Wow! Love this place. Friday night at 5:15, we had a reservation but didn't need one at that time. By the time we left it was filling up. This was also happy hour and they have fantastic food choices on the happy hour menu, including their AMAZING chicken wings! Biggest wings Ive ever seen and delicious. We also loved the fried tofu and kimchi fries. Entrees were Bibimpap and Japchae with shaved ribeye. Both were good but the Japchae my favorite. The only challenge is finding parking, but it's worth the challenge. We will be back for happy hour! Highly recommend.

I've now been lucky enough to visit Chingu for happy hour, and for lunch and can solidly say that this place is five star material. For happy hour you'll be treated to some really inventive and delicious cocktails, and paired with savory korean bites, there really isn't anything to complain about - except for maybe not coming here sooner. Chingu recently started offering lunch and while it's a more limited menu, I was really delighted by the noodle stir fry I had. It was a cold day and this dish was piping hot, and chock full of great flavor. It was also a healthy enough size that I was able to take about half of it home and get a second lunch out of it. I still haven't been able to try the fried chicken here which looks insane, so dinner here will be my next endeavor. This place should be on everyone's radar in KC. It's cozy, has great food, and I've had nice service each time as well.

Delicious food! Excellent vibes! Our waitress was awesome and super helpful. Highly recommend the bossam if you come during the weekend as it's one of their specials. It's easy to order a couple of dishes and split it amongst a group. My friends and I ordered the corn cheese and gochujang ribs in addition to the bossam and that was easily shared amongst the three of us. If you like to drink, they have a good menu for soju and others. As someone who eats Korean food at home, this is the real deal! The meat was juicy and well marinated for the ribs, the pork belly was *chef's kiss*. I could eat the cheese corn all day.

안녕하세요!! I'm out of Elite Squad Yelper captivity, and celebrating with my Korean brothers and sisters with some CHINGU! I spent a year in Korea and love Korean cuisine. I've had quite a bit! Spent a lot of time eating Korean food in Gangnam, Hongdea, of course Itaewon and all over Seoul. I stuck to the Beef Short Ribs and these things were full..I mean FULL OF FLAVOR! The flavor profile is eccentric and bold, the Char on the ribs bring out the deep profiles of soy, garlic, and ginger. TBH me and my family make out teriyaki sauce and it has similarities but (we are Hawaiian). If you want bold, unique, and indescribably different tastes from a normal Korean restaurant I think you'll find that here. While the same in many aspects I feel like the unique and what seems to be artistically thought out recipes you can distinctively tell CHINGU beats their own drum!! I'd say this place is appropriate for a fun, more than casual, but satisfyingly enjoyable Korean restaurant. (Alittle on the fine dining compared to other Korean restaurants). Downside: The kimchi- While surprisingly flavorful it stands out of not my favorite or near best tasting Kimchi I've had....Im a huge advocate for good kimchi but this one I would not refer to someone and expect them to like it. Like I said rather flavorful, I think it misses the mark. (It is vegan) I don't believe that's the kicker because I've had vegan Kimchi. Overal I think it's a cool spot!

I was super excited to try this place since I've heard that it is very busy usually but I came in during their lunch hour today and it was pretty empty - I was quite surprised. Now when I try a new spot, I make it a mission to order at least three things off the menu so that I give this place a fair rating. I did stop by with a friend so it also helped with all the food we were getting. Our serve was pretty nice and when I was ordering he kinda made a joke and said "wow that's a lot of food for just two people" side eye lol.. but that's okay! I care more about the food. So let's jump in. The bibimbap was brought out first and was served with a side of tofu sauce. I'm a big carnivore person but recently have been trying to venture out and try meatless things so it made sense to me to order this. The base was a heaping amount of white rice, has veggies, tofu and the sunny side up egg. The sauce itself tasted like a very sweet ketchup. With all the veggies, I felt like I needed even more sauce. If you are a big fan of bibimbap, this is pretty good. But, to be honest, I probably won't come here to order this again. I'm glad I tried it but it didn't really stick out to me. I ordered the Stir Fry bowl with noodles, spicy pork and their Gochujang sauce - and this might been the tastiest thing I had here. I'm not a big spicy person and the sauce was not overly spicy - it just had enough of a kick to amplify the flavor. I'm firm with believing that noodles were the best pairing for the dish instead of the rice. The Korean Fried Chicken was served last and the wings were unbelievably crispy and packed with flavor. I got a side of soy ginger sauce but the sauce really wasn't needed. The crispy chicken skin was all the flavor you really needed. *Order the Stir fry bowl with NOODLES - and venture out and get the gochujang sauce (it pairs perfectly) *if you can, stop by during the lunch hour - you won't have to worry about finding parking and your receive fast, prompt service Will definitely be coming back to try other things off the menu :-)

