We used to love this place. It was clean. The food was fresh and tasty. It was one of our favorite places to eat. Always a line, but worth it. No longer. We went back today for the first time in a couple of years. We will never make that mistake again. The place was filthy. Tables not cleaned. Trash cans running over. Drink table a disaster. The bathroom was cleaner than the serving room. The protein server acted like they were doing us a favor serving us. My wife asked for regular not spicy chipotle chicken; they gave her spicy chipotle chicken. And, it might have been better if it were cooked; it was red. Red. Not the sauce - the meat. They gave us like six beans; we had to ask twice for more beans. The food used to be distinctive, fresh, and tasty; now it is like composite mush. Not tasty at all. Chips were stale and tasted like last year's. We had to clean our own table while like six kids stood behind the bar like it was a high school yearbook shot. We didn't finish our meals and threw most of it in the one trash can that had space. And I know this is picky, but the music was truly disturbing - canned AI music that went from fake Latinx to fake hip/hop to fake house - it was truly hard to eat because this "music" was so unsettling. AI gone terribly bad. The music resembled the food; it was hard to even know what we were consuming. I seldom write bad reviews but I consider this a public service. I have gone to this place for years and really enjoyed it. Today, however, I bit into my burrito and a tick fell out of it onto my table. At first I thought it was just a small black bean, but then I noticed it starting to crawl around. Needless to say I threw my burrito away. I tried several times to call the store to let them know so they could switch out their produce for future customers, but they just stonewalled me into an automated loop and never picked up. The first time I came to this Chipotle was in 2016. I remember the food was great and they gave you a good portion of chicken or steak with your order. There was never that long of a wait and I always thought it was a great place to eat! Flash forward to now and the same location is terrible! I came in here a few days ago to get a chicken bowl at about 4 pm. There's one customer waiting and there is a full staff. I wait in this line for 20 minutes and I see there is food being prepared. Okay great! I can wait for fresh food. I was also trying to be understanding because some people were clocking out so I get it because I have also worked fast food before. So 20 minutes goes by I start to notice a line forming behind me and at the front where the to go orders are. I look behind the wall into the back of the store and the manager and another employee are in the back preparing to go orders. Preparing orders very slowly too. They were back there talking hiding from all the other customers. They had all the meat that the regular walk in customers were waiting for back there and had no urgency to even serve everyone that had just walked in. Finally one employee comes out and starts taking our orders. He makes the bowl for the person in front of me and then he gets to my bowl and Im watching him and he's trying to rush through and get this line taken out and he barely puts any chicken in my bowl. I weigh my food out all the time. I know that the serving for chipotle is supposed to be 4 oz which is about 2 scoops. This was 2 or 3 oz. It was not a full serving of chicken. But fine, I understand, it's a long line. Guess what? They made us wait to be checked out!!! The guy making the food put together everyones bowl and now everyone is crowded around the cash register while the manager is in the back yapping to another employee. They just had this one employee working on the line with a full staff on the clock. So I walked out. Because the least you could do after having all these people wait for 20 minutes is check them out. But no they couldn't get 1 of the 8 employees there to work the cash register. Terrible management. I can't believe this is that same place! It's so bad! Moe's is better! Cava is better! Back in 2016, I remember going to Chipotle and never questioning if I was going to get a full serving of chicken or steak because they would actually load the bowl up. Now they skimp you on the protein every time but if you want double protein its 7$ more. I would complain on their official website but guess what? They don't care! Spilled drinks littered the floor, food on the floor everywhere, the serving area was gross and you can tell it hadn't been wiped in a while and the drink station was sticky. There was no utensils available as well. The service is unfriendly. They act like they are bothered you are there! The food was okay, only reason for 2 stars. This Chipotle just stresses me out. This location has had so many ups and downs since it opened. It was SO great in the beginning and I would literally go 4-5 times a week. I will always love Chipotle. I will never not crave it. It makes me sad this is the most convenient location to me, although neither of the other locations in Winston are much better. There was a certain point where the staff was decent but the food was just not good. I swore it off over and over but I always kept going back to give it another try. I will say, they are back to at least pretty consistent food. I don't order online though, because sometimes it's necessary to ask for more of certain things and make sure they make it up to par. Overall I do like the food 4/5 times here lately. It used to ALWAYS be busy, but at least there's rarely a wait in line. The dining room always used to be bustling and full all the time, but it's never crowded yet it's always a mess. The station with utensils is always out of either forks, napkins or straws. However. The service at this location is ridiculous. I truly have not encountered a pleasant employee at this store in well over a year. I understand every restaurant has off days, but this is literally every single time. Half of the time they have one person building the entire bowl the whole way down instead of having multiple people throughout the line to make it more efficient. The cashiers disappear for sometimes 5 minutes at a time and the line just comes to a complete halt. Always at least 2 employees standing around while the line is at a standstill. They forget things like chips and guacamole in the bag. I have not encountered any employees who have any glimmer of personality. Zero pleasantries, they run out of items like rice, chicken, and chips regularly. They communicate the bare minimum to get you through the line and out the door. Never any apologies for being out of items. I hate that it's so bad, but it just really is unfortunate I want to continue to frequent this place, but the service really is THAT bad, consistently. read more

