The lady who was managing today, with the nose ring and dark hair, was a real piece of work. She was very condescending towards the staff because they didn't ask each of my kids if they wanted queso after I said, no queso for them. Sh was then doing a hiring interview behind us and mentioned how this is the busiest location in Canada and that just push people through as fast as you can. I went up to ask for a takeout bag with our leftovers after spending $80 and she said there is a fee, so I said oh OK, next thing I know she has turned around to go to something else. Absolutely disappointing and bery surprised that this was the service I got from chipotle after having so many good experiences in the Langley location. read more

Chipotle is pretty consistent across BC, and this one at Guildford is no different. The staff here are actually really friendly and I feel like they give bigger portions than the downtown location lol The carnitas are my favourite, it's really flavourful and soft. I like to get 2 different meats to change up the flavour. The steak and chicken was decent, but unlike the carnitas they don't have that much flavour, so you can't really even tell what it tastes like after it's been drowned in salsa and sour cream. For around 10 dollars you can get a pretty satisfying meal after a few hours of shopping. read more

Omg, this was SO good! I know Chipotle has been around for years and for some reason, I never tried it. Thank goodness for my staff's bi-weekly takeout that finally allowed me to try! I wasn't really sure what to get, but it was like a mexican subway type of place. You get to choose between burrito bowl, burrito wrap, taco, soft tacos or a salad. I recall my friends getting wraps and they were HUGE. All of my coworkers ordered the bowl and so did I. I chose the chicken bowl with guacamole, fresh salsa, roasted corn salsa, green salsa, cheese, white rice and lettuce. When our food came to our workplace, I was shocked at the amount if food they gave! I took a bite and couldn't believe how flavorful it was! I've been eating pretty bland lately due to being on a cut (trying to shred down for an event), and this was the most savory "healthy" option I have had in a while! I devoured the entire bowl and was fully satisfied with my first experience. I was amazed and already looking forward to my next Chipotle outing. I know a couple of posts I wrote about Taco Louis, about how its like a mexican subway. Chipotle is also like a mexican subway where you can choose what you want, however Chipotle's ingredients are high quality and more satisfying in my perspective. Their chicken is definetly not dry like Taco Louis and they use real guac instead of that liquid guac they use at Taco Louis. Definetly need to order this at work again! read more

I've been coming to this location since it opened up (I didn't want to keep going to Metrotown just to have chipotle) and it's never really disappointed me. But it rating it the way I am because the sofrita is the only vegan option and it's a bit too spicy for me. If I weren't vegan, I would definitely add some cheese to tone down the spice! I would give Chipotle a 3.5 stars if I could because I do enjoy the food, the service is just okay, and location is great. My hope is that chipotle, as a whole company, would add more vegan/vegetarian options! read more

I had today the absolutely worst Chipotle experience ever at this location. The woman working there (Pearl) is super arrogant and is constantly hurrying customers through the ordering process. This was at 5 pm in the evening today(December 13th) and there was hardly any queue for her to rush so much. She literally started with skimping on basic things like rice and beans. I had to request her to put extra. Every time she would talk over me and try to rush me to next item. I asked for tomato salsa and she put half a scoop of salsa on my bowl, I asked for extra and she said that I have to pay extra for tomato salsa ! This was not extra meat or guac but just salsa. When I pointed out to her that she isn't putting the right portion in the first place, she accused me of not knowing portion sizes. I am a regular Chipotle customer for 8 years and very well know what portions to expect. I refused to accept this kind of service and she threw away the bowl and moved on to next customer. I asked the girl working at cashier if I can talk to the manager and she said Pearl is the manager. What an absolute horror ! Chipotle, please stop promoting such unworthy people to become managers, there are lot of really nice employees at this store who are lot more deserving. She lacked basic communication skills and is very brash and arrogant. I had the same experience with this same employee multiple times, every time she skimps on portions and give half filled bowls. This was the worth Chipotle experience ever and the worst Chipotle employee that I ever had to deal with. read more

