Went to Chipolte in Redding this evening for the first time in over a year, been staying away due to lack of parking. After tonight's visit I was less then impressed by how filthy the restaurant was. Tables not cleaned inside or on the patio, food on the floor the place appeared not to have been swept or tables wiped for some time. The serving line was not kept clean and many items not available or waiting for it to be prepared. The attitude and appearance of the staff was less than acceptable. I've tried to be super fair with this place, but today just reaffirmed my frustration. Don't get me wrong the food is great, but there is one employee that makes me not want to go there. On several occasions, more than 6, this one person has, in my mind, jipped me on the food. I used to go and get a full chicken bowl, but not anymore. She pours everything from the meat down at half full. I've asked before for more meat(an actual spoon full) and salsa and have been told it's extra money. However, other employees seem to fit the bill. It's like $9 for a bowl so we should get a full bowl. I get the extra for the guacamole, but from now on if I see her I'm leaving. Last note, I have other work associates and friends complain of the same thing not knowing my opinion. So I think she's consistent. read more

The line was very long, but we had a three year old and we were hungry. The line moved as fast as it could. When we were served it was clear that they were working a well-oiled machine: all workers were fast, attentive, and still friendly. The food was great and although it took awhile in line, was well worth the wait. Kudos to the hard working staff. read more

I absolutely loved Chipotle at one time but the location in Redding has recently gone downhill significantly. There seems to be a lot of staff change which I feel has a lot to do with it. Regardless, the food use to be fresh, hot, and excellent...over the past couple of months however, it's been anything but. I even contacted Chipotle via email letting them know about the not so great customer service (lots of employees standing around BS'ing while only one or two worked), some food sanitation issues (one employee working the register wiping her nose before taking my money and bagging my food while another was eating chips in plain sight behind the counter in front of customers...gag), and the less than on spot food (undercooked chunky rice with no lime juice or cilantro, overcooked or undercooked chips, guac that was just gross, barbacoa meat with HUGE chunks of fat, etc.). The response I got was less than amazing and I was pretty unimpressed. It was basically "Oh, sorry about that. Let us make it up to you with two free meals and two free drinks." I declined their offer and told them to just fix it, that Chipotle was my favorite place to eat. Well, guess what? I've seen no improvements over the past couple months. I hope who they've got in there as manager gets the boot. This place is just gross now and I think I'm not the only one who's noticed as the lines are normally out the door but not so much anymore. Food is no different than a typical Chipotle. Service is somewhat lacking. Always a very long line, even during non peak hours. They do not seem to have an efficient setup behind the counter like most Chipotle restaurants. They had to remake my burrito the other day (an employee spilled someone's bowl on my burrito) and they tried to give me half of what had been on my burrito before. I had not asked for anything extra before and the quantities they tried to offer me were truly lacking. Luckily Redding does have Burrito Bandito. read more

Having been privileged to frequent one of the first few Chipotle's ever (Fort Collins, Colorado), our family tried to find every possible excuse to drive to Chico, California, or to stop in Fairfield during trips to the Bay Area - for the purpose of the most excellent burritos we've had (sorry, El Faro, you're still the nostalgic SF favorite, but...). The salsa's are fresh and the variety sure to suit any tolerance of heat with ample flavor even in the milder choices. They make great guacamole. And the cilantro rice they use (especially with the black beans and carnitas) is perfectly suited to absorbing the salsa, guac, and sour cream I prefer. The chips are spritzed with fresh lime juice and get just a dash of kosher salt...worthy of their own review! Down sides? None, but some might be put off by the frequently long line leading up to the prep counter. Don't be shy. Watch for about ninety seconds and you'll see how quickly they move their customers through, invariably with smiles and a good word, and the patience necessary to help you through the first few visits (ordering is a multi-step process, but you DO get what you order, and I can't imagine a combination that wouldn't turn out delicious). read more

The mexican version of subway. Cheap, fresh-ish, and tastes good when you have limited time to eat.

I wish corporate could pull their heads out of their rear ends regarding their Carnitas! You can't tell me Chipotle uses a vendor to find out the animal is treated in an inhuman manner so they remove the meat from the menu. read more

Very disappointing. Ordered a chicken burrito you get half a cup of rice a half a cup of beans and add 2 tablespoons of chicken.

I was there today with my 1 year old & they were so helpful brought brought my food to a table & helped me with a child's hi -hair. Parking is always packed, I hate that small parking lot. I walked into Chipotle & it's ALWAYS busy with long lines & today it was empty & I thought "we're is everyone?" I get home turn on the news & they say they've found the Ecoli illness at a lot of Chipotle locations, not good at all & hope chicken was fully cooked. not the most authentic mexican food but it is really tasty. it is one of the few chain restaurants that I do like. It seems that there are more places coming into Redding that are really trying to make a difference food wise. Chipotle being one, Rivers Restaurant (even though their service needs some work), Moonstone Bistro, and Sweetspot. i love fat burritos. i mean FAT burritos! obviously Burrito Bandito would be my first choice.. but its to far from my house so i go here! i get either the chicken or the vegetarian burritos every time and is always fresh and delicious. the price is aight depending on what you get. the main thing i like though is how they say their meat is raised and handled. if you ever look at their menu read what they have to say about all their ingredients, its a real turn on. read more

Being gluten and dairy intolerant, Chipotle is absolutely one of my favorite places to eat out. The food is fresh and I can even add some meat to my meal. (You might think that is silly to add, but most meat in Mexican restaurants is marinaded in a sauce that I can't have.) But what I love most is that I have no worries of cross contamination. As soon as I tell them I have a gluten allergy, everyone that will be handling my food immediately wash their hand and put on new gloves. They also wipe the entire counter down and the food is prepared right in front of me! For anyone that struggles with food allergies like I do, this is a real relief! read more

I love chipotles food! But the customer service is terrible!!! None of the employees have customer service skills at all, they all seem annoyed to be helping you and they don't even say anything besides "you know the guac is extra?". Moving here a few months ago from Arizona, I was happy to see a Chipolte (despite the recent negative publicity regarding the e coli outbreak),among the limited dining choices. First, let me emphazise that we love it here so that having fewer dining options is worth the price for living in a beautiful part of the state. On our first visit, we ordered a favorite - chicken burrito bowls. Our experience was typical of other Chipolte locations we have frequented, quickly prepared, good food, efficient, polite employees and clean restaurant, so it warranted a second visit. We again ordered the chicken bowls and proceeded to find a table. The floor of the nearest empty table had food that had been spilled and left for some time. We nervously walked over to another, sat down and while eating our lunch, looked around - this location lacks management - food, straws, plastic spoon, napkins littered the floor. Customers were coming in and wiping down the tables in order to have a clean table to eat. Our chicken was charred despite the server saying it was "freshly made". I then proceeded to walk to the restrooms, looked into the kitchen and almost became ill. The kitchen floor looked like there had been a food fight. With this disgusting display of lack of food hygiene, the much publicized e coli outbreak becomes indefensible. The restroom was dirty with the trash basket just at the brink of overflowing. This was also the case of the trash receptacle in the dining room. Yes, it was during the lunch rush, but nonetheless, this situation is grosslly unacceptable. The employees should be embarassed to have such little pride and work ethic. Needless to say, we won't be going back. read more
