She had the chicken thigh po boy and I had a bowl of gumbo. Pro: Great slaw (sweet with heat) Con: They only serve the burnt end sandwich for lunch, and the BBQ portions were far too large for what we wanted. In my younger days I would have pounded down one of their BBQ specialties and topped it off with dessert, but as a senior I no longer eat like that. They definitely need senior-sized combos allowing smaller appetites to enjoy a little taste of everything. We both agreed this place would be great for catering a big event.

It was clearly fresh even though I got it in the middle of the afternoon, not a meal time. However we found the Jambalaya and another side to be insanely salty. The Jambalaya was totally inedible to any of us. The biscuits are ok, not great. If you go for the chicken only, it's a solid 4.

Chicken was succulent and juicy. The sandwich was pretty spicy, but the chicken pieces were not. Both were really good. Jambalya had great flavor but just a bit dry.They have a special from 10-2pm. Yes, this is a gas station/mini market, your typical one stop shop with friendly staff that go out of their way to make sure you have what you need. The store is clean with an excellent selection of snacks, drinks, deli food, ice cream & more. But honestly it's the fried chicken that truly makes coming here worth the effort.
