Booked my appointment online and when I arrived at 7pm there was no one at the host stand to greet me. When a woman finally came out of the back room she immediately said they were busy. I explained to her that I had a 7pm appointment, to which she yelled something at someone who was not visible in the back room and closed the door. At 7:15 I got up to see if I would be helped further and the same woman appeared from the back room and said "we're busy, sorry." I asked why she accepted the reservation if they were busy and her blank stare suggested her English was not advanced enough for the question. The lady gave me and my husband a massage we paid 143.00 and I handed her a 20 dollar bill I asked for 10 back. She said 10 each i said no she got mad and yelled at me and I took the 20 dollars back. Alysa was a great therapist and she knows her stuff. I am a physical therapist and I can confidently say she knows her anatomy .Really does a great job with deep tissue and getting the knots worked on. If you are someone who wants all fancy decor and stuff this is not the place. It's a simple place with good hands! I loved her techniques, she used some stretching and hot stone as well. So I wasn't expecting an incredible massage when I booked a last minute full body massage here after a disappointing cancellation of my previously booked massage at Rush Creek Lodge Spa (a "clerical error" that almost ruined my birthday) However I've been to these type of Chinese massage places before sometimes just for foot reflexology, rarely for body massages but on the few occasions I have received body massages I had great massages, so I decided to give this place a chance to help relax my sore muscles from hiking. Not only are the massage rooms not private but the curtain was not even drawn during my massage had there been other people I'm hoping my masseuse would have closed it, but the only cover they provide which is just a small towel which doesn't provide much privacy either. So if you're used to the sheet covers from most spas don't expect that here, and not ok exposing yourself to a stranger wear underwear! Not only did I feel very exposed without a sheet, but she "massaged" very close to my erogenous zones and made me more tense I could not fully relax. And to top it off the technique/style of the massage was very poor. I needed more deep pressure, but felt like I was just being rubbed in almost the same 3 motions repetitively the whole time and mostly dry, as she used little to no oil or lotion. All in all though I was glad she took me on short notice and quite late after my other massage was cancelled I would have been better off without a massage, and just take a nice hot epsom salt bath instead. Also I don't like the practice of these places of paying with the tip before the massage (cash only so don't forget! or you get a $4 ATM charge to get cash at the store next door) because my 1 hour massage was $60, but I paid $80 with the tip I should've waited til after the massage to tip, but all I had was 20 bills after pulling from the ATM next door, so I felt obligated to give her the whole $20 especially for taking me last minute but wouldn't go there again in the future. read more

I have lived in Oakhurst for many years and have gone to many different massage therapists, some good, some not so good. I went in recently for a foot massage and Alyssa was amazing. This is true reflexology and it takes knowledge and years of practice to know how to do it correctly. She knew exactly where my problem areas were and used perfect pressure. She also made suggestions about diet, water intake, etc based on areas that were tender. I have gone back twice now, the second time had a full body massage, and I have to say it was one of the best I have ever had. For the person who gave a one star rating - No, this is not a "spa" setting. This is not some over-priced American spa with pretty pictures on the wall and a young massage therapist just out of massage school. This is real, Chinese massage, done by licensed massage therapists, and based on techniques that work and have been developed over centuries. Personally, I like the "odd/trashy decor" (they are Chinese so they have a Buddha and other Chinese items in the store) and I find the environment relaxing and comforting. Give them a try. This is worst massage I've ever got! Waist of money and time. I tried calling back to get managers or owners name and number to complain and was told he's out of the country. So I proceed to tell the massage lady that was the worst massage I've ever had. And she said I gave 1 hour 20 min on back 15 min on neck 15 on head and 10 min on feet . First time visiting this establishment and I will say if I'm ever in town. This will be a place I come to for sure. It's been twice in my entire life that I've fallen asleep while getting a massage and well that happened when the nice lady put her warm/hot hands on me. Staying in Oakhurst the morning after a Half Dome climb I noticed this unprepossessing storefront, its window decorated with large posters of human anatomy and explanations in Chinese about the various areas depicted. I am 71 and never experienced a foot massage, and this seemed an appropriate moment. Inside, the studio is modest and clean, with a slight smell of incense, and the sound of traditional Chinese music. The massage was intensely relieving, delivered with great care and focus. The final part of the massage included a rub with a fragrant oil that had the odd quality of causing the feet to feel both cooled and warmed simultaneously. I bought a bottle of it. The masseuse (sorry I did not get her name, I think she and her husband own the studio) also provided detailed advice about how to take better care of my feet at home. Next time in Yosemite this will be one of the stops! read more

They must have deleted all the bad reviews because I REFUSE to believe this place has all 4/5 stars! We had a terrible experience here. Our first warnings should have been the smell of B.O and the odd/trashy decor, but we ignored those warnings. I did the 1 hr foot massage and my brother did the 1 hr body massage. Everything about it sucked. The guys hands were dirty as he fondled with dirty money in between dealing with customers and massaging my face and running his fingers through my hair. My brother mentioned his lady kept getting up to greet customers and handle money transactions IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS MASSAGE. Then when it was our turn to pay, she said we had to go to the liquor store to get cash because "their machine was broken". The ATM machine took her tip. When we paid and did not include a tip, she asked where her tip was! Ha! We felt so dirty after our massage that we rushed home and took showers. Never going back again! read more

This is a legitimate therapeutic massage establishment and we both received top notch massages (one of them to deal with a very painful shoulder and neck condition). They also happen to charge a fraction of the spas at Tenaya lodge or Chateau Sureau since you are not paying for the deluxe ambience of those places but still get a great massage. Great little family owned massage place! It's a cute little place on the main road. I got the 30 minute foot massage, in which they use reflexology techniques. I don't remember my masseuse's name, but she was friendly and very thorough. Pete did an AMAZING job, he knew the right pressure points, how to work his hands so it would not hurt, he massaged at the right pace, just excellent! Full disclosure though, he has strong firm hands and I like a firm massage but be sure to speak up if it's too much. I went on an unexpected hike in Yosemite and had carried a purse, causing my opposite shoulder to cramp by the next morning and sending radiating pain down my arm and neck. Not a great way to spend your vacation! After searching around and not finding availability for a short turnaround massage, my husband and I stopped by Chinese Massage. This massage was excellent. My shoulder is now fine and I don't have pain any longer. I would definitely return here and highly recommend them. read more
