I had previously looked up hotels and saw that Mandarin Beauty was recommended by someone. I love Asian food, so I decided to give it a try. Pulling up, I wasn't sure it was the right place. For some reason, the front reminded me of a Mexican place. Walking in, there was an adorable older woman seated at a table. I asked for a table for one and she just smiled. A pretty younger lady came out of the kitchen and indicated I could sit wherever. I was the only customer in the restaurant, late afternoon, on a Sunday. The menu was larger than I had anticipated. Many of the dishes were likely popular with American tastes. I didn't want anything too heavy, so I opted for a chicken rice noodle dish and some hot tea. I went to the restroom to wash my hands. The bathroom, like the rest of the restaurant, needs some help. It was clean, but a refresh would go far. Near the bathrooms and kitchen, there is a buffet station. It was larger than I expected. (Buffet is not available at dinner.) When I got back to my table, the tea and food were waiting for me. The portion size was bigger than I expected. The rice noodles were cooked just right, not overcooked. There were far more vegetables than I expected, which was a welcomed surprise. The chicken was tender, flavorful, and plentiful. I enjoyed every bite. I went to the pay and the total was a little less than $20. I only had two 20s, so I gave the pretty lady a $20 and asked for change, wanting to pay the bill with my other 20. She gave me the difference from the price of the bill and the 20. I giggled and gave her the other 20 and asked for change. Then, she realized what I was asking. Unfortunately, it seems that business had been slow, because I got a $5 and a bunch of dollar bills. I left the change from the bill and a nice tip. As I was leaving a truck pulled up. I hope they got some more customers that evening. I plan on returning on my next trip through!

You're treated like family, no matter what time of day you walk in! This was our 2nd time visiting this little gem while passing through Payson, and once again, she was just as special as the first time. This visit was extra special because it was my partner's birthday. There were only three of us, and somehow we ended up having the whole place to ourselves! We arrived about an hour before closing, but that did NOT stop the service or the food from being absolutely excellent. That kind of hospitality is rare these days, and I truly hope this place stays in business FOREVER! I've honestly never had much Thai food before, but EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious! War Wonton Soup: LET ME TELL YOU... this was like LIQUID GOLD! Absolutely incredible, especially after a long day out fishing at the lake. It hit the spot! House Fried Basil Rice :We asked for it spicy, and WOW... SO GOOD! The perfect amount of heat and packed with flavor. Chicken Lo Mein :Another winner! So flavorful and satisfying. And we have to talk about the chili oil and jalapeños on the table... I could've eaten those by themselves! I honestly wish I lived closer because I would be here ALL THE TIME! When I went into the restaurant and…read morethe first couple of moments, the young lady spoke to me you could tell she was upset and annoyed, and was treating me very inappropriately just to take an order so then I asked the older woman there what's wrong with her why she's so annoyed and she said that they had a conversation, but then this woman also paid no attention to me whatsoever the entire time I was there for a half hour. Then when I went to pay and I went to the front desk, I asked for military discount and never before has anybody ever asked me to take my ID out so she looked at my ID and said it's expired and I said OK here's my drivers license and she scrutinize my drivers license. It says Veteran on it and said this expires in 2028. I'm like exactly and she went to say well I could be a dishonorable discharge and that she knows somebody who's a Veteran so she knows all about this thing a verifying people so I went to the VA and I told them that my ID is expired and I need a new one and then I asked them to people with dishonorable discharges, get IDs and they said no and to go backwards when I finished paying and I didn't give a tip because the service was horrible and also the chicken smelt a little strange and tasted off like it was expired and undercooked in the pineapple fried rice I got the pineapple fried rice was OK but the chicken was off. I only ate a couple of pieces and push the rest of the side so when apparently she gave me my Veteran discount after very annoyingly questioning the validity of my ID and my status I told her I won't be coming back and she loudly said I don't care and then she started a walk away and I said and I'll make sure to report this experience on the Internet and she literally yelled that I don't care again loud enough for the entire restaurant to hear her. I didn't even turn to look at her. I just walked out the door horrible person horrible experience questionable food unfortunately they're the only Asian restaurant in town I think but I definitely will not be going back to whatever again I'd rather drive to a place like Show Low where they have multiple options and get good quality Asian food instead of horrible service and bad questionable food. If you look at reviews, there's also reviews about people complaining about his food tasted off and plates didn't seem to be clean or had a soapy taste. Go to restaurants and Show Low never had a bad experience with the quality of food there and multiple Asian restaurants.

Whether dining in or ordering takeout, our experiences have always reflected that familiarity. Because we tend to order the same items, we've occasionally noticed some inconsistency--especially with the Orange Chicken, which was sometimes served soggy. It was a noticeable improvement, and we hope it continues to be prepared this way.
