a favor... just stay away from Chiropuncture! read more

I went to Dr. Lai for severe stomach pain. I lost 7 pounds and could not eat due to stress. After a course of Prilosec, with no relief, I decided to try Dr. Lai who performed a treatment of accupuncture and some herbs. After the 3rd treatment I felt remarkably better. I have been having back pain for awhile now and Dr.Lai was the first chiropractor I've been to. His office is very relaxing and the staff is really friendly which made me feel very comfortable. Unfortunately my insurance doesn't cover any chiropractor service, but Dr. Lai was still willing to help me out. My insurance did cover acupuncture and that's what we went with.
