I was driving to lunch today and bang something hit my windshield. I look over and I see a nice star shaped crack. My Jeep is only a few months old so I really don't want to have windshield issues this soon. I searched Google and it took me to several places so I checked those places out on Yelp. I was driving along the interstate at 80mph when a rock decided it would be a good day to hit my windshield. A loud crack echoed through my car and three separate dime to quarter-sized scratches were left on my windshield. Needless to say, many expletives were uttered. I quickly contacted nine different windshield repair services online using this exact message: "Had a rock hit my windshield on the highway. It left three dime - quarter sized scratches on my windshield, all slightly spread apart from each other (I honestly don't understand how this happened). How much would it cost to repair?" Within five minutes, I was quoted $40 for the first chip and $10 for each additional chip from Chip Master Windshield Repair. Four others also responded quickly, with two asking for more details (5 Star Auto Glass and Apex Auto Glass), one mentioning it will cost $49 + $20 for each additional chip (Auto Glass Express), and another mentioning I needed a full windshield replacement (All American Auto Glass). The remainder five companies did not respond promptly. Based on the responses I did receive, it was quite obvious I chose Chip Master Windshield Repair because it was the cheapest ($40 initial + $10 each additional). So, I called them immediately at around 5pm and they actually set up an appointment within the hour. They arrived around 6pm and actually put up with rush hour traffic. I was definitely impressed here. They mentioned that they will personally help call your insurance if you wanted it, which is a huge plus. I mean what other company does this? When they arrived, I actually received a quote less than what was mentioned! They actually told me the total cost would be $20 because the scratch wasn't too deep. Now, they could have totally not mentioned this and I still would have paid the $60 I was originally supposed to, so this just highlights their integrity. I called another windshield chip repairer which was unwilling to try repairing the circular crack on my windshield about as big as a half-dollar coin. I was actually referred to Chip Master. They arrived on time and Tom's dad fixed the crack within 20 minutes while Tom led an interesting discussion about the crack repair business, FAQs, etc. The charge was $60 and well worth it, IMO. read more

My husband had a rock chip his window and we needed to get it repaired, I called a few places, one was $85, INSANE! I requested a quote through YELP for Chip Master and they responded VERY quickly! I gave them a call and they said they could come out TODAY! AWESOME! Better to get it taken care of today before it gets worse! So we had then come out, the offered to call our insurance for us, but we just opted to pay them the $40 on our own, easy enough!