    Fried cauliflower and tteokbokki.

I've only tried their lunch menu and have heard better things about their dinner menu, so this review is based on just lunch. Fried cauliflower and rice cakes (tteokbokki): amazing. 10/10 would get again. Would totally get again and has enough of a portion size to be a meal (if you're not sharing). I prefer fried tteokbokki to regularly prepared tteokbokki. Popcorn chicken hoagie: 4/10 enjoyment. I dislike wasting food but couldn't bring myself to finish this. The cucumbers would've been better pickled. The popcorn chicken breading and chicken itself were kind of sad and not flavorful. I couldn't just pick up this sandwich without making a mess because the popcorn chicken pieces just kept falling out. Nothing about this hoagie felt like it really went together flavor-wise which was a surprise because it all sounded like it'd be great together. Fries were good, though. Galbi cheesesteak: 6/10 better than the hoagie. If you like cheesesteaks, you'll like this one. Personally, I thought it still had strange off flavor I couldn't place.

I think I was one of the first customer on the day I visited. The food was good and larger portion than I expected. The waiters assumed I came in for a takeout order but service got better. The restaurant was quiet and welcoming.

This is a great spot in Westport if you are looking for some great Korean food! The service was great the entire time we had our 12 coworkers eating lunch. All the food was fantastic and came out timely. Definitely don't sleep on this place and check it out!

Amazing spot in Westport. I had the wings BIMBIMBOP with bulgogi. I can't express how good this meal was. Great happy hour pricing. A must go!!!!

There are so many incredible places to eat in Westport, it has taken us a while to get to Chingu but we are so glad we went! The place is very bright, clean, and has a fun, friendly vibe. We made it in at the end of happy hour so tried several items. It was such a diverse collection of flavors and textures--we had a lot of fun sampling some of their most popular items. We wouldn't recommend the trumpet mushrooms, but the fried chicken wings are to die for! We will definitely go back.

The staff is so friendly and the place is nice, no parking so if you find a parking on the side take it. The food was great we got Japche, the galbi bbq, chicken and the corn cheese. Must try

Dduk Galbi Sliders and table sides

Chingu is a wonderful, quaint little spot in Westport with a tiny dining room and big menu! It's a flavor bomb and well worth a visit, especially if you like Korean food and are feeling a little adventurous. They have a nice happy hour, great drink menu, and shareable-size portions so you can try multiple things. We ordered the Dduk Galbi Sliders w/ Fries (delicious soy marinated burgers with a gochujang ketchup) and Gamja Korokke (absolutely delicious fried potato and cheese balls) from the happy hour menu, and the Pajeon (amazing savory herb pancakes with sauce) and Bibimbap (rice, veggie, and egg bowl) from the regular menu. The table also received white rice, Kimchi, pickled onions, and black beans with our choices. Everything was full of flavor, the staff was friendly and personable, and the experience was definitely a five star one!

