So I had a minor chip in one my front teeth and just needed it evened out but they had to shoot me up with novacaine which was totally unnecessary but I went along with it in order to get my tooth evened out. It was so minute of a chip only I noticed it because, I felt it with my tongue. The next time I went was supposed to be just for a cleaning but low and behold my insurance I was told will cover full facial X-rays and gum decease diagnostics so they said they couldn't just do a cleaning without doing everything else that the insurance paid for. They did everything else and then wanted to reschedule me for my teeth cleaning which would have been an extra visit charge. I confronted them about what was going on and they said that they would remove me as a patient. I was Okay with that because, I knew that I was be charged excessively. After an exam, he explained that I had a rare but treatable tear to the cementum (part of tooth). Of course, he couldn't be 100% sure, but he carefully explained the procedure, risks and possibilities. We decided to go through with it. He did, in fact, find the tear. And repaired the tooth and bone tissue during the procedure. When I returned to my regular dentist, he was so surprised -- he in fact had never heard of this condition. I am so pleased and happy the Dr. Silberg and his entire dental practice.

He treated me like a long time patient and completely fixed the tooth in one visit. Furthermore, I've been back several times now and have begun a long journey to repairing what's left of my teeth, and this is the only place I'd ever recommend. ****MOST IMPORTANTLY**** With insurance, my patient cost is far more reasonable than I had anticipated, and they accept Care Credit which makes it easier for the big jobs. Now here's the part that shocks me; recently I had 2 root canals, post (a screw inserted into the remaining tooth) and crowns put in side by side. When I cracked a tooth and needed other work done I decided to try the Dental Spa. And I am so glad I did, The initial exam was very pleasant, the dental hygienists were fun, gentle and kind. The massage chair and getting to watch the Olympics on the ceiling mounted TV really helped. It was decided I needed several root canals and some permanent bridges to replace some missing back teeth and redo my front teeth which were also losing the rather large fillings. It was scheduled and I was given a prescription for a sedative. They also gave me a whitening kit so my lower front teeth would be their whitest when the upper front bridge were made. I had the 5 hour procedure 4 days ago.I went into the relaxation room, laid down on a comfortable chaise with a fluffy blanket. There was a soft glow from a salt lamp, ocean sounds playing and a scented candle burning. After I was sedated they did the procedures. Next thing I know I was being tucked into my bed at home, no memory of the surgery at all.There was minimal swelling, very little pain and the temporary bridges look amazing,just like my real teeth. I can't wait until the permanent ones come in. They called me 2 days after the procedure to see how I was doing and had me come back in today to check my bite and make any slight corrections. You have to cancel an appointment A WEEK IN ADVANCE or they charge you! Who knows a week ahead of time if something is going to come up that would make you cancel an appointment? Plus they make you pay a deposit when you make an appointment and you have to prepay BEFORE the appointment starts. I've never heard of that. So, you can see where their priorities lies. I went in for an assessment and received a lengthy treatment plan. I made an appointment and it wasn't until a few days later I thought maybe they were planning to do all the work at once. I called to ask and yes, it was the case. That was too much work at once for me so I arranged to get just a few procedures at my next appointment. I wasn't given an amount I was expected to pay at the appointment. I checked the treatment plan and determined the copays would be covered by my flexcard for Medicare so was not prepared for a large expenditure. I went in for the appointment and the person at the desk was quite rude. I went to the desk and waited for her to acknowledge me but she didn't so I said my name, waited again and she didn't say anything. So I started to go and sit down. Then she said something about signing some papers so I turned around and went back to the desk. Apparently, I was supposed to pay $1200 that day before my appointment to prepay on crowns for root canals I was getting which I had not expected. As I hadn't prepared for that amount, I was taken aback and what was going through my head in that split second was what's the best way to pay this for me financially? Will they charge me a fee if I cancel? Will I lose my deposit? What cards do I have on me? Do I have time to do a transfer from savings to checking? Should I take money from my 401k? In my haste I thought I could use my flexcard and put the rest on the only credit card I had with me that would cover it, which I didn't really want to as it had a high balance already. I also have pretty rough physical issues that make just going somewhere a major chore so I didn't want to have to come back. So, I try 3 times to put my flexcard through their machine and each time it didn't work. Finally, the girl spoke up and said the last customer's card didn't work either. It wasn't till much later that I realized she probably wasn't pressing the right buttons. It was completely their fault as I checked later and the card was fine. So, I ended up putting the entire amount on my credit card. It was a lengthy procedure with alot of novacaine involved and wasn't till the next day that I felt better and thought I probably should have used another card I had that had no interest for 6 months so I called to see if they would switch my bill to the other card. Guess what? They refused. They said they paid a fee for me to use my card and they weren't going to pay a second fee. When I suggested they call the credit card company and try to get the fee waived they brushed me off. And, she said, "Well, you signed these papers" like I was disputing the amount and I thought that very rude. She also made some other rude comments. So, now, I'm stuck paying almost 30% interest every month for God knows how long until I pay off the entire balance on my card and my minimum payment has doubled. I had to go back to get my crowns but that's it. They mysteriously weren't able to take my flexcard plus sprung this large bill on me and wouldn't do anything to make it right. I'm done with them.

