I'm actually glad I waited a few months before writing this review so I could fully evaluate our experience. We purchased a used vehicle here on September 18, 2025. The owner assured us it was a great car and told us the entire vehicle came with a three-year warranty. He specifically stated that if we experienced any issues, we should bring it back to him and he would take care of it. He also said the vehicle had been thoroughly inspected to ensure there were no other problems. Within a few weeks, we discovered that was not the case. We had to return multiple times for an oil leak that was not properly addressed during the first visit (from a BRAND NEW Jasper motor). After three to four trips back, the leak was finally repaired. Before taking it back the final time for the oil leak, my husband thoroughly inspected the vehicle and wrote down several issues he identified, including a broken mount. Our hope was to have everything repaired at once instead of making repeated trips. He left the list of concerns with the head mechanic. When he returned to pick up the vehicle and saw that these items had not been addressed, he raised the concerns again and was told they had not noticed the issue until he pointed it out to them. A few weeks later, another issue arose and the vehicle had to be brought back yet again. Most recently, my husband contacted them because the transmission began slipping. Given the number of problems we have experienced since day one with a vehicle that was presented as reliable and covered by a warranty, we feel misled and taken advantage of. At this point, we are already out more than $6,000 between the down payment, four monthly payments, and the fees required to transfer the vehicle into our name. We are also facing nearly $10,000 more in remaining payments on a vehicle that may soon be unsafe or undriveable -- a devastating financial loss for our family. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend purchasing a vehicle from or having service performed here. read more

We were in the area on Vacation when the tire on our trailer went flat. Went in to have a tire repaired. It went seamlessly smooth. The staff was friendly and very helpful. read more

Went to Chips randomly because something from under my car was hanging off did not feel comfortable driving they took me right in fixed the problem in 10 minutes and I still made it to work on time, highly recommend them, they go above and beyond. Thank You Meg Ruane read more

they overcharge you if you don't know what your talking about or uneducated on the car

cost me $800 to get my car towed when I was in an accident a half a mile. Another time my wife infinity was making noise underneath so I met her at chips and when I got there I seen somebody using a hatchet to remove the heat shield from my Cadillac converter and he was going to charge me $80. To destroy my car. A few screws would've fixed it and I would still have my heat shield. read more

My truck had a water pump failure less than a mile from the Delaware Memorial Bridge. It was the Saturday before Easter, a number of service stations were closed and I was about 200 miles from home. I was lucky enough that the tow truck driver knew about Chip's and towed me there a little before noon. Not only was Chip very helpful but despite the fact that he had a full garage he was able to fix my truck and get me back on the road by 4:30 that afternoon. He's a very positive, competent and helpful person. I would highly recommend him to anyone. read more

What a prick! This guy offered to do a motor swap and as i went to hand him the money mentions the replaced motor is guaranteed but not the work. Was shady about the progress the whole time i checked in and tried to up charge me for what I'm almost certain was his mechanics messing up. The car breaks down every week since i got it back and he still found ways to charge me for "fixes" to it that in his words, is not the motor but things coming off the motor.. Things that his mechanics worked on during the replacement that he refuses to fix or adjust and tries to charge me for each time cause hes an old bastard with no concept of admitting fault..the second time i approached him about when he can take a look at it he got all loud and bully me out of his shop. What a scum bag. Now I'm out 3k for a ruined car that I've only driven about a dozen times since the motor was replaced read more

Five guys heading down to North Carolina for a golf trip and we broke down. Luckily we made it to Chips service station and Chip and the boys saved the day! Fixed a hose clamp and changed out a hose and an hour later we were back on the road! Thanks fellas! read more

Couldn't have been happier I stopped here! On my way from NY to NC, I hit a truck on the i95. I stopped here at random, desperate for a new headlight and some work to get the car in adequate shape to make it down to NC. Chip understood the problem I was in, and was able to get the parts and fix up my car in no time. I was so stressed out until my experience at chips auto body went so well. Needed a tow today and after waiting 4 hours for our Roadside Assistance to call with one I decided to search on my own and found CB Towing (part of Chip's). They were excellent! They arrived in under an hour despite not giving them the correct address. Driver was courteous, nice, and quickly and cleanly loaded and unloaded our car. Chips was the 4th mechanic we took our car too. No one could seem to figure out what the problem was. After a couple days he called saying the car just needed brakes and rotors and quoted almost 800$ for the job. I was skeptical bc no one up to this point had ever mentioned this and I had already had my brakes done pretty recently. The problem seemed more then that bc the car was actually not running or drive able and we already knew for a fact that the air compressor was shot. Since the car was old and becoming a headache we decided to junk it. My husband called there to ask him to leave the keys because he was meeting someone there to junk it. The guy then told my husband he owed 100$ for looking at the car and he would give him 200$ for the car and call it even. Literally two days later I drove by and he had the car. Up for sale for 500$ down plus monthly payments. Obviously he got over on either us or the person who eventually bought the car bc it is not worth 500$ much less the monthly payments plus the work that needed to be done was going to take alot longer then one day. Also this 100$ diagnostic fee he suddenly charged seemed a bit high. None of the other mechanics charged a fee at all and usually that's something you disclose before looking at the car at all. So not sure what exactly went on here but he def made out with this car and got over on us. read more

my son bought his jeep at chips had it towed and was told by dan that they would not charge storage.went to pick up told son that he owed 900.00 for storage.bought a used engine had them install.went to pick up check engine light on and stalling out.chip said leave it he would check in morning.went back following day to pick up did not look at it and yelled and cursed at me to come back monday.have began process to pursue legal action as well as reported to bbb. read more