This rooftop gem on the Country Club Plaza has such a youthful, energetic vibe--perfect for a milestone like this. Our server was excellent--super friendly, attentive, and even recommended a beautiful and delicious cocktail that paired perfectly with our dinner. We went all out and sampled a ton from the menu: fried lobster tail, pepperoni pizza, spicy tuna roll, salmon roll, wagyu Nagiri, oysters with caviar, and wagyu sliders. Most of the food was absolutely delicious! The sushi rolls stood out with their unique flavors and beautiful presentation--what a nice surprise. Our absolute favorites were the wagyu nagiri (melt-in-your-mouth incredible) and the oysters with caviar. The wagyu sliders were also a hit. That said, the fried lobster tail was a bit of a letdown--chewy and lacking the flavor punch that everything else delivered. The atmosphere is lively and fun, but heads up: it gets very loud. We were at one of those tiny cocktail tables and basically had to yell across it to chat, which made conversation a challenge during dinner. On the bright side, we scored an amazing seat with a stunning view of the Plaza. Watching the sunset while eating was magical and made the whole experience feel extra special for a birthday. Overall, great food (with just a couple minor misses), awesome vibes, top-notch service, and that unbeatable rooftop setting. I'd definitely recommend Prime Social and we'd go back in a heartbeat--maybe just bring earplugs if you're planning to talk a lot! 4 stars.

It's located in a cool area in the middle of the plaza right underneath Chiefs Fit gym. As soon as you enter you get a feel for the great ambiance and fun variety of music. We came in during a cold snowy day and took full advantage of the FREE coat check at the front desk. On the first floor there's a mini golf course as well as a full bar and seating area. Once you go downstairs though, you'll see just how massive the place is. Theres TONS of seating and cool little nooks to hangout in which make it great for a date night or corporate events. Once you get into the mini golf there's some great courses to check out. Each one has a different theme and they make it super simple to track your points. Simply enter the names of all your players on the touch screen at the first hole, then enter the number of strokes afterwards. After that it will follow you throughout the course until you're finished and tell you who wins at the end! There's also a place to sit your drinks at the start of each hole with a menu of course specific cocktails that I highly recommend trying. Every part of this place is perfect to take pictures and have a great time. But in my opinion, the true highlight of the Puttery is the food. I had the pleasure of meeting the head chef while here and he truly puts his heart into the menu. Our server Mariah was also super helpful giving us drink and food recommendations throughout our time here. Everything sounded amazing but I had to go with the Cajun Chicken Philly since I'm a sucker for a Philly sandwich. It was one of my favorite sandwiches I've ever had. From the soft delicious bread to the unbelievably juicy and tender chicken, this was such a great dish. The combination of ingredients and the plating itself made it clear that nothing comes as an afterthought here. I also tried the loaded fries which were a great recent addition to the menu. Last, we finished it off by trying the Tiramisu, Raspberry Donut Cheesecake, and the Bourbon Bread Pudding. Each one was really amazing but my favorite was the Raspberry Donut Cheesecake, and I'm not even a huge cheesecake fan! I definitely plan to come back here just for the food because it was so delicious!! And on top of that, they recently started a meal prep service which I plan to take full advantage of! Overall you can tell that every detail is thought through at the Puttery. It truly feels like a luxury experience with an element of fun to round it out. Gram & Dun was one of those restaurants. We show up for our reservations and get seated for a wonderful meal. Ambiance was surreal. The vibes inside were that of a modern Italian kitchen inside of a Southern parlor room. I know that doesn't make any sense, but it's true. And the restaurant looks out upon the quaint downtown street of this Kansas City suburb through giant, floor-to-ceiling windows. So beautiful. Service was great, as well. The server knew the menu very well, and was able to answer a few questions, guiding me to the correct thing to order. The apps, entrees, and dessert were all paced well, too. Service lead to a lovely evening. As for the food, we started off with the Not-So-Standard Potato Chips (parmesan, sauce flight: gold sauce, comeback sauce, black pepper bourbon ketchup). These were very good. House cooked chips that were just thick enough, had a good bite to them, and were absolutely covered in luscious parm. The sauce flight was fun, too. Keep the leftovers around to pair with the rest of your meal. Onto the Low Country Pimento Cheese (fried saltine crackers, candied black pepper bacon, bread & butter pickles, tomato jalapeño jam). Hillbilly charcuterie. Lots of fun to mix and match some bacon, some pickles, a little jam, all on those very unctuous Saltines. Very fun app. My main was the Brick Pressed Chicken (lemon & thyme brine, prosciutto & sausage bread pudding, caramelized cabbage, lemon & shallot cream sauce). Chicken was cooked to a charred perfection, that savory bread pudding was just an amazing as it sounds, and the cream sauce really brightened everything up. I don't usually get chicken, but I'm telling you, this was the chicken to get. I also got to try one of the nightly specials, some sort of cheesy parmesan pasta covered in black truffle shavings. It was as extravagant as it sounds. Fresh-made pastas, giant chunks of lobster, cheesy ooey gooey, and those truffle shavings add just a touch of class and umami that really made this a good pasta dish. We finished up with the Gram & Dun Bar (chocolate peanut and pretzel nougat, marshmallow cream cheese, chocolate mousse, peanut butter ice cream). Again, another thing I don't usually go for, the dessert bar, but this place did it in a way I haven't seen before. Each layer added to the dessert. Nougat, cream cheese, and mousse, all tied together with that cold, creamy peanut butter ice cream. So so good. Overall, as good as this place was on paper, Gram & Dun really blew me away. Really elegant food, found right in the heart of the country. It was a pleasant surprise, and I would come back in a heartbeat.

