Chinese food is one of our favorites! We are new to the area and have tried 4 or 5 other chinese food restaurants we were not satisfied. We have been to China Tokyo 2 times and have found our FAVORITE!!!!! Food is very fresh every vegetable taste fresh picked even in the fried rice each pea,carrot,onion taste fresh cut . I was truly surprised when I came in to pick it up early and caught them peeling fresh shrimp for my shrimp fried rice which was cooked to perfection. !!! AWESOME!!!! Definitely give them a 5 star. They will get to know us very well. PS: Prices Are Great!!! Update You know how when you go to a restaurant and everything is AMAZING! then you go back with great expectations only to be greatly disappointed. Well this happened. :( Called in a order at 5:00 pm Opening time for Sunday. I was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. Showed up to get our order and there were 2 others picking up orders and another sit in couple. I paid for our food as the guy told me it was almost ready. While I sat and waited another 15 minutes. All customers had left and several delivery orders went out. I finally asked if my order was ok? They said yes it is coming right up. another 10 minutes went by before I finally received our dinners. I live just 2 blocks from restaurant. When we got home and opened our dinners The PUPU Platter was cold both egg rolls, both chicken wings, both ribs both crab rangoons the only thing hot was the 2 pieces of shrimp. I opened the shrimp fried rice and it to was barley warm you could tell by color and texture of rice and veggies it was reheated. Opened the lg Rib plate and we usually receive 9 in a lg order. There was 9 but two of them were about as big as my pinky with a even smaller piece of meat on them. I was very disappointed !!!! I called to voice my opinion and was pretty much met with denial and then just left on phone while everyone was yelling in chinese in the back ground. I just hung up. I have dropped my rating from a 5 to a 3 Will give it one more try. Hopefully it was just a bad day. I will rate it again after next visit. read more

We live in Cape Coral and had a bad experience here and said we wouldn't go back again. Tonight around 6:30 we were on the way home and said let's give them another chance. I ordered beef teriyaki and a large oRyder of pork fried rice. The teriyaki was completely dry and difficult to bite into. It was was similar to beef jerky that you would buy a 7 11. The rice may have been cooking all day and had hardly any beef in it. This order cost over $23.00 and was one of the most expensive meal that i basically just threw away. The rice was kind of dry, the spare ribs were tough and dry with a cinnamon like taste, overall the food was mediocre and the price was way higher then what it's worth. Honestly wish I could return the $17.99 spare ribs that I didn't even eat accept for trying it. read more

Paid way too much for mediocre food. Pupu platter was disappointing. Chicken wing cut in two was two servings. Egg rolls were all cabbage with nothing else. Rangoon had a dollop of crab filling. Not even three bites of spare rib. Egg foo yung was filled with carrots and either kale or spinach. Two small shrimp in one cake. No one wants to try lo mein. Well, this is a first, I ordered bourbon chicken and got a completely different fried mystery dish. It's warm and crispy, which I guess isn't a bad thing but I wouldn't suggest anyone with dietary restrictions to eat here since they just substitute out as they please. They should have stayed closed. Terrible. I guess NY Chinese food continues to allude us here in Cape Coral. First we had the spare ribs. Not even close to Chinese ribs. Chinese ribs are not saucy, but when put in the salamander makes it crispy on both sides. Some ribs had little meat on them and the others were kind of fatty. Sadly, a fail. The wife had Kung Pow Chicken. She reports totally meh. I had the pork egg foo young. The egg part wasn't bad, but the brown sauce was tart and not good. Since we both had combo plates, it came with an egg roll and fried rice. The egg roll wasn't the best with the filling being totally underwhelming. Thank goodness for duck sauce. The fried rice had no taste whatsoever. I could have fixed it, but not worth the effort. Sorry fans, Take a pass on this. I didn't even bother with pictures on this one. Whenever we want to try a new Chinese restaurant for the first time, we order their egg rolls to go FIRST. In all the years we have found that if the egg rolls are good we will then go to the restaurant to eat. Glad we did. The egg rolls were BY FAR the worst I have ever had. Very disappointed in this place. We ordered pineapple chicken combo, beef chop suey and sweet n sour chicken. The pineapple chicken was so soggy, the fried rice was not fried at all with absolutely no flavor, the beef chop suey was more like stir fry, I've never seen chop suey like this before. Stopped here today for the first time. I have to say they exceeded our expectations! The food was excellent, hot and fresh vegetables. The crab Rangoon is home made, nice and flacky. The owners are very warm and welcoming! This is a Chinese restaurant must for Cape Coral. I have been to many Chinese Restaurants in Cape Coral, but this one is the best! Best takeout Chinese in town. Always fresh veggies. Sometimes tofu is overcooked! Overall usually pretty good. Need veggie spring rolls only shrimp spring rolls. Most of the time it is good sometimes greasier than I'd like, but it is take out! I will definitely eat there again! read more

