The worker serving the food was very polite and patient, the worker at the register wasn't as helpful or patient when trying to figure out which way to put the card in the pay machine and there was a random person (maybe another worker) just standing next to the counter that had a bicycle. To me that is strange to see. The only thing I thought of was what kind of neighborhood is this. Seems safe, maybe it's not. Food tasted good, veggies were fresh, however I did find two bones connected to the chicken pieces in my bowl. If you order chicken beware of this. It was decently clean but not great. If I could rate this Chipotle a ZERO I would. Place has been so dirty I passed on eating there several times over the last few months, tables needing wiped down, floors with food and napkins all over them. Employees seem to not care and the wait can be much too long. I decided to give it one more try but my visit Monday May 18 was the last straw. It took me 10 mins to get to the counter while several employees chatted with each other and not giving the counter person any help. She had to fulfill orders and check customers out by herself. When I finally got to place my order, I asked for a chicken bowl and was informed they had no chicken but if I wanted to pay more I could order another protein. When I told the young girl at the counter I thought this was not customer friendly, I was told "sorry" with the underlying attitude being "too bad". A sign saying they had no chicken would've been reasonable as would offering a substitute protein at the chicken price. I visit Spokane about 20 nights per year and often frequent Chipotle in towns I travel to. I promise you I will never step foot in this store again. Easily the worst Chipotle I've ever been to. I got a burrito and the portions were insanely small. The chicken had very little flavor and was dry. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! My son was traveling with his ski team. The van of teens stopped at this location on Saturday 11-29-25. 9 out of 13 people who ate at the restaurant were violently sick with food poisoning 30 hours later. And yes, we are certain the poisoning came from this location. (Our best guest as it came from the rice, both brown and white ). All the kids became sick at the exact same time. I haven't been to a chipotle in a long time, this will be my last time, at least to this location! We stood waiting for anyone to come over and take our order, or even greet us for far too long. I even doubled checked the hours on the door to make sure they weren't closed. Multiple employees looked at us and said nothing. There also seemed to me a manager or someone sitting at a table who told an employee to turn the music up and asked where the "server" was, to which he was told she was "washing her hands." After about 10 minutes a girl came out from the back to take out orders. Ordering was a whole other issue. We struggled to understand either of the 2 girls who assisted us. The girl checking us out was the worst of the 2. I had to lean in and ask her multiple times to repeat herself. She was asking questions that didn't make sense even. "Do you want your kids chips?" Of course I do, I am paying for them. "Do you want ice with your drinks?" Obviously I want ice! Both mumbled and spoke so low I couldn't hear them or understand them. To top it off. Our food was cold. My carnitas was basically a blob of fat and the large guacamole I ordered was just a mound of avocado, not even mashed and had no flavor other than avocado. Chips and my daughters "crunchy" shells for her tacos were stale. Place was also a mess with napkins and food all over the floor. We were the only ones in the place upon arrival too. I wanted to ask for a refund but knew it would be a dead end. We ended up leaving without hardly touching our food and went to eat somewhere else. With the cost of food these days, this is so unacceptable! I was petty and didn't even dump our tray because I wanted them to see all the food that was left behind! I normally would have taken it home for leftovers but I couldn't eat that food! This Chipotle will have a tough time getting a loyal, long-term following with a beginning like this. No one expects a smooth running machine when a new place opens up, especially with the labor and supply conditions the way they are in the fast food service sector. I sympathize with restaurateurs trying to navigate their way through these messy times. The least customers should expect however (from a business trying to establish itself) is fresh, enjoyable food- not a meal that leaves you doubting whether you'll ever return. Wilted, soggy lettuce in the salad, over-cooked flour tortillas that were so tough that you could hardly bite through them, and tortilla chips that weren't not only not fresh, but were actually stale beyond belief (made at opening and still being served at 6pm? They sure tasted like it). The only plus was the barbacoa meat that was being served- it was very good, but not good enough to save the day. There are too many other similar options in the same category in this general area (Costa Vida, Cafe Rio, etc.) that make their own fresh tortillas (Chipotle's come out of a bag- seriously), and pride themselves a little more in serving good, fresh food for me to give Chipotle's another go. The line of cars outside is 10 long and the number of people inside is about 9...all waiting. I can't tell you how the food is but waiting this long for food is unacceptable. No one has come to let me know how long it will be. No one has come to check at all. If I could have cancelled my order by now I would have. I feel like if you can't have food out at a decent rate then close the doors, retrain, make some adjustments and then open when you're ready. This is doing nothing for the competition other than boost their sales. Had I gone to a regular sit-down restaurant, I wouldn't have had to wait this long to get my food. One customer said at 6:45 that her food was supposed to be ready at 6!!! She finally left at 6:50...FIFTY MINUTES FOR FOOD?!? Y'all...come on.
