When my husband arrived in the morning, they were busy, so they made an 11:00 am appointment. Within 5 minutes of arrival, they had our car jacked up. We mentioned that we had more driving ahead of us and that we were in town for a wedding that same day. Their service was outstanding and we drove away 30 minutes later with a fixed tire. About 10 minutes after we left, they called us back and asked us to return so they could ensure all our luggage nuts were properly tightened. The gentleman knew we had a lot more miles to put on those tires and he wanted to be sure we'd be safe during the rest of our journey, which I greatly appreciate. I can't give this place a glowing enough review.

I would not recommend this shop based on my recent experience, particularly for customers who may…read morebe in a vulnerable situation. Last week, while traveling for work on the New Jersey Turnpike, my check engine light began flashing. After pulling over, I learned this typically indicates an engine misfire requiring prompt attention. I was towed to a nearby auto shop, where they kindly performed a complimentary diagnostic and identified a misfire in cylinder 3, recommending spark plug replacement. Because that shop could not perform the repair the same day, I contacted several others and found this Firestone location, which had availability. Upon arrival, I spoke again with the Manager named Mike and explained the prior diagnostic results, including the specific misfire code. Despite this, I was now told that an additional "computerized engine analysis" was required to determine the cause, at a cost of approximately $140. I also confirmed that this fee would not be applied toward any repair work. After waiting about an hour, I was told that cylinder 3 was misfiring due to a faulty ignition coil and that the recommended repair included replacing all spark plugs and one ignition coil. When I asked how the ignition coil issue was confirmed, I initially received unclear answers referencing the same diagnostic codes I had already provided, which only indicated a misfire. After further questioning, I was told that the conclusion was based on manually swapping ignition coil connections between cylinders to observe whether the misfire followed--standard plug and play troubleshooting rather than a distinct computerized test that was charged. Given my circumstances--being far from home and needing to continue traveling--I felt I had little choice but to proceed with the repair. The total cost came to approximately $700. After returning home, I compared pricing and found that similar work is typically significantly less expensive. While I understand that pricing and labor rates can vary, I was concerned by the lack of transparency around the diagnostic process and the overall cost, especially given that I had already provided initial diagnostic information. To their credit, the shop was able to accommodate me on short notice, which I appreciated. However, based on my experience, I would encourage others to seek a second opinion if possible and to ask detailed questions about diagnostic procedures and pricing before proceeding.