I don't know if it's just the location and the workers or if my taste buds have changed. I used to get Chipotle all the time at metrotown and it was delicious! But I've been to this location maybe 5 times and it's always a disappointment. My burrito is always soggy AF, as if I just dropped it into a puddle and left it their for an hour. They flavour in their sofritas is basically non existent. The only thing I could taste was the rice... and rice barely has a flavour. I won't be going back to this location. This was my first Chipotle experience (American or Canadian) and unfortunately it was underwhelming. Never mind the 25 minute lineup on their 2nd Saturday afternoon open, the food itself just really isn't that great, either that or I am not creative enough to put the right combination of ingredients together to walk away with a urgency to return someday soon. I was turned off by the steep price for a side of uninspiring Guacamole ($2.20...come on mannnn) and lack of spice in the chicken of my $9 burrito. There are a lot of good places to get Burritos in the Lower Mainland and generally places like this Taco Del Mar etc. are establishments I recommend people to stay away from, that's just my bias. The one pro is that the interior design is very attractive and once their liquor license gets approved it might be solid, late evenings hang out for some in the Guildford area. read more

The ladies working at the food order line we're having a contest to see if they can make each customer interaction (order) faster than the last. I felt like an order piece on an assembly line. They didn't even look me in the eye, smile, or act kind, it was just robotic so to speak. After I paid, they were talking about whether they can get even faster than my order. FILTHY!!!! We couldn't believe what we saw tonight. There wasn't one single clean area, not a table top that didn't have food smeared on it, garbage on the floors, garbage bins overflowing, etc. Even the front door was smeared with food and hand prints; didn't look like it'd been cleaned in months! But FAR more serious was the condition of the kitchen food preparation areas. Stacks of dirty empty bins piled high & ignored, dirty cutting boards, old food scraps covering the surfaces everywhere. Every surface area was covered with old food... a bacterial nightmare, a breeding ground for Salmonella. We could not see a single surface not filthy. The food line where you order your item... a slop trough. We watched as blindly oblivious staff dragged paper food bowls through this filth like a pig's dinner. It was dis-gusting!! We couldn't eat; we were so grossed out. This is nothing like the downtown location or US locations. I've never seen a filthier eatery in all my life; no joke. If Head Office doesn't give a damn, Public Health Inspectors need to shut this zoo down. It was like one giant food toilet... You could not pay me to go back!!! read more

I have never been able to order guacamole at this location, as they seem to always run out by the afternoon/evening. If you're a fan of guacamole, go early. This location isn't as busy as Metrotown or downtown, as it's a slower location, but they still get their fair share of rushes. Unfortunately, due to how inconsistent things out, they're not always on top of keeping everything stocked. Service could use improving. The staff don't quite look like they enjoy what they're doing. Not sure if the holidays are sucking the lives out of them or if their management isn't scheduling them enough labour. If you've got time and patience, definitely worth dropping by. read more

I love mexican food (particularly burritos) and was excited to try out Chipotle at Guildford. Chipotle has a fair amount of seating, and I was able to navigate through the tables easily with my stroller. The food here is decent. It's nothing to write home about, but you will get a quality burrito or burrito bowl for just under $10. I love how customizable you can make your meal. Don't be afraid to combine the medium and hot salsa, or get both types of beans if it suits your fancy! You can also order online and pick up your order if you don't want to deal with a lineup. My problem with this location is the staff. They really don't seem like they enjoy their jobs. Also, the online orders get complete priority over any order made in store. I watched them make 4 online orders before they made mine, and my friend who ordered behind me had to also wait while they made an additional online order in between us. Also, they gave the online orders way bigger scoops of everything compared to what I got (yes I asked them to add a bit more since that was ridiculous). Why even bother ordering in store then? Next time I'll just order online while I'm in the mall since that's the way to get better service. I do like Chipotle (hence 3 stars and not less), but the staff really need to realize that in person orders should be considered just as important as the online orders. read more

