I am on a quest to find the best general tso tofu and so far nothing had really come close to, or beat, my usual go to spot- but China Taste changed that by providing a pretty decent tofu. Other places I've gone to usually have a problem with making the sauce too sweet- happy to report China Taste does not have this problem! I was also pleasantly surprised by how small the tofu was cut. The pieces were perfectly sized and very uniform, which is ideal for me, so honestly extra points. My only issue with it was that it was more expensive than my go to spot's tofu, but it's not like you're gonna be breaking bank y'know. So while I do not think I have found the best general tso tofu quite yet, I think this was a pretty solid contender. Besides the food, I really liked the interior of the restaurant. Usually other Chinese places I go to don't have like an actual seating area, but they had a whole little dining area and it looked really nice. The workers were really efficient/fast, and the girl who took my order was polite! So no complaints on the service. Wasn't impressed at all with my order last night from China Taste in Lutz. Disclaimer this is based off of an order through Ubereats, I have no idea what the location looks like or how they operate. Scary, I know right? My order consisted of house lomein and a Pupu platter which is something I always order from any Chinese spot to test the quality of several different menu items at once. The Pupu platter came with 2 ribs, beef teriyaki, chicken wings, fried shrimp, shrimp toast, Krab Rangoon, and pork egg rolls. The wings and Krab Rangoon were the only appetizers I actually enjoyed. The house special lomein was pretty tasty, but I doubt I'd order from an establishment if I barely enjoyed the other menu items they offer. read more

One of the worst Chinese restaurants I have been in my life, maybe the worst. This place is 5 minute away from my home but still I'm never coming back, it is so bad that is not worth it. Consistently good, shrimp are large and fresh, eggrolls are crisp and not greasy and it is fresh to order a fast.

So I like the food here, but service has become terrible lately. Everytime we order it takes another 15 to 20 minutes past the estimated time they tell us over the phone for the food to be ready. I'm assuming it's the sheer volume of orders they get as they are always busy and moving full bore in the kitchen. My guess is they actually need a larger kitchen and a netter expedite system. Since the food tastes good I'll continue to come, but plan accordingly. I'll assume the food will be ready an hour from the time I order it. So that is my PSA for today! read more

This place is pretty consistent with their food quality. They did recently forget our order of egg rolls but when I called back to ask, they noted my phone # & gave me credit toward my next purchase! I am not at all sure what happened tonight, but none of it was good. We love a good pupu platter. This wasn't one of them. The shrimp were so over cooked that you could've bounced them on the floor. The batter wasn't even sticking. It looks like a 3 year old cooked it. The chicken wings were similarly dry. My husband, who is the polar opposite of picky, had only a few bites of his orange chicken before he pushed it away and wouldn't eat anymore. Again, terribly over cooked and dry. This wasn't a bad experience overall. I placed a request that I was allergic to mushrooms with each item and found that the restaurant complied and I was thankful for that. The egg rolls were a noteable size and somewhat met expectations. I felt that the filling did not offer much variation, but were decent when loaded with Duck sauce. The Shrimp Mei Fun was my entree, and met expectations. I wish that the dish had a little more vegetables in it and did find a few end pieces of shrimp that looked like they should not have been in the food, but nothing overly gross. I would most likely order from this restaurant again, but the egg rolls left me yearning for something more, to which I may keep shopping around for my next go to Chinese restaurant. In the mood for some Chinese food and this place has been our main option for over 10 years. Great food at great prices. Convenient to order online and pickup. Now since covid you cannot enter or dine in. You order over the phone and pick up at the door. Pay in person also. We are on keto so cannot have rice. When I ordered I asked for tofu in place of rice and the gentleman was very polite and accommodating to the request. They gave us a side of fried tofu at no additional charge since we didn't get the rice. We ordered the pepper steak and onions and the hunan chicken. My daughter got the general tsaos chicken which in our opinion (when I could eat that) it's the best for Chinese take out. Definitely recommend. Ok - this is a good neighborhood Chinese takeout place. It is very clean and one can see their food being prepared. There is no MSG and it is family run. China Taste's lunch specials are nice and for a good price as well. I would recommend their sesame chicken or the House lo mein. The Singapore chow mei fun is also delicious. If you are looking for something healthy, China Taste's steamed vegetables and rice are wonderful. This is perfect for an evening spent with friends, binge watching a good night of tv. read more

Food bland and mediocre. Wouldn't recommend this place. With COVID and these Variants they should never allow their children/employees to sit at the same counter to eat and hangout where food is being handled/bagged. Needless to say no one wears masks and should never be that close to customers food period. I ordered Curry Chicken today. Worst Curry Chicken I've ever had. Chicken was slimey, sauce was slimey and didn't taste like curry. Onions tasted spoiled. After 5 bites, I brought it back to the counter and informed the cashier it was the worst tasting curry I've ever eaten. I paid $9.10 for a pile of garbage. China Taste has consistently delicious food. The Beef LoMein is among the best I've ever had! Lots of beef and crunchy veggies jam-packed in the container. The Spring Rolls are crispy and chock-full of delicious veggies and meat. General Tso's Shrimp is awesome! BIG shrimp in a slightly spicy sauce (you can get it hotter) and paired with broccoli. The prices are reasonable, too. If you spend more than $20 you are given a complimentary order of Crab Rangoon, which is yummy! read more
