Then, they told me to find another reliable mechanic, which I did who told me on the spot what was wrong with my car and what they were going to do to fix it. This reliable mechanic charged me for everything including transmission fluid oil $120 and was very prompt. On the other hand, this mechanic was going to charge me 150 dollars to find what was wrong with my car! Wow, i believe the reviews here do not add up. Located in the rough neighborhood of New Brunswick, clean waiting space and customer service is fair... well I'm being nice. The receptionist was unprofessional and said we did not charge you for the codes or test drive. I was completely confused- wait your company charges for that? To input a reader into the car to tell you the codes (where you can go practically anywhere and they will tell you for free) or test drive? What? She lost me. Rutgers students, I understand its in a convienent location, but please do not let mechanics rip you off... do a little research. To continue, the mechanic stated, "Cars are more complex than humans because they have more models, issues, etc." As an educated woman in STEM, this is where i had to draw the line. What I didn't expect was to pay over $100 for an oil change. They didn't ask me what type of oil I wanted and most places do. I didn't think much of it. I don't drive a foreign car so the fact that I had to pay for some special type of oil I didn't want and wasn't aware was highly unusual to me. There wasn't anyone else there and maybe their prices are keeping business away. They advertise auto & truck sales so maybe that's where the pricing comes in? He replaced a couple sensors regarding the turbo and finally was able to accelerate and not get a check engine light.