We have enjoyed chipotle salads for many years. It has been a long time since we've tried one of their salads, so we went there today to try it out. It was not what we remembered at all. As you can see from the photo, their "salad" lettuce was mostly spinach. Disappointing to me was that the cost of two salads was $31! However, the carne asada steak was very tasty. Service was adequate, noisy as usual but well staffed. Relatively clean, although the tables could have been wiped off but given how busy I can understand. We'll go back again some day, hopefully their salad mix will be back to what it should be. read more

I don't know why but ordering takeout and getting food has been a catastrophe. Went in tonight and 15 people standing around waiting for their food - took them a full hour after the pickup time to bring mine out. Worker came out and said "nothing was ready when I got here, so we are getting it up and running". Ten minutes later she announces "if your order is not right please let us know as we cannot see it on our side". I get my bag and it has only the bowl (missing a burrito and a large chips / guacamole). I let them know. They asked me what I want on my burrito. I tell him and he comes out 5 minutes later saying never mind here it is, we have it. Then I said I have a large chips and guac, he hands me a small. I say I ordered a big one and he goes no sorry we don't have those. So I say okay well then I want like 3 more small ones and he goes back and brings out a large I mean you can't make this up - It has been horrible other times, but this trip was a new level of insanity. I tried the pickup option for the first time today, and WOW was it convenient. I used the Chipotle app to make my selection of pick-up locations and food choices. Within the app I was even able to decide the amount of each item I wanted (I.e. Normal, extra, light, none), it alerted me to items containing ingredients that I had designated that I was avoiding in my diet (like cheese and meat), and had all the choices of sides and drinks to choose from. I love chipotle. But this one consistently seems to delay their mobile orders by 10-15 minutes, making roughly 8-10 people wait longer than if they would have showed up and waited in line. I have had my order swapped with someone else's several times as well (correct label, but wrong food). Their AI customer service chat bot said my problem was resolved after me reporting an issue 3 separate times. Chipotle has a good product, but their customer service isn't great at any of their locations, and their app clearly isn't built to function well with high volumes or when orders are backed up. read more

Goodness this was my first time here and boy was I happy we came here. The place was packed when we walked in, so that's an awesome sign. We had a party of six and 2 if them come here often. So I was like what do I do.... So I was like what the heck will I have. Well I had 2 steak tacos and I'm so glad I did. It was delicious and flavorful. I'm convinced that this is the WORST chipotle to ever exist. The staff is always rude and gives below minimum effort.The chips are ALWAYS stale. Chipotle as a whole is going down hill, to a point where I have given up on them altogether. I used to take my kids here once a week or so. I've reached a point where I can't stomach the aggravation any longer. The supply chain and management at these restaurants is grossly incompetent. Every time I visit one of these restaurants they are out of something. To a point where I had started a game with my kids guessing which item they would be out of that day. Some days it would be soda (no biggie, just drink water) or straws. Other days guacamole or fajita veggies (very very annoying, but I can survive). Being out of forks (yes forks) has happened more than once. I've even been told that the registers aren't working so there is no way to pay (really!?!). The straw that broke the camels back was a few weeks ago. On a visit to Chipotle I was told they were out of rice. I asked the employee if they just needed to cook more rice, I would wait. The response was, no, we have run out of rice... Rice? Are you serious? The stuff is like $20 for a 50lb bag that could feed the population of Rhode Island. How on earth can you be out of rice? What sort of management would allow a restaurant to run out of rice? At that point, I decided my family was no long going to play the Chipotle lottery. No matter what, they will always be out of something you want. We are done with this chain. We will patronize our local Mexican restaurants that seem to know how to, you know, run a restaurant. read more

We absolutely LOVE Chipotle food, but there could be some upgrades to how they operate. Chipotle entire staff seems unbothered and show no signs of a smile, making you UNWELCOMED. We often go once a week, around 5:30, close to 6 and, although we love the food, the service isn't as it could be. We often get there when it's down to the bottom and crumbs. This place used to be my go to place. The last 2-3 times I have tried to order food. This is both for pick up at their store and delivery, my order was either wrong, missing an item or I waited over 45 minutes in store for my order. The managers never want to speak to you until the teenage employees fix your issue, and again that's after 45 min of trying to get them to talk to you. Very simplistic review: You can never go wrong with Chipotle. Great, quick service despite being the lunch rush. Got a chicken bowl and chips to go. It was FANTASTIC! The chips tasted so fresh and we detected a slight "lime zest" on the chips today. Delicious!!! A good value for the quality of the food. This is one of my favorite "fast food" restaurants.