We have been seeking recommendations for good carry out in Cape Coral, and China Tokyo was recommended as fast, reliable Chinese/Japanese. We had our food delivered, and the egg rolls were mediocre-the fried rice dry. We ordered sweet and sour pork; it arrived with the pork only. We called to get the sauce, accompaniments, and an hour and a half later, one person was out their complete dinner. We called back, and we are still waiting. read more

Stay here for the winter season. I came here from Philly there's a lot of Chinese restaurant there and I love Asian food. I checked this Chinese Japanese restaurant nearby my winter rental here in cape. When I searched on the Yep there is some bad reviews and the good ones I thought I will give a try and I glad I'm did. This place is very clean and the people are super nice friendly and they are work so hard with smile on their face really love it! best of all the food is awesome taste very fresh and I love the general Tso chicken thats the best one I ever had and I order it everywhere I go around country. And hot sour soup is my favorite also. I think I found my favorite spot here in Cape Coral for Chinese food and I will try their order sushi next time. I will be back next week. read more

They had a variety of food with shrimp, pork, beef, and chicken. My favorite I must say is the Bourbon Chicken Combo. Which comes with an egg roll. Very good I must add. They provide a good supply for vegetarians too. They also have a good selection of sushi. The Cape Coral roll is my favorite. Literally love! read more

We don't live very far from China Tokyo Express and have been eating here for more than 15 years, through all the 5 or 6 owners. Last night we decided to get take out and found they were now take out only. (Possibly due to Covid-19 Regulations) Our food was absolutely horrible! They used to have some of the best General Tso Chicken in the area. Our meal last night was so overcooked and tasteless, other than an enormous amount of salt, we could not eat it. The fried rice was extremely dry and overcooked as well and the egg roll was not much more than an index finger in size. Not sure what happened as it has been a few months since we ordered food from there but you can be assured we won't be going back. Perhaps they have another new owner. Really don't expect them to be in business very much longer serving this grade of meals at their prices. Shopping at Winn-Dixie I was hungry I saw this place....Took a chance... Well it is like ALL of the Asian places in SWFL. 99% are never 1 cuisine most 2-3 mixed up (.. A Thai restaurant in North Fort Myers serves only Thai.) I ask for extra hot on the Szechuan pork Just hot. Its is pathetic NO ONE UNDERSTAND hot or EXTRA HOT. Plus they all use this southern hot sauce cayenne with vinegar crap. It should be a crime for them to mis represent.... wait ..IT IS in San Francisco ..... Ordered the shrimp lo mein, crab Rangoon, and Mongolian beef. I was a little disappointed with the Mongolian beef since there was so much onions. Don't get me wrong, I love onions but I felt they put more onions than beef. Still good though. They gave me a fair amount of crab Rangoon for the price, couldn't even finish it alone. The shrimp lo mein was good and they gave me enough shrimp. Most places don't put that much shrimp but this place put a good amount. read more
