The food is always great, but my recent experience with management was extremely disappointing. I had placed a DoorDash order the day before and noticed that a few of my Rangoons were missing. I returned to the restaurant with my receipt simply to have the missing items replaced. Instead of just correcting the order, the manager called over the employee who had packed my food and proceeded to scold her in front of me, blaming her for the mistake. It was incredibly uncomfortable and inappropriate to witness an employee being publicly humiliated over something so minor. As a customer, I should not have been placed in that awkward situation. That conversation should have taken place privately and professionally. What makes this even more disappointing is that the employee corrected my order and demonstrated excellent customer service. I returned to the restaurant again and encountered the same employee, who was once again pleasant and professional. I believe the manager would benefit from additional training in leadership, professionalism, and how to treat employees with respect. Mistakes happen, but publicly embarrassing an employee is not an appropriate way to address them. The food was great, and I appreciate the employee's service. However, the manager's behavior left a negative impression on me as a loyal customer. I hope my future visits are more positive because no employee deserves to be treated that way, especially in front of customers.

I was here for a race event at the New Jersey Motorsports Park for the weekend. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express (off of Smith Street), next to Cumberland Mall. The hotel recommended this restaurant and I decided to try it. I visited Happy Garden on Saturday evening on or about 7:30 PM. This restaurant is located on N Delsea Ave just north of W Landis Ave (Rt-56) past Sears on the right. The restaurant is small, but has 6 tables for 4 people. It is clean and has plenty of parking. Happy Garden has been around for over 15 years and a Mandarin Chinese family operates this friendly establishment. I was immediately greeted and met a very kind and pleasant gentleman who helped me with my order. He also helped me with arranging a large take-out order for the next day. For my dinner, I placed a large order to evaluate the menu. I ordered a small (also comes in large) Beef Lo Mein (soft noodles), Fried Chicken Wings (4 per order), Spare Ribs (with bones, and quite a bit was provided), and a small order of Pork Fried Rice. The Beef Lo Mein was very good. The noodles were indeed soft and bits of bean sprouts, green onions, sliced water chestnuts, and generous strips of beef were mixed. The flavour was very good and was not salty. In fact, I had to add a little packet of soy sauce to the Lo Mein just for my preferences. The Fried Chicken Wings were also very good. Four (4) full wings (including tips) came with my order. Again, cooked very well, not too oily, not too salty...just right. Crispy skin on the outside and the meat was not dry or over-cooked. The Spare Ribs (with bones) was absolutely delicious!! The marinade was perfect and it reached through the meat making it incredibly flavourable and tasteful. The sweet sauce was a little oily, but not enough to deter me from enjoying this delicacy. The Pork Fried Rice was very good. Lots of reasonable bits of flavourable pork were in the mix making this dish very enjoyable. Again, excellent job on the low salt and this dish was not oily at all. I had to add a little packet of soy sauce to my serving just to tantalize my preferences. Overall...this entire meal was very good. I would highly recommend any of the dishes I reviewed here. Upon my next visit to this area, I would definitely stop at this restaurant! Thank you for making my dining experience a good one!! :) ****BONUS POINTS**** Happy Garden Chinese Restaurant prides itself on "NO MSG." As an individual who is incredibly sensitive to MSG, I will attest that this restaurant came through 100%.
