If I could give a 0 star review I would. Chipotle is one of my favorite places to eat, but my recent experience at the St. Joseph location was beyond frustrating and honestly unacceptable. We came in 50 minutes before closing -- not 5 minutes, not right at close -- and they were already out of white rice, steak, and honey chipotle chicken. We were lucky to get the last of the regular chicken, which is honestly ridiculous for a restaurant that still had nearly an hour of service left. To make matters worse, the staff made it very clear they were not happy to see us. The energy was terrible -- they looked absolutely miserable and annoyed just because we walked in before close. Sorry, but if you're open, be ready to serve customers. I get that working late isn't fun, but at the end of the day, you chose this job. It's part of the deal. The service was rushed, cold, and made us feel like we were a burden for simply expecting basic menu items and decent treatment. I don't expect five-star service at a fast casual restaurant, but I do expect prepared food and a minimum level of respect. This visit honestly made me question if I'll return to this location. I have to say that I've been very happy and satisfied with the amount of meat and guacamole I've been served. Is it cheap? It's not the most inexpensive place that I could eat, but it's real food. I'd much rather spend an extra couple of dollars and get real food that fuels me up. I'd like to start by saying that I didn't think customer service could be nonexistent. To say I didn't enjoy the dining experience is only an understatement. I'm having trouble fathoming the experience as a whole. I entered the establishment after a long day in the sun, in hopes of a relaxing dining experience. My hopes were very swiftly shot to hell as the worker at the register decided to do nearly everything besides check people out. A line very quickly formulated out of nowhere due to the abysmal system at chipotle. I will say that the burrito I ordered was made to absolute perfection and I was able to put it down in a little over 3 minutes in attempt to become the new franchise record holder. The worker told me I wasn't allowed to have a large water but refused to provide an explanation as to why I couldn't enjoy a large water to quench my thirst. One of my colleagues entered the line to order chips and queso, but did not return for over five minutes. I am still very lost as to how it took five minutes to make the chips and queso considering they put a total of maybe 13 chips (give or take a couple). I am unsure if they were out of chips, or if they were just delirious (personally it seemed like the workers behind the counter hadn't slept in days, if not, weeks). So, I have never been to a Chipotle where the food has been less than delicious. This Chipotle is no different in that regard. My main complaint is that this Chipotle is especially slow at serving its customers. I have been to others where the line will be out the door but it isn't much of a concern because they are staffed to handle the rush. This Chipotle refuses to be quite so well-staffed. For some reason this is a major headache for me. I am always super-annoyed to see a long line and only 3 people working behind the counter. On-line ordering is great but these chains do a good job of prepping your food well before it is scheduled to be picked up and I hate it when my lettuce has gotten soggy and my meat has cooled off. So if I see a long line, I usually mosey over to Panda. On the bright side, their food is good and their staff are very polite. But because of the amount of irritation I have at how slow they are, I can only give this particular store 3 stars. I wish there was an option to give this location 0 stars. I ordered through my app, which doesn't allow a quesadilla option, so I followed previous instructions from an employee I CALLED AND ASKED. I had placed this order at least 5 times prior and had no issue. However, this time I did not receive the quesadilla, despite having paid for it. So I called and spoke to the manager on duty, who confirmed that she READ the order, but deliberately did not include it because it was "ordered incorrectly." She did not apologize and she did not offer a refund. She rudely pointed out that the other employee must have told us wrong and that we were just out of luck. Went into this crowded fast food restaurant as it is one of the better options at the time. They were out of the corn salsa which is just puzzling. Ordered a chicken burrito. A few hours later I don't feel so well. Oh what do you know I have food poisoning. Didn't have anything else to eat that day so I am sure chipotle gave it to me. Still do not feel great a couple of days later; so we will see if this horrible "restaurant" gave me something worse.
