I had been dealing with a sore neck and muscle spasms for a couple of days and the over the counter medicine wasn't helping. Turned to Yelp to find the best acupuncturist near me. I called to make an appointment and to my surprise, they could squeeze me in on the same day. Love and appreciate the free parking in front of this establishment! After a short assessment, she walked me upstairs to their treatment area. The massage table was ready and I was asked to lay face down. After she carefully placed the accupuncture needles, I fell asleep for a good 50 minutes or so. Miraculously I woke up to zero pain and about 90% mobility. Almost night and day in difference from when I walked in. So grateful for this pain relief, thank you Kamaaina Accupuncture!

The acupuncture itself worked for me, but not for my other half. I believe that it is truly dependent on anyone. My neck pain was brutal and almost felt like nerve pain. During the session it wasn't painful, it was a small pinch but nothing anyone can't handle. After we were finished, my neck was so relieved. It was truly like night and day. Regardless of the acupuncture not being for my partner, she said she would go back for just the cupping and not the needles. So I'm sure next time we are in need of either, this will be the place we go back to! The last thing I will say is that making the payment a sliding scale is so wonderful because everyone can experience this depending on their income! Which makes it inclusive which I really like! It says a lot about her as a healer and person. Try it out! Find out for yourself!

I had a uterus and cervical biopsy today and Mei-Lin was able to calm my anxiety after the procedure and ease my cramps. She listens to all your concerns and provides acupuncture to help relieve the pain. Me (being my impatient self) wanted to explore other possibilities. I'm still young and relatively healthy, so I was looking for a naturopathic option. She did an extensive consultation and walked me through the plan before we started acupuncture. She asked about things like my diet, lifestyle, and gave me great advice on what I should/shouldn't do. The next appointment was scheduled for acupuncture. I'm not sure if it was the timing or the stars just aligned. I immediately got pregnant after the first session! A pregnancy test confirmed it a month later on Father's Day. I saw her religiously during the first trimester and sparingly throughout my pregnancy. Based off my pulse, she was able to identify the baby's gender and confirmed we're having a boy! Now, a year later, we have a healthy and happy baby boy! I still see her once a month post partum to help my body heal. Thank you Dr. Mei-Lin! PS She also helped fix my reoccurring knee and ankle pains Thanks for reading my reviews! Let me know what I should try next!

I've finally found my favorite cup of tea. Acupuncture opens up the channels. Gua Sha helps with…read morecirculation. Cupping releases toxins. Pulling upward direction. The least pain and most effective of all treatments. I've had chiropractic care and shiatsu from high school to adulthood, physical therapy, lomi lomi, Western and Nordic massage therapy during adulthood, which in my experience, offered maximum temporary relief up to one month. Massager at home only provides temporary daily relief. I've already noticed a huge difference in my results. My continuous headaches on my forehead, tempo, and cervical neck pain completely went away after the first session. More number twos throughout day and evening. By far the most I've pooped on the toilet in a given day. Be honest and transparent with Dr. Yang if a health concern is not listed on intake form. I wrote down all my current medications on one page, my allergies and medical conditions on a second page in advance. She read everything during initial consultation, inquired where I'm experiencing the most pain, pain level, stress level, how's my sleeping, and more. She highly recommends twice a week treatment in acupuncture, gua sha and cupping, to relieve pain in cervical, mid and lower spine for now, then eventually taper off to less frequency, drink lots of water, and sleep with a lower neck pillow. I love how Dr. Yang addresses the root of concerns and issues with professional bedside manners plus warnings. Another staff, a guy also helps her with cupping. She also placed a yellow bell in my left hand and informed me to ring the bell if I'm feeling pain at anytime. I've seen younger people to elderly entering and exiting for acupuncture and cupping. Complimentary water station and restroom for clientele. Dietary and herbal supplements are available for purchase. Free parking in Pearl Kai Shopping Center. A few hours later, my Hawaiian, Chinese mom commented in person, "Wow! Look sore." I said, "Not sore." She asked to describe the feeling. Tiny sterile small needles inserted on the surface of the skin, stays in for a while, calming, relaxing. I fell asleep. Needles are removed. Clean the skin. Prepare one cup at a time with heat. Initial one to two minutes feels tighter. Feeling of cupping reminds me of a warm, moist towel over the upper back. Relaxed my body and fell asleep. Infinite thank you to Dr. Yang and the entire staff for phenomenal service. Looking forward to more traditional Chinese medicine and restorative self-care. Highly recommend.

She is helping my body heal like it's never done before. I have sciatica and she could tell right away. I've never gotten acupuncture or gua sha on my hips so there's always a first for everything! I will tell you the moment after my treatment, I was able to lift my left leg very easily as before I can tell it was very tight. Jay and Micah are also very nice as well. Very pleasant people at this office. If you're looking to heal your body in a more holistic way, I would definitely recommend you come to see Dr. Annie Yang. You will definitely feel better every time you leave the clinic. Also as they say no pain no gain. Gua sha can be painful if you're not used to it and also cannot handle the pressure but I will tell you that after a few days your body will feel so much better!