I'm surprised I've never reviewed this Kansas City staple of a restaurant on the Country Club…read morePlaza, I've been coming here for years. I've had some amazing meals here, with exceptional service at the bar for happy hour as well as in the dining room for dinner. However, brunch service can be a little off sometimes (especially on Holidays like Easter or Mother's Day). My last time I was here was for their restaurant week 2026 menu and it was a fantastic experience, I had never dined here for restaurant week and I'll definitely return next year. I came for the tail end of lunch and ordered the fried oysters and the burger with fries. The oysters stole the show (I believe these are also on their happy hour menu but don't quote me on that). They were crispy coated in a cornmeal batter and tasted a touch briny without being too fishy. I loved the southern style take on this dish, it was served over a tremendous remoulade sauce that has the perfect amount of tanginess and creaminess. Now onto the smash burger, this is on the happy hour menu for $10 and all I can say is just order it! It's rich and meaty, with ooey gooey cheese. It has a classic "burger sauce" that I ask for an extra side of to dip my fries in because it's that good! The sweet onion and house made pickles help cut through all that beef and bacon, oh yeah did I mention there's salty chopped bacon on this burger too?! It has everything you want from a smash burger at a sit down restaurant. As far as brunch goes, the dishes are nice, there's nothing wrong with a classic brunch menu but I've had hit or miss service. The toast trio is my go-to I've had it a few times, on the menu they have named them "planks" but let's face it they're really just fancy topped toasts. I like to do all three so that I get a mix of savory and sweet. The two Benedicts on the menu are also very good, they're unique because one has pork belly and another has a crab cake. They do some drinks really well and some of the ones I've sampled on their rotating seasonal menus just don't do it for me. But, on their classic menu they have a drink called Fly Me To The Moon which if you like bourbon and aperol you should try, I like to switch it up from an old fashioned sometimes and since this has orange bitters and lemon it's familiar while still being a nice change. Also, a lot of mocktails are offered if you still want something refreshing without alcohol. Happy Hour is king here so if you're ever shopping on the plaza, need a place to meet with the girls, or on a date I would highly recommend Gram & Dun but, be aware it's only offered inside, in the bar area and not on the patio. It's also only 2 hours (3-5) Monday through Friday so plan ahead so you can make the most out of it!

It has a very aesthetic, elevated feel. I ordered the burnt end flatbread, which had great flavor, but it could've used a little more time in the oven for a better crisp. The crème brûlée was a bit disappointing, as it didn't have that classic crunchy top that you expect. But I had yet to try the Parker in the hotel until my most recent visit and let me tell you, i've been sleeping on this place! We stopped in here for a quick bit before a concert and it was such a great idea! The service was wonderful! The bartenders were super friendly and fun to chat with. We just ordered two apps and a couple drinks but they all were amazing! I would love to come here again and get an entree as well as try other things. The restaurant is located pretty high up in the hotel so you also have a fun view. The vibes are just right giving a slightly elevated atmosphere. It wasn't busy at all so their was no wait which was nice since we were on a schedule! Overall, this is a great spot if you are staying at the Fontaine or in the area.
