Went for first time in hopes it would be good. Well there is no hope for this place in my opinion. I ordered the Kung pao chicken for lunch. Not sure I've ever had breaded kung pao. The pieces were small and hard. If not for the bad taste, I'd say it had no taste at all. The rice seemed old and far from fluffy. You would think if they could get one thing right it would be rice. Ordered beef lo mein container was more the half full of rice then 3 fork fulls of lo mein???. Also ordered fried wonton and they were so hard and chewy and the pork inside wasn't even edible. The vegetables were over cooked to mush as all the noodles that were gooey. I called the restaurant and was told to call the next day - it was night, we were 45 miles away, I am 84 and do not drive at night any longer to bring the food back to the China Wok. The next day the manager told me that she could do nothing and refused to even give a partial refund for the bad food. Even though we ordered two different meals, they both had the same watered-down tasteless brown sauce. This was the most tasteless meal I have had in a very long time. This is one of the worst Chinese restaurants I have ever had the displeasure of getting food. I ordered some vegetables and supposedly deep fried Tofu. Don't order delivery from this place. I have ordered many times and ALWAYS there is an issue. Either something is missing,or just wrong all together. Since you pay to use your credit card, then tip the driver(as you should) I paid 42.00 for 2 dinners and no crispy noodles for my soups. When I called to complain I was told they are extra and I had to order them separately. Best Chinese in town. We only eat in so can not rate their take out. We come at varies hourss evcloser time closiibg and there is always freshly made food waIting. If they don't have what you want or run out of your favorite, you just tell them and the make it right away. Buffet also includes soup and desserts. They do not ignore you as you eat, they continuously clear dirty dishes and make sure your drink is filled. Only reason I did not give five stars is the interior does need an upgrade, especially the seats as they are quite worn out. read more

Love this place. It's cheap and the food tastes wonderful. Love their buffet. It's clean, presentable, and there are delicious selections. The staff is fantastic and know their regulars by sight. I know that when my husband and I walk in our server always knows what we want to drink and that we're there for the buffet. Pros: Quick delivery Cons: The food WILL MAKE YOU SICK. I had chemical warfare in my stomach for 2 days after. They use MSG, peanut oil, and gluten for those with allergies. Food has an off taste: I ordered a General Tso's Chicken dinner and found it lacking in the flavor department, such as spice, boldness, garlic/chili flavor and salt that define a General Tso's Dish, and OVERPOWERING in sugar. SUGAR, SUGAR, SUGAR!!! They charge a $3.00 delivery fee WHICH THEY FAIL TO MENTION TO YOU. This fee is $3.00 no matter where they deliver, even if you live ACROSS THE STREET. I had a great deal of difficulty ordering and understanding the person on the phone because of a thick accent. The delivery man failed to follow directions when he got to my apartment, and was rude upon delivery. He urged for a good tip that he wasn't getting and was furious upon realization that I was paying his 3 dollar tip for the delivery instead. SOLUTION: Just go to Main Moon. At least it's a common franchise. Not much better, but at least you won't get sick. Seriously, I won't EVER go to China Wok again. read more

China Wok, in my experience is the best Chinese restaurant in the area. To say that the food is delicious is an understatement. When friends from out of town visited, they said how the food was just like the food from the best chinese restaurants they knew of in New York City. It is always fresh, even the buffet (we all know that with other restaurants that's not always the case) and its savory and cooked to perfection. I love their buffet, but if you get the chance you should definitely try some of the take out that you can't find on the buffet. Its simply to die for. They will accommodate any dietary needs you have and its really affordable for a large portion. The service is always amazing and if there is a problem with the order, they will do everything in their power to make sure you are satisfied; however, it doesn't usually come to that because they are efficient and very rarely make mistakes. Overall, they are not only my favorite restaurant in the area, but also one of my favorites of all time. Definitely give them a try and I guarantee you'll fall in love. read more

This restaurant has too many stupid rules. You can buy a dinner portion at lunch but you cannot buy two lunch portions after 4pm. Doesn't make since to me. Since they only do take out now it seems like they would really try to satisfy their customers but they don't at all. I have ordered take out 3 times since June. No more. China Wok has always been pretty consistent in making pretty good food. I'm confused why some people automatically assume that they use MSG when there has never been any evidence or indication that they do. I know that they have not used MSG for the past two decades. Popular favorites here include General Tso's, Broccoli Chicken, and Sweet and Sour Chicken. Their General Tso's is on the sweeter side and is very mildly spiced. The chicken in the Broccoli Chicken is always tender and the breading for their Sweet and Sour Chicken is very light and fluffy. My personal favorite is the Egg Foo Young. read more

Very friendly but their English is terrible. Arrived at 340 in the afternoon. Food was dried up and we were charged dinner prices when they advertise lunch till 4. My husband and I are the buffet there one day. It was OK but I wasn't impressed. Not much selection for buffet, and what was there, well... Didn't taste like anything at all, really. The only dishes that tasted flavorful of your typical Chinese American was the General Tso's and sweet and sour chicken. My husband joked that maybe it's a lack of MSG? This place is good if you're looking for a lot of pre-made food placed in a steamer. I had to laugh at the fried rice; it never did hit a wok. It's steamed rice with flavoring and yellow coloring. I had dined with China Wok on and off for about 20 years. At times the food quality varied, but not enough to complain. I had always picked up my orders, but today I needed to have an order delivered. I live 3 miles away, and used their online menu order system (as I had many times before). It says they will deliver in 5 miles. I received a call and was told they would not deliver to me. Turns out, they will not deliver to my, "area". I asked why and was told it was for the safety of their drivers. There is nothing wrong with my, "area" unless if you mean it is a ethnically diverse community? I live several buildings away from the Municipal Building/Police Station. I asked to speak to the owner and was refused being told he would say the same thing. I called back and and again asked to speak to the owner. I was told by the person answering the phone that they had my info and would be contacting the Police if I called again. I went ahead and called the Police myself. The Police said it was not a Police matter and suggested I get my food somewhere else, which I will and you should as well. read more

You do have to miss the change between lunch and dinner....both are great but avoid the shift. I've almost always had a great experience eating at China Wok. That alone is hard to say about a Chinese Buffet, but they do a great job 9 times out of 10. Nothing outstanding or must try as far as the food goes, but consistently good. Every now and then I go in last minute and get a carry out buffet box, and they always ask me if there's something I want them to make fresh for me. Pretty good service overall, they're very proud of their restaurant. The food is mostly always fresh, never seems "old" or anything. If you're not sold on it, maybe try Tops, but do yourself a favor and avoid Main Moon in Sharon at all costs. Nothings ever fresh, the service is lousy, and I witnessed a waitress swatting flies on tables and just wiping them away, which is just plain nasty.. Even the food that is fresh is never very good, and they've got the worst selection of the three Chinese Buffets in the area.
