China Wok is basically a little hole in the wall takeout serving up what is basically New York Style Chinese, which is to say what you get is really not Chinese at all, just Chinese inspired. Some might correctly term it Americanized or American Chinese. But if you like New York Style Chinese, which is about the only choice you have in the area anyway, what they serve up, like General Tao's Chicken (first served in New York and having nothing whatsoever to do with General Tao), is pretty good as is their Wanton Soup, both of which I had. Though the kitchen area appears somewhat cluttered, as are most such places, it's open to view and everything appeared cleaner than you might find in similar Chinese takeout establishments. As for the food I had, the wonton was rather good but the General Tao's Chicken though commonly known to be sweet was excessively so. Now if anyone thinks I'm being overly harsh, this one of the few American Chinese takeouts that I've ever rated Three Stars, as I've found most disgustingly filthy with overly cluttered kitchens serving up cheap crap excuses for even for being New York in style. read more

I've never had a bad experience with China Wok and of course, tonight is no exception. I'm very particular about my food and I want it the way I want it. Tonight, I ordered General Tso's Chicken. I asked for it to be cooked "extra crispy" and with extra sauce (for my rice). It was perfect. There's nothing worse than soggy General Tso's Chicken. I also ordered Mu Shu Pork for my wife and she said it was delicious. In addition, you can order through their website, make your payment online and just pick it up. They offer delivery, but I prefer to pick up. I get it faster and hotter that way. They are very friendly and will accommodate your dining needs. read more

I have lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for 6 years and we still haven't found the same quality/flavor that China Wok provides; I've been a customer since they were in the Ripicon (Main and Cedar). Honestly you can get better quality food at the prices they are charging a great wall it just gets too expensive they keep raising their prices every time last time I went online which was only about an hour ago chicken wings and rice were over $10 and that's just for one item all of their specialty item combinations are just the crazy ridiculous their specials have increased to a minimum of 7 dollars. The appetizers are ridiculously expensive now and I feel like even with covid-19 or just taking advantage of the price raising because Great Wall has not raised their prices this badly and it's not just that much competition in the area there's only a couple Chinese restaurants in this area so there's no reason they can act like they're not doing good cuz there's not any competition just like three places here that are Chinese. And if it was just price it wouldn't be a big deal because you only ordered Chinese maybe once or twice a month but they lack the food quality of Great Wall as well so the price isn't justified. Not the friendliest lady to call either if something is missing just give up and take the loss. If it was just appetizers I might be able to ignore it but they have missed combos to and those things cost over 7 bucks each how do you forget a whole combination platter. It's not like a topping on a pizza where you could actually forget by accident it's a whole damn meal and like I said if you call and complain you just get attitude anyway so no point. this place used to be great but the past few times i placed an order it has gone down hill. This past time it took almost 2 hours i called after an hour and they said they were on the way and it took another hour. The food was cold (the 3rd time i have gotten cold food from them) and they also did not put any sauces, crispy wontons for my soup, fortune cookies, or my egg roll that I ordered in my bag. Went there today for the first time. It's close to our new office. First it took a long time to get my food. Second the food was terrible!!! My hot and sour soup was so burned and had a scorched flavor that I couldn't eat it. The shrimp and string beans had absolutely no flavor and the sin of the whole meal was all of the fortunes cookies were soggy. You could actually unbend and unroll them to get your fortune without them breaking. I will never go there again. Yuck! read more

Maybe it was the friendly employees, fast service, or that I was starving haha. I ordered a basic beef and broccoli dish and eggrolls. The amount of food was overflowing out of the container! And there was no filler item (celery, onions, etc) that you see these days in Chinese take-out. The beef was not tough and chewy, it was juicy and tender. Full of flavor. Normally these places yell from the counter when your food is ready, but she brought everything to my table, she talked with me a bit, then left me alone to enjoy my meal.
