I moved to Walla Walla about 4 years ago and have only been going to El Sombrero off of 2nd Ave. and spots like Taqueria Yungapeti and Mi Pueblito. The service was super friendly and the ambiance just felt nice. My only harp--and it's the only reason I knocked off one star--was that it took forever for the waiter to bring our check and I found myself asking for my water cup to be refilled a couple of times. But overall, this restaurant is a hidden gem and I highly recommend you give this resto a try.

Usually when you order Mexican food the food is fresh and warm. Not the case with my order today…read morefrom this place. Ordered a side of rice and beans and to my surprise the rice was dry and burnt and tasted like it was made yesterday. The beans were the absolute worst food ive ever tasted. They still had the shape of the can they came out of and the nasty juice at the bottom was just too much. I called and they confirmed. These refried beans aren't refried fresh from beans they make in house. They are canned beans that are simply warmed up and thrown in your bag. I'm sure I'm not the only person to notice the difference in quality compared to the outrages $8 charge for this side of rice and beans. $8 for old dry Burt rice and nasty disgusting canned beans. Plenty of other Mexican restaurants to give my money too