Sooo, I happened upon Verona Dental Care via Facebook ads, a friend liked them, and they are just down the street from my eyecare place. I will say a first time routine dental visit was 3 months out. After getting through that hurdle, a couple days before the appointment. I got a text giving me the procedures for a new patient -- xrays, 3d scan, and gum evaluation, but no cleaning at this appointment. I do wish they had said that 3 months ago... I don't have insurance; instead i have a discount plan, which they accept. I remained concerned about costs so at every turn, before appointment, during appointment, and every procedure, I made sure to keep asking about costs. Surprisingly, my final costs were extremely low. No price gouging and no unwarranted upcharges. Procedures were xrays, 3d scan, gum evaluation as stated prior to my visit. Then, my hygienist, Hannah, had time to do the cleaning after all after one other patient. I had sealant easily applied to one tooth and flouride treatment, all of which was discussed with pricing, and I accepted. I have two fillings to be reapplied on a future visit and that is all after meeting with Dr. Gupta. I was impressed by the entire staff. I met and interacted with Cally (spelling?), Kel (spelling?) and Dinah, as well, and all were professional and very pleasant. Dr. Gupta and Hannah accessed my teeth and gums appropriately with plans for future care. The technology used is first rate. Xrays were done with a handheld thingamajig with no need for the lead apron or them to step out of the room. The gum evaluation, sorry to say, is still a poke you in the gums event. That has not changed. Oh, and bonus points -- there are free water bottles in the waiting room lobby.

The practice uses AI to analyze x ray imagery and 3D imagery of teeth- everyone knows how prone AI is to hallucinations- and relies on that for diagnosis. While the office is professional on the surface, my experience overall was extremely frustrating and costly. After my permanent crowns were placed, I developed persistent sensitivity in my right front tooth (cold and hot) that did not improve over time. I also felt a noticeable ledge/step on the back side of the crown near the gumline, which made me concerned about the fit/contour. Aesthetically, the crowns also looked longer and bulkier than expected with heavier incisal edges than what I was aiming for. When I tried to address these concerns, I was advised to pay for additional diagnostics (a wax diagnostic). After I paid for it, the office later terminated the patient-provider relationship instead of completing the planned corrections. What made the situation especially difficult was the refund process: the office confirmed in writing the refund amounts, but repeatedly stated the refund would only be processed if I signed a broad "release/indemnification" agreement exactly as written. The agreement was extremely one-sided. It went far beyond acknowledging a refund and included sweeping waivers and protections for the office, along with a "non-disparagement/online statements" section that, in my view, would discourage patients from speaking openly online about their experience. I was not comfortable signing something like that just to receive an agreed refund. Overall, I'm deeply disappointed by how concerns were handled. The communication and resolution process felt dismissive and, at times, misleading - more focused on protecting the office than responsibly addressing the problem. My takeaway is that the approach felt money-driven, and I left feeling I couldn't trust the process. I would encourage anyone considering treatment here to do thorough due diligence and not rely solely on online ratings.