Why bother giving such a low rating because of long line ups? Most of the time when new restaurants open, you would expect the long lines, being understaffed, and being out of product. Its a part of developing par levels and determining labor per hour. Plus, Chipotle always has long line ups no matter what location it is in. This location is still new, so I'm sure they are still waiting on some things... Like their liquor license to serve cold cervaza like all locations, and having their debit machine hooked up. As for food, its consistent. I ordered the steak bowl and it was good. The steak was well seasoned and a but pink in the middle. (They would have lost points from me if it was over done). The sauces were on point, and the corn was good... And not to forget the rice, which is like crack... was consistent as well. I couldn't finish the bowl and took the rest home, I asked for more of their Verde sauce and the girl gave it to me without hesitation and handed it off with a smile. The girl behind the counter was talking to the customer in front of me about their salad dressing, and expressed how delicious it was. I don't doubt her, I crave for anything Chipotle sometimes. I admire her enthusiasm for enjoying her job and what she serves. I'm sure over time, this location will be even busier, especially with the renovated mall. read more

Only complaint would be cleanliness, garbage overflowing (though restaurant was full), windows are dirty, paper on ground. Also, front door deadbolt is stuck open, so door bangs every time someone opens it and let's go. Need to spend more time and resources on maintenance. read more

I love chipotle and usually visit the Metrotown location, but I decided to stop by this one as I was in the area. Big mistake. I waited over 30 minutes to order, the staff had zero sense of urgency with the huge lineup growing and two staff members were standing in the kitchen area talking and looking at the line, and they weren't even cooking anything so I'm not sure what was happening. No manager or shift lead in sight to see what was happening, and the restaurant was not clean. On top of that, they made errors in my order, at that point I had enough. Will never return to this location again, worst service I've experienced with this establishment. read more

For all the reviews complaining about workers being too robotic/fast and dining room being a mess, I can explain as I have many friends who have worked here. The management is awful, corporate expects certain quotas to be filled, workers are TRAINED to serve as fast as possible no matter the situation because they always have too many other tasks they have to worry about. I might also add that the turnover rate is insane, so crew members generally don't stick around to the point where they become masters of their craft. The higher ups push unattainable standards and in turn, forces management to cut hours to save profits (understaffed) and put enormous pressure on workers until they break. Chipotle was once a fast growing chain but locations like the one in Surrey will kill it. Surrey isn't much worse that other BC locations, they are all getting at the low end of the fast food experience. The food may be better then most fast food but this Surrey location is filthy. I've been there twice now and there wasn't a single clean table to sit at. We had to get our orders to go. And the portion size keeps getting smaller. There may have been less than a dozen beans in my bowl and a small spoonful of rice. They were out of lettuce again. Its just not worth it anymore. read more

This Chipotle is just as good as any you would find in the US. My wife and I go to Chipotle A LOT when we visit the US, which is quite often. We fell in love with the friendly service, the quality of food and the healthier but tasty ingredients. I really respect their successful business plan. I love how up-beat and friendly the staff are. The company has a really good hiring standard. They take care of their customers. Whenever they were out of something or got our order slightly wrong, they would give us something free to make up for it. One time they just recognized us from being in there a few times before and they just gave us free chips and guacamole for no reason! Today when we went to this location, they ran out of corn tortillas (my favourite) and just for that they gave us free chips and guacamole. Compare that to the experience I had at the Mucho Burrito in Langley (check out my review). Disgraceful. Why would people not enjoy Chipotle and give one star ratings? Because they just don't get it, or want to get it. I admit, Chipotle isn't for everyone. It is not the street-food style of Mexican, nor is it at all the TacoBell style of 'TexMex' food. It is more authentic and healthier than TacoBell, but not as authentic as street-food or home style Mexican. It is not the greasy comfort food that most people are used to or maybe expecting. Line ups? Yes, there are line ups but that should tell you something. It's popular for a reason. If you don't like line ups for your quick Mexican food, go to Mucho Burrito in Langley, where the service is rude, the food is low quality, and the prices are much higher. No line ups there. Go figure. Check out my review on that garbage of an establishment. I'm just glad that now we have a way tastier alternative to bland Subway for quick health food. Can't wait for the Langley location to open! Anyway, if you like to eat a bit healthier, give this place a chance and you will realize why Chipotle has become such a popular craze in the U.S. read more