After the course of treatment, I now only get them maybe once a month or two! A HUGE improvement if you ask me. One particular treatment where I had an active migraine, I could literally feel the pain leave my head as she moved the needles down to transition their flow (prickly sensation) to my feet- it was WILD. Not only did she help reduce my head pain and frequency significantly, but she always presented a very warm and welcoming environment. I'm not entirely a fan of needles, but she eased me into it, and ensured I was comfortable thru out the process (the heated bed helps). She always asked how each needle felt, if it needed more or less pressure, and offered to check in on me halfway thru the treatment. She also did some cupping, which was new to me, and help ease the tension coming down my neck and shoulders. Front desk staff are nice too, they remember you after a few treatments. Definitely recommend Phi Lan for any migraine treatment! She's the best!

Oh Edie. Edie is like my fairy godmother. I heard about Edie from a friend who was also placed on…read morethe waitlist but didn't get a chance to work with her. She told me that Edie was well known in the Hawaii fertility world to help many difficult cases get pregnant. My husband and I were trying to get pregnant over the last 7 years and have gone through one failed round of IVF and numerous rounds of IUI with no success, on top of a natural pregnancy in December 2022 that ended in a miscarriage. I've been diagnosed with Endometriosis and Adenomyosis and have even considered using an egg donor if all else failed with my eggs. I've also tried the Mediterranean diet prior to our IVF and was still not successful. I was 39 years old and figured age was also not on my side. We were planning on doing one last round of IVF in the beginning of 2024 and figured I should at least try acupuncture as a last ditch effort to perhaps help my body prep for IVF. I called the office and was placed on the waitlist. I believe it took a few months before I was called to be offered a consultation. Edie not only focuses on your main fertility issue but works on your whole body and your gut to help you get healthy and conceive as naturally as possible. After my consultation, I was placed on the candida diet to help lessen the inflammation in my gut. Let me tell you, that diet was one of the hardest things I've ever done. You will religiously shop at Whole Foods & check Costco for Organic protein options. I was also going to see Edie twice a week for acupuncture as well as taking my Chinese herbs that taste like dirt LOL. I made it a routine and my coworkers were even aware of my diet and routine lol. Slowly I lost some bad weight, gained energy, and was overall healthier and it became a lifestyle. I wish I could say I was still as good on my diet now, but I am honestly way more conscious of what I put in my body as opposed to before. To have positive results, you will have to work hard, but it definitely is worth it. The office staff is really friendly, parking is validated, and they have Saturday appointments which are very helpful if you work weekdays. Edie also works with Dr. Dominguez who is an excellent Fertility doctor. Together they are like the dynamic duo who will holistically help you achieve your fertility goals. To be honest, I was a little skeptical at first because I'm terrified of needles and thought how could all of this possibly work? Week after week, Edie worked up to the bigger needles for me and instead of feeling tense, I found my acupuncture sessions relaxing. Yes, the sessions and herbs can get pretty pricey, but I always remind myself that the price tag was worth not having to go through IVF again. I started seeing Edie in June 2023 and got pregnant with an unmedicated IUI in October 2023. Unfortunately that pregnancy resulted in a chemical pregnancy, but it was one step closer to our goal. My prior IUIs always used meds like Letrozole but I never ever got pregnant from them. Then the next month we were surprised when I conceived naturally! We were ecstatic but apprehensive since I've had two miscarriages before. I continued to see Edie twice a week during my pregnancy, kept up with my protein intake especially during the first trimester, and took my herbs. I believe all of that in combination helped me to keep my nausea controlled, no morning sickness, and very minimal swelling. My pregnancy went very well and was unremarkable. Even the postpartum nurses were shocked I wasn't swollen at all after giving birth. Like many of you reading these reviews, I felt hopeful after years of disappointment and was praying that hopefully someday I'd be on the other side of these reviews making my own successful review for Edie. We are so grateful we found Edie and that she was able to help us achieve getting pregnant naturally to a healthy baby boy. We never thought we would ever have a baby nonetheless conceive naturally. If you are on the fence about seeing Edie--take the leap cause it could change your life. Thank you Edie for helping us conceive our beautiful son. Definitely recommend Edie if you're looking for a fertility acupuncturist!

I just got a call after being on the waitlist for 8 months, and told they're "going down the list"…read moreto reach out to waitlisted people. I was essentially told I had to decide that minute (like literally THAT MINUTE) if I would accept an upcoming appointment in a few weeks. I'm in treatment with a different acupuncturist - it's been 8 months after all - and I needed a moment to think about this. I wanted to review my care plan and goals after not hearing from this practice for so long. Very much caught off guard. I asked if I could have time to think (I wanted about an hour), and was told no - I would need to decide right then THAT MINUTE - and she needed to proceed down the waitlist. I felt extremely pressured to make a decision on the spot, in a very vulnerable aspect of health care - fertility and women's health. I was about to say yes, and then after thinking about it for the three seconds I had and how unprofessional this all felt - my answer turned to a hard "no." This practice made me feel like a mark, a number, an insignificant person on a list to get through until they hit their client booking goals. In spite of how talented a healer Edie Uchida might be, this policy is unfair and the person delivering this info, very cold.
