I used to love this place but once the owner retired and moved to Florida a new lady took over that I really didn't like. She wasn't friendly and always seemed to struggle with taking my order. She isn't a round anymore and now they seem to be doing a lot better. Not the same standard as before but I don't have to worry about consistency anymore. If you are looking for a solid Chinese food choice I would still recommend them. This place here is a work of art and not in a good way. A coworker and myself decided to have this for lunch. We walked inside the establishment and it was hot in there first off. We grabbed a menu and checked out the lunch specials. I opted for the general and he wanted pepper steak. We both wanted egg rolls instead of the soup. We paid and I went to the restroom. It was a wreck as well. Smelled like strong TT/piss/ flies all that. I washed my hands and used a soap dispenser that's been refilled so much eww! Went back out to wait on the food. I saw a lady pulling batterd chicken out of a dingy plastic shoe container. Food was ready we went up and got it and headed outside to eat in our truck. The entrees wasn't bad but my buddy had a heap of vegetables in his pepper steak. More like steak pepper. But the egg rolls were horrible. Had like this grey minced meat material in it. I called back to discuss possibly coming back to get the missing items (I had not been charged for them) but they began to be argumentative and hung up on me. This same man was also seen dipping his unwashed bare hands into a box filled with vegetables & immediately preparing food after I just saw him take cash from a customer at the register...The Asian female that prepared my food did a TERRIBLE job. I ordered the Happy Family which tasted like flavorless, watered down cooking oil not fit for human consumption, and the House Lo Mein tasted old & bland. The meat in BOTH were old & there were NO SHRIMP in the Happy Family... (not that it mattered). I rarely eat "chinese". Every time I do,I reminded why. Mystery meat! Beef,chicken,pork? Likely not. I ordered mine to go with a side of plain fried rice. It was undercooked. I don't understand how food supposedly prepared in a piping hot wok can be luke warm after a 5 min drive home. I get the empression the beef just isnt beef. You all hear the stories. If you take the time to actually chew this crap you'd probably feel the same. Its gooie,slimy even. Coated with something made to mask what you're actually eating. A subtle whiff reveals an unpleasant, rancid or slightly rotten odor. Im tempted to see what the food and safety inspectors lab would think. read more

I have been coming here for the past two years! The food is authentic Chinese Food. I found out the family who own the China wok are from New York. So, it's a no brainer that the food resembles New York Chinese. I always enjoy their shrimp egg rolls and beef and Broccoli. It was my first visit to this restaurant and I do not have any seriously negative comments. I only bought one thing and that was the chicken fried rice. I know fried rice is a good indication of the quality of any Chinese restaurant. Their fried rice was hot and had an excellent texture. The vegetables and it had just the right amount of crispness without being under cooked. I would have no problem eating this rice on a regular basis. With this said, it can be improved. While it had a good flavor, it needed something else, because it was slightly bland. A little salt or soy sauce would make it perfect so I will do that next time I eat it. The service was very timely. I ordered my rice and within five minutes I had it delivered to me. It is dine in or take out but the seating is just basic. They carry Pepsi products and Sunkist which delighted me because I love Sunkist but they only have it in the bottle. I will be revisiting so I can try some more of their selections. read more

Tried this place out today. And it was great super flavorful. They have a bit of a hard time understanding you because of the language barrier. But they do a good job. I think people might get frustrated with them so they come off a little cold in the beginning. But once they realized I was patient. They warmed up. And the food was great. I showed them the number I called and they said that's them but had no order. I had to go to work and could not wait around another however long for them to start over. This place has amazing take out. They do not deliver, but their take out is the best. This is the best Chinese I've had since i moved from Cali. We usually order the Orange Chicken, King Pao Chicken and Broccoli Beef with Fried Rice & Noodles. We are a family of 4 and this will last for at least 2 meal times. I've only ever seen a few young kids eating in the actual dining area, it's nothing fancy but they do have seating. As a resident of Henry County for 28 years I've been to at least 20 different local Chinese restaurants, and China Wok is by far the best Chinese restaurant I've eaten at. The food is always hot, and very flavorful, just the thought of it makes my mouth water. I have had their Singapore Chow Fun, General Tso's Chicken, Hot and Sour Soup, and last but not least their Teriyaki Beef/Chicken on a stick. You cannot go wrong ordering any of the items I mentioned, but as good as everything I've had so far, you probably can't go wrong with anything on their menu. On that note, I'm going to place an order for some General Tso's right after I publish this review. :) read more

I ordered the Gen. Tso's Chicken and it did not disappoint. I love the sweet beginning with the pow (kick to the throat) mild heat to finish. The egg roll was fried to perfection with that crunch to every bite. The rice was good, but lacked any flavor, but nothing duck sauce, soy sauce, and some of the drippings of General Tso's couldn't fix. The tea was good and cold, but was either steeped long time or sweet tea is not the usual drink of choice (had a settled taste of long refrigeration time). The price wasn't bad, but I have seen much better prices at lunch hours. Overall, friendly staff and great food would bring me back to this restaurant. Note: Location made me chuckle. I have no complain whatsoever. Got the General Tso's Chicken lunch special. fried rice was made fresh and never got stale or dry throughout the day. The portions are the best ive seen for the price anywhere near here. the amount of chicken they gave was good enough for two meals, for me at least. The hot and sour soup had more than enough veggies, tofu and eggs. I would also say it was a lot of soup for the price. It wasnt watered down either. Service wasn't perfect, but I had take-out so Im not too mad at it. Overall, its the best chinese Ive had in McDonough so far. The portions for the price was the best.
